Welcome to Kruger 2024! 😝 It's fantastic knowing that you'll once again be on our backseat, you know it won't be the same without you! We hope that you continue enjoying our chattering and laughing, there was a lot of it during this series! Thank you for always watching, we appreciate you! 🚙🤩
It's the little things that gets Sonia really going and there were countless little moments which made our Kruger trip so unforgettable. We can't wait to share the rest with you, I hope you enjoy! 🚙😍
Hi. So wonderful to see you in the Kruger again. It was my and my husband's favourite place to visit. Camping with our rooftop tent. But I have not been there since he passed away in January 2021😢
I hope there aren't too many sad moments for you during this trip, but I can only imagine that Kruger holds precious memories in so many different spots. 😊 Hold on those memories and hopefully you enjoy our videos and the majesty of the place through the tears. Perhaps one day you'll have the courage and an opportunity to return. 🌹🚙
We were just as excited, believe you me! 🤩 We're right there with you, it's most certainly our favourite place too, in the whole wild world. We hope you enjoy each and every episode of this series. 🚙😁
Happy days indeed! 💃🏻🕺🏻 I'm so glad to hear you're excited about our Kruger series. We love having your company on board and especially as we explore and enjoy this magical place. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! 🤩🚙
Yup, indeed! We had such an incredible first day, and the rain showered so many wildlife blessings on the two of us. 😍🌧️ Thank you for watching our Kruger series!
You have no idea how excited we were! Come to think of it, you probably have a fair idea, having been around for such a long time! 😝 Welcome to Kruger 2024, we can't wait to share every episode with you. We always appreciate having you on board! 🚙😁
You've been back home for a few months now and I can only imagine how much you must be missing Kruger. It's only been a few days for us and all we can think about, is being back there again. That place gets in one's blood somehow! ❤️🚙
We were truly blessed with how many animals and birds we saw from the get-go! 😍 I'm glad you enjoyed, we can't wait to share the rest with you. Thank you for being a fixture on our backseat, we appreciate having you around! 🤩🚙
Why, thank you! 😊 I must admit I got quite envious of some of the long lenses we saw in Kruger. 😍 I hope you enjoy each episode of exploring and enjoying this phenomenal place! 🚙
LOVE YOUR COMMENTORIES AND SENSE OF HUMOUR OMING ALL THE WAY FROM THE STRAND IS AMAZING, KEEP UP YOUR AMAZING VIDEOS, THANKYOU. PS LOVELY TO SEE THE RAIN
Thank you! We're two proper chatterboxes when we travel, but the excitement goes into overdrive when we're in Kruger. I'm glad you enjoy our videos. The final destination makes the long drive from Strand absolutely worth it! 🤩🚙 It was fantastic to see the rain, they need a lot more and I hope for a very wet rainy season. 🌧️
Oh lucky you! I never had the opportunity to visit Kruger park. So at least I have this amazing opportunity to visit with you from your back seat. Thank you 👍😊❤
I hope that we make you feel like you were actually right there and not just on our backseat. It's a fantastic place and we so look forward to sharing it all with you! 😝 Thank you for always taking your place on our backseat, it would be rather empty without you! 🚙😁
❤lovely surprise❤ back in KNP. Going to be a great trip. Looking forward to 3 hours of viewing this week coming. Giraffes fighting omw You got so many great viewings on your first day 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hope you're feeling better already. 🌸 Our first day was so exciting, we could hardly contain ourselves. But, then again, so was every subsequent day! I hope you have fun watching Kruger in all its splendour. 😍🚙
Oh my word... how I have waited fir this moment. I can't wait to get stuck in. Guess where my attention will be focused! Thx guys! Travel safe! Sandy's first trip to the Kruger! ❤
🤩 I thought you might be just a tad excited! Let me tell you, Dusty and Sandy had the best time ever. Sandy had no idea what to expect and she is now a firm lover of Kruger too! 😍 I hope you enjoy every episode!
