Yamamoto is so agile and quick! But because the attention is focused the great blocks and amazing spikes of the other players, people often forget the very vital role the Libero plays in a volleyball tournament.
I 100% agree, as a libero myself I often find the attention and praise being unfairly diverted to the average spikes, and not my much more impressive dives and digs.
As a libero myself before, it's really hard to get that much attention. The training is different from other players, and is also a tough job making sure the ball stay up everytime for the team. Everyone in court is amazing, but liberos also deserve recognition in some way.
In my view, Yamamoto-San is unfairly under-rated player in the Japanese Team. The Japanese super stars like Nishida, Ishikawa, and Sekita tend to get a lot of attention. But without Yamamoto-San, the Japanese floor defense will collapse! Japan historically had the best floor defense in the world. The Soviet Union had the best attacking team in history along with Bulgaria!
Among all the liberos from team Japan that I knew, Koga, Yamamoto and Ogawa. I personally really like Yamamoto. I understand how people only focus on the superstars but I really want my volleyball or notebook to be sign by everyone. Without the liberos, the floor defense would have collapsed long time ago. Cheers to every player on the court! Just a quick one for the MB. Onodera honey,, I love ya😭❤
damn thats some crazy defense going on in japan's side with yamamoto his dives are so smooth to the point that maximum impact on the ground is aborbed impressive techniques
3:015:19 hey look! haikyuu manga has a live action 😂 3:52 I just love moments like this: a player will call the ball and everyone will immediatly step away and get ready for attack or defense in case there's a block, respecting "thsi one goes to him" wish my school team had this type of communication those amazing digs and dives... wow, liberos are awesome
Since this is a highlights reel, I'm mainly seeing that Yamamoto was in the correct spot to dig. I'm more curious to see times when an adjustment was required.
To bad the speakers do not talk that much about liberos Sure the spikers give the point, but the best libero will be the one allowing those points, and Yamamoto is a beast Catching the balls is one thing, aiming them line he does is another level
it is! if he jumped while inside the 10ft line with his hands it would’ve been illegal and considered a back row attack, but he was on the ground and also bump set the ball

We will only see him shine if we focus on the libero v-v its really sad how liberos such a hard position but they get no time to shine
idk for me my attention is focused on whoever does good plays, including liberos. extremely impressive.

100%agree!!! Yamamoto is the best libero in the world right now. 👍
@@TomTom-xp2jb Arigato!
@@TomTom-xp2jb Lol he's great, but BEST LIBERO in the world?? Nah! he's not even close to Jenia Grebennikov or Erik Shoji of USA
Yeah, also the middle blockers of Japan were also underrated even before. I hope they could appreciate them all fairly. 🥲
@@renzg3292 Shoji of USA is a big nahhh LOL 😂
Yamamoto is an incredible Libero, he has all my respect, best libero to me🔥🔥🔥
山本が取り上げられてるの嬉しい😊

I love the way he cheers. He just runs off the court i love that
Most of the plays show more of his amazing reading skills than his speed, but he's undeniably a great (and really underrated) player
やっぱり山本くんのディグは凄すぎる、、
ほんと頼れる日本の守護神!!

lol how does he do it, I have trouble watching the ball on the screen!
3:45 he set it up for the spiker inside the box????? Is that Legal?

i respect yamamoto but i think erik soji is a bit faster
Grebennikov, Shoji, and the Argentinian libero are better.
Well, no one is comparing. They're all good😟
