@Looby456 do NOT connect the 4th to the 1st unit! Don't make a closed ring, it should be like a SPRING. Keep connecting new units to the last unit added!
did u seriously DESIGN this?! this is pure genius:) it looks cool, i just need to memorize how to make one unit, then make 49 more in my spare time, then come back to this video and connect it. awesome! i subscribed
I love this tutorial and piece it teaches you a lot of the basic folds and that good segmented origami is tedious. I myself have mad many Slinkys like this over 1000 units long and when people see them they are instantly children again.
I am in my 60's and I feel just like a kid again when I play with the slinky I made. Thank you for bringing such joy to an old woman. Although I would prefer the non modular style more I have not been able to successfully make that one yet. Oh but I will. LOL
i made 50 units..i want to add more but i'm just too much lazy..mine is not perfect but at least it is moving! haha Tips: don't put very less space when folding vertically going to the middle because you will have difficulty connecting it and don't rush :)

I had a short yellow one with only 15 units or something and now I upgraded it to 50 units it has some blue units on it and it is awesome 👏🏼 can’t wait to make the non-modeler version
it is shown in the video...watch it. (its one continuous line turning around like a real slinky so you only need to know how to connect 1 to know the rest, just repeat how u connected the first one.)
I love a good origami project that challenges my novice skills. Thanks so much for uploading this and actually showing a picture to make sure viewers do it right! Also I love the affectionate way you ending this video :3 Makes me want to go home and hug and kiss my little doggie if she wasn't always being bad -.-"
Thank you so much I love this it was actually so easy but very time consuming but it came out great! Thank you again and a reply would be wonderful. Thank you.
He had 3 colors: Yellow, Green and Blue, After that he inserted another yellow one, that means it continues that under the first 3 units and making the circle again, then connecting to the one under again.Thats how you connect them, you go round and round and round, He used those 3 colors for a reason.
Hey jo, have you ever tried using memo cubes from office max or staples? Theyr kinda like post its except they're not sticky. I use them and they work great with origami.
i got a little question here... my first try at this was with "notes" paper 10x10 very thin so when i "slip" it from one hand to the other peices seperate sometimes. is that just from paper being too thin?
Does this work with sticky-notes? Or would it not work too well because they are so small? If you can use them, how do you think I should fold the sticky part so that nothing gets stuck together that shouldn't?
As long as all of the pieces started with the same paper size, it'll be fine. If you made some pieces with 8cm paper and some with 10cm, then there would be a problem. Does that help?
can you use foil paper for this? thanks i ask this because usually when i make something modular out of foil paper, it slides and falls apart. thanks again!

Ahh! Made it took me 5 days . By the way thanks for this amazing modular origami
I decided to make this for a friend as a secret santa gift. Took hours for me to make, but it was worth it cause he loved it c:
Thanks @jonakashima :3
This is one of the few tutorials I actually understand!
JK I did basically all of his tutorials. GO JO!!!
and I say to myself, “ Hey! I made 2 units!” The tutorial says, “*50* units should work.” Me: 😱😭
+Daniel Jun fold with friends, then you will finish it very quickly together ☺️
Awesome origami. As for the last unit, just make sure it goes under the first unit, and resume from there.
This size should work well
Thanks for this tutorial, now I have something to do when I'm bored at school.
You're welcome :)
He had 3 colors: Yellow, Green and Blue, After that he inserted another yellow one, that means it continues that under the first 3 units and making the circle again, then connecting to the one under again.Thats how you connect them, you go round and round and round, He used those 3 colors for a reason.

such a great idea to add a diagram on the corner!!
you worked hard best of luck sister
its very difficult to made this than to see the person her face expression is happy i like this
Ive made it, i used tape to stick together and it turned out great! :)
where were you bro I found your channel recently and it is amazing thank you bobo
I had to steal paper for this. It was so fun!
TO PEOPLE WHO ARE WONDERING HOW TO PUT RINGS TOGETHER :
you aren't creating rings, the units will just keep stacking onto each other. Try it !

yes, coolest thing ever!!! and easy to make! perfect!
thanks for sharing, Jo!

i got a little question here...
my first try at this was with "notes" paper 10x10 very thin so when i "slip" it from one hand to the other peices seperate sometimes. is that just from paper being too thin?
if i split an a4 sheet of paper into quarters and make them quarters into squares will that be the right size to make the slinky with
Does this work with sticky-notes? Or would it not work too well because they are so small? If you can use them, how do you think I should fold the sticky part so that nothing gets stuck together that shouldn't?
instead of making a pinch, can you just fold it all the way, or would that be a problem?
Adoro hacer cosas de origami. Gracias por enseñarnos tantas cosas :D
Ya me pongo a hacer esto!
How do u connect the last one is it like the same thing all the time or the last one is diffrent??
As long as all of the pieces started with the same paper size, it'll be fine.
If you made some pieces with 8cm paper and some with 10cm, then there would be a problem. Does that help?
why would anyone bother to dislike this?
you nailed that part thumbs up for that
can you use foil paper for this? thanks
i ask this because usually when i make something modular out of foil paper, it slides and falls apart. thanks again!
Thanks for the upload!i will surely make this and post on my video : ) keep it up!
😃
Love the dog bit at the end :D
Ok but wtf is this masterpiece
Very good origami I got almost all that you do
Even though it's hard I still like this video
Omg its awesome! I have done it... It was easy.
@2002Seany Yeah, probably, but since the pieces would be bigger, I suggest you make more units for the slinky.
it`s great you put diagram shows in right corner