You hit the nail on the head! PARADISE it is for sure, there's no doubt about it. 😍 I'm glad you enjoy watching our videos of this special place. We wish you safe travels and the most amazing time. I almost feel guilty since we've only been home for a few days, but we're jealous! 😁🚙
You two had me in tears when you drove in at Malelane Gate. The memories of travelling with my parents, on that very road just welled up. I am. Loving every moment of this trip already. You were blessed with so many beautiful sightings. Oh, and then Sunset Dam, gorgeous. You obviously love to braai Curtis, and I bet those sarmies were delicious. Enjoy your time in the Best Place on Earth.!
Memories are part of what makes Kruger the magical place it is. So many folks have precious memories of loved ones and one somehow feels closer to them when there. We hope there won't be too many sad moments for you and that you'll enjoy driving around with us. 🚙😊 Those braaibroodjies were delicious, they always are! 😝🥪
@DustBugsTravel There probably will be, as there were last year too, but it is part of the healing process. There is nothing nicer than a braai and braaibroodjies in the Kruger. The atmosphere is amazing, especially when so many people are having a braai!
What a delight see you again on a perfect trip! You (we) saw everything on the first day! I wish you a lekker visit to the southern part of the BPOE - best place on earth!!!
BPOE! That's a new one for me and I concur 1000%! 😝 I'm so glad you say that you also saw everything on the first day, because you're right there with us. Thank you for hopping on board as we once again explore this magical place which is Kruger! 🚙🤩
Kruger again. Good shot you can never see everything. Kruger has a character of its own. From start you saw so many wild life. How I longed for your rooster koek. Nice rondawel you stay in. Thanks for this trip It was well done. Looking forward to the next one. I will sleep in the car!!
Yes, Kruger again! 😝 And it will be again and again. As a fellow resident of Strand, you know how far it is for us to travel, but it's all worth it once we arrive in that magical place. We so look forward to you driving each kilometre with us through the Park, we always appreciate your company! 🚙😁
Hi Sonja & Curtis, so happy you are back in your special place. I have been away for 18 years as I live in Australia but next year we are returning for a week long trip in Kruger and your December 2023 and this vlog makes me SO EXCITED! Thank you for sharing. From a fellow Oud Parkie ❤
Sonia is waving at the fellow oud-Parkie! 🙋🏻♀️😁 Oh, you've been away from Kruger almost as long as we were before we rediscovered it in 2023. Careful, the bug will bite and it bites hard! We can't stay away now, although it's obviously easier for us who still live here. The 2000km we have to travel just to get there, feels like just around the corner once we arrive there. I can only imagine how excited you must be now already. You're going to have the most amazing time! 😍🚙
Hi Curtis , Sonia, Dusty, and Sandy. A fantastic start to your Kruger Trip. Nsture at its best with a large variety . wildlife. Here's to viewing all the little species that you would love to see. I've never seen so many hippos in one spot. Keep those excellent videos coming
Thank you, the four of us love having you on our backseat and we so look forward to sharing everything we experienced with you. Those hippos were fascinating. Sonia has always been intrigued by how quickly they move for their enormous size and it was thrilling to see those big bodies run around like that! 🦛 I hope you enjoy all that is to follow! 🚙😁
Indeed, every moment of Day 1 was fantastic, as was every subsequent moment. It can be no different when we're in the Park. 🤩 Thank you for always being on our backseat as we explore places, it's special to have you here as we travel through the place we love the most of all. 😍🚙
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed Day 1 with us. Our joy literally knew no bounds, on that day and every single one beyond. We look forward to sharing the rest of our trip with you. 🚙😁
Awesome, the start of the next Kruger series!!! Curtis and Sonia it was so great to meet you on the H7 (twice)....This is a great way on my 2nd day home to get over the jet lag. Agree with you, my sightings of the big cats were less after the cloud and rain came in my second week. However, I did risk the KWID down a couple of slippery dirt roads and saw 2 fantastic Cheetah sightings. 1 down the s128 where I spent nearly 2 hours with 2 cheetah. First in the road then walking along and finally sitting only 10 metres from the road. Only 1 other car came past in that time. The other was 3 cheetah on the s28, they had a kill, then walked along the road. There were a lot of vehicles at this sighting. Happy travels from Jason, Melbourne Australia.
