Mary Ann Geyer you've got that right! Journey were big back in the day. They broke the mid of a lot of 80's rockers. Steve had a very huge and wide range when he was young. He had a similar vocal range to Jon Bon Jovi, and some female rockers like Pat Benatar and Ann Wilson. I've always thought Journey and Heart sound the same. I would have really loved hearing Steve Perry and Ann Wilson sing a duet back in the 80's.

Just look at the utter JOY on these guys faces!!!!! Holy moly they are FUN to watch!!! And LOOK AT ROSS VALORY. You could turn the sound OFF and still follow the song just from looking at him. He doesn't feel the beat, he IS the beat. And the harmonies. They could ALL SING. This band is PHENOMENAL.
Damn these guys were tight back then. The hours of practice are so obvious. World class musicians, insanely talented song writers, on top of the world.

It's so evident how much time and effort journey puts in to do these live performances
Journey was one of the original super groups that most don't realize. Journey members are from Neal Schon-"Santana",Jonathan Cain-"The Babys",Steve Smith-"Montrose",Ross Valory-"Steve Miller Band", and Steve Perry's voice-gift from "God"! All of them always consummate pro's.
Boy were they on fire. So much raw energy. Fantastic!

I have watched him in concert since 77. long hair, short hair, permed hair really long hair and short hair again. and every show was just like this. he was all over the place. people behind the stage were even able to see him. he never left anyone out. 15 concerts with steve and I don't think I ever thought he looked out of breath and I always wondered, "how in the hell can you not pass out due to lack of oxygen."

One of the best things about going to see Journey back then, other than excellent music, Steve Perry is all over the stage. It was so much fun, just watching him was well worth the money for a ticket.

I found the Journey Live In Houston Concert CD at WallMart for $7. Its my favorite summertime cruising CD for my 80s G Body classics. It almost feels like I'm back there again.

I've always loved the harmonized, Mixolydian scale Neal and Jon play together at the end.
I saw the doc.'Directors cut " last night and what I understand from it is, that the journey band is just like an old couple.Meaning ,there were some good drift and there were more tumultuous times as everyone had to find there place.But above all, In the end it evolved and proved to be a legacy . The cost paid from all the members had a great price .When you think about it ,You"ll find that ,to construct something that survives time you have to invest yourself no matter what....Journey is just like the great ones, such as Pink floyd ,Led zepplin and jimmy hendrick.You have your own Place into the music world.Thank"s a bunch...

I saw this tour and it was great but Frontiers blew it away, it was a huge production and they had a great opener, Bryan Adams he had Cuts like a Knife out which was a huge album also and I was really impressed with his band, they were loud as hell, I love it!! I miss the old days of Journey, wish things didn't have to change so much, but time changes some people and others it doesn't.

I remember when Journey hit the charts, Steve Perry's voice was the only reason I stuck with their music. He made Journey one of the best bands to come around and their music has always been awesome. Adam Lambert is close, but, no one can sing Journey's songs like Steve Perry. He made the sound of Journey💯💯💯

A page right out of my youth, I saw this exact same tour at the Omni in Atlanta just a couple weeks later, Steve Perry was even wearing the same shirt. Loverboy opened for them. I was just 16 and the world was still a big mystery to explore, how I wish I had a time machine!!
