Longer rockets are for longer motors... Regarding rocket shipping/transport, had a team from the Middle East cut their 6" x 10' rocket into 4 pieces and the nose cone to fit in each team member's luggage and no problem. Unfortunately, what problems you encounter at airports are often what TSA people you get.
Taylor, How did you set up your avionics bay? Did you use threaded rods and a deck? What types of switches did you use and what was their placement? (Are there markings on the Ebay end plates suggested to be used for any threaded rods? Thanks! Ed
Sorry, I’ve been absent from UA-cam for a bit! I build my rockets with a single 1/4” threaded rod. I mount my electronics on a sled that fits in a 3” an bay that way I can put the sane sled in and rocket 3” or larger. I use the twist and tape method for my switches. Switch wires coming out of one of the vent holes. The marks that come on the bulkplates are what a lot of people use for allthread spacing, I’m just not a fan of that method.
Hi! I've been looking at the 2.1" punisher sport lately as a first attempt at a fiberglass rocket and wondered if you had any 29mm motors you'd recommend. I'd like to start moving from model rockets to high power. Love the channel so far! Merry Christmas 🎄
That's the only size Punisher I don't have, but I really want one! Aerotech 29/180 reloads would be really great in that rocket. H128W is a classic as is the H238T. If you aren't certified yet, the 29/120 case has a few good G motors that I used to fly all the time! Of course there are a variety of DMS motors available too if you don't want to buy any motor cases. I will recommend this hardware set that will allow you to fly any Aerotech 29mm motor. wildmanrocketry.com/collections/29mm/products/2918sc
Where do you launch out of Kansas City? I live in Texas and here is where I got into rocketry but I grew up in KC and it'd be cool to go see a launch day around the area when I go back.
I've been looking at the 3" Punisher as my next rocket. Your youtube presentation convinced me to get one. However, I have been playing around with Open Rocket and it appears the Punisher is very tail heavy on most motors with a stability of less than one even when adding some weight to the nose. The rocket seems to like the bigger Level 2 motors. Please advise, Thx.
Punishers are plenty stable at around .6 calibers stability. For two grain 54s I’ve found it likes higher average thrust motors like blue Thunder, white Thunder, etc. That being said, Myself and plenty of others have flown white lightning 2 grains, I’ve just noticed it has a bit of a wiggle off the pad if there’s any wind. I personally wouldn’t add any nose weight.
Hey Braden, I like the channel. I have some used rocket hardware, etc that I'm trying to find a home for. Would you be interested in any of it? I too live in The KC area.
Thanks! This is actually Taylor Jessee. Screen name rings a bell - Blair C? I would indeed be interested in those type of things. Shoot me an email and we can discuss. therocketrychannel@gmail.com
I launched the little Punisher (SS dual deploy version) on an Aerotech I280 DM. Lost it. Flew out of sight and no idea where it’s at. The replacement is almost done. ua-cam.com/users/shortsxfdfIvCvtRI?feature=share

Thanks to you and Braden, I am building my first punisher right now to fly next year. It's a sweet rocket! I can't wait to fly it!
I ordered my first Punisher during Wildman's annual sale. Looking forward to building and flying it.
order my 3" during the Wildman sale and cant wait for it to get here.
Bought a 3" punisher at airfest this year. Can't wait to fly it
Tell Nigel I said wassup
May finally be convinced to get a punisher. Then I can be like the cool kids. Rocket cat realllllly wants to be a youtube star
He thinks he's a star even without youtube! 😂

I fly with the Kloudbusters in Argonia, KS. There isn’t a HP club anywhere close to KC.
@@the_rocketchannel thanks for your response!
Thanks for the videos your doing great

Three grain 54s and above is where this rocket shines imo!
Have you ever gone drogueless with a punisher? Or would this not be the best idea as when it splits one half would weigh a lot more than the other?
Orange Cat Good.
SCS, Space Cat System
Now that you have convinced me I need to add a 3” punisher to my wildman collection what size drogue chute should I use?
12” drogue is what I would recommend! Just enough to keep the booster from stabilizing on descent.

@@the_rocketchannel That's me. Will do.
Awesome. Let me know.
What brand and size parachute are you using for the 3" Punisher?
Currently I’m using a 36” LOC chute that came with my mini Magg. A 36” regular or 45” thin mill Top Flight is what I recommend if buying a chute.
Yes.
I’m just finishing my Punisher and going to ground test it. What size charge should I start off with?

Probably need a tracker on anything bigger than an H on that one! I need to get the SS one of these days.
@@the_rocketchannel The new is launching on a H123 first. It’s a cool little rocket. I have the 3” and trying to decide between the 4” or 5” next.
@the_rocketchannel >>> 👍👍
EDIT: The first cat I had when I was a kid I named _"Rocket."_
Really.
WHY I named her that I have no idea...😊