Wowzer! You had the most amazing luck with big cats this trip, we're super jealous of those incredible cheetah sightings! 🤩🐆 I'm so glad you made it back home safe and sound, I can only imagine how tired you must still be, but filled with all the magical memories only a trip of Kruger can produce. It was such a pleasure meeting you and chatting with you. I'll never forget that first morning when we had just missed the leopard and you had it all to yourself. Lucky fish! 😝 And of course to see a fellow Kruger lover in a Kwid was the cherry on top! Glad to hear that you ventured down serious gravel roads, and you were richly rewarded too! I'm sure the plans for your next Kruger trip are brewing in the back of your mind, as ours are already, and I hope we run into one another again next time. Thank you for watching our videos, we appreciate it so much! 😁🚙
Thank you for sharing in our excitement. You know that this place has been our special place for a very long time and it was so amazing to visit again. Your place on our backseat is permanently booked and we look forward to showing you what Day 2 and beyond brought. You were with us in spirit every moment, that I can assure you. 🤩🚙
Amazing video! Thanks for sharing! It have a good idea about what a self drive safari in Kruger could be. We've just about started exploring such a trip, and this came across as a very natural video, without any drama, anything artificial, and showed us the vibe of such a trip for a nature loving couple! Keep up your great work, and happy travels to the Kruger!
You have excellent sound. I wish you could have seen my cat at the sound of the Jackal. I am going to enjoy this trip, my favorite place in the whole world.
Thank you! We finally have a sound system that works well for us. 😁 I wish I could've seen your cat. 😍 We had four in the house at one point and I remember how they cocked their heads and ears at the different sounds. I do miss observing them. They were like little lionesses in the house. I hope you enjoy each episode. Kruger is the ultimate magical place. 🚙🤩
I know that jealous feeling all too well, I feel it all the time when we're not in Kruger! I hope you enjoy this series as you relax on our backseat. 😁🚙
Yay, back in Kruger! We were there in April/May this year. We now live in Australia. We had fantastic sightings of leopard x 3! A ranger told us it's a tower of giraffe. The first one probably a brown snake eagle. True eagles have feathers down to the feet. Snake eagles have bare legs. I'd say the eagle is possibly a tawny eagle. We also stayed in the same 4 bed huts at Lower Sabi, but the next block up.
Our happy place indeed! Or happiest happy place actually, as Sonia likes to say! 😝 We love everything about it and we hope you'll enjoy it too. You've only been watching our videos for a few short months, but have gone through our entire library I think, so it's always fantastic to hear from you and to have you on board! 🚙🤩
I started watching you from your Kruger trip last year, something genuine and authentic about your videos, do invest on a better camera guys, your content might have been just for fun but it’s ‘influencer’ worthy
Well, hello there and welcome back! We missed you and were wondering where you've disappeared to. You most certainly have a valid excuse gallavanting all over Europe. It sounds like you had a fantastic time. 🤩🌏 We were super excited to back in our favourite place and look forward to having you back on the backseat. You may not have met Sandy yet, but she is a permanent fixture in the back window now, alongside our darling Dusty. 😍🐻 You'll be happy to know that we heard plenty of Dutch accents during the remainder of our trip, but not that particular morning at Afsaal. Thank you for being here to watch our Kruger series, we appreciate that!
Group of giraffe when moving is called a journey of giraffe ands when standing still they are called a tower of giraffe Group of Zebra is called a dazzle of Zebra
33 days! You must've had an amazing time. I have no doubt that you'll be back again and again. After having rediscovered Kruger in 2023, we just can't stay away either! 😍🚙
@@DustBugsTravel i Keep record of all our Kruger trips and this last trip was our 80th visit and almost 4000 photo's and 250 video's. Wish that i can live there permanently.
No 🙈 Curtis again, we see so many animals of the Kruger Park. On Sa Daily Update to fbook. We did the Kruger Park in our motor home and last year when we return from Mozambique. Thanks for this series but we will rejoin later. Be safe.
No worries, that's all good! 👍 We don't concern ourselves in the slightest with other travel content available online. Everyone does Kruger in their own unique way. We travel for our own enjoyment and choose to share our videos with others who may also enjoy them for what they are: our experiences. We happen to love Kruger and will always return and make more videos. 🤩🚙
I enjoy watching your vids, its like am sitting on back seats. What camera do you have on the top of your cat and how do you control it? One more question what software do you use when you do the animation on the maps. Going to the Kruger in Dec... love it
All our filming is done with my regular Samsung S22 Ultra cellphone, mounted on a selfie-stick and I often film out of the vehicle window, so you may have seen its reflection and thought it was a camera on the roof. 🚙📱I use Da Vinci Resolve for all our map animation. Have a fantastic trip in December, we're jealous! 😁
No worries, entirely your choice. 😁 Our videos are completely free to watch, but will always have ads. Travelling is expensive and every bit of ad revenue helps us put gas in the tank. 🚙⛽
Could the bird in question, around 30:38, be a crested hawk eagle? We had many eagle sightings during all those years I lived in Colorado. Beautiful magestic bird. In Native American lore, it's said that when you see an animal that appears to you a lot, not following or stalking you, but just continually appearing, then this is your totem animal. 🥰 And later, around 38:57, is it a golden eagle?
Sonia and I both discovered on this trip that bird identification is not something that we'll specialise in. It's SUPER difficult to accurately identify. We took two (good, thick) bird books along this time and that didn't even help us out all the time. 😖 I'm not really the one to say, but I don't think we get Crested Hawk Eagles and Golden Eagles locally. We believe the birds in our part of the world differ greatly from the birds found in, say, the US for example. But, again, we're not bird experts, even in the slightest. Other viewers seemed to think that the first one was a Brown Snake Eagle and the other a Martial Eagle. For us, it's sufficient that they're such stunning birds, irrespective of what their names may be. 😍🦅
Glad to see you guys are back in the Kruger, I enjoyed your last visit so much and hope this time it will be just as good or even better.
I hope you enjoy this series as much as the last one. We had even more fun, if that's even possible. Thank you for watching! 😁🚙
I tell you Sonja and Curtis my cheeks are so sore from smiling witnessing all those lovely animals.
Great looking forward to the new Kruger series
Good to hear, thank you! 🚙👌🏻

I AM SO JEALOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS !!!!!!
I know that jealous feeling all too well, I feel it all the time when we're not in Kruger! I hope you enjoy this series as you relax on our backseat. 😁🚙
Baie dankie vriende.
It is only our pleasure to bring you the beauty of this magical, magical place! 😍🚙
I loved following you on your journey through the KNP last year and am excited for this trip. You are both amazing people, thanks for sharing 🐆🦡🦓🐒🥂🍾
We also stayed in the same 4 bed huts at Lower Sabi, but the next block up.
yes it was a martial eagle
Thank you for confirming, what a magnificient bird! 😍🦅
There is a herd of Sable in the south. Spotted near Malelane
Yup, I can believe that. The south is where they like to hang out. They're such magnificent creatures, but so very hard to spot! 😍🦌
Just cant wait to be there next year we will be travelling from the uk. Love your filming and series
Kruger is the best.
It's wonderful to see you at Kruger park again with all the lovely animals. Your happy place!
🤗
Hippo bring the cow back to his harem....
Group of giraffe when moving is called a journey of giraffe ands when standing still they are called a tower of giraffe
Group of Zebra is called a dazzle of Zebra
Thanks for the info! I'll try and remember those terms when I see the animals again! 🦓🦒
Nice. There is no place on earth like the Kruger. i Returned on the 10th after 33 days in the Kruger but next year i'll be back.
White legs....swartborsslangarend
Thank you! Bird identification is a VERY difficult thing to master. 🦅
@@DustBugsTravel thank you so much, we try go to the kruger at least once a year to get away from the JHB rush...thank you for the reply.
Sorry too many ads.
No worries, entirely your choice. 😁 Our videos are completely free to watch, but will always have ads. Travelling is expensive and every bit of ad revenue helps us put gas in the tank. 🚙⛽
You are spiteful, passed Alberton and didn't pick me up to go with.....sies julle twee....😢😂
We were at the agreed pick-up point at the agreed time, but you must've been late! 😝 Luckily you can still join us as we share our series with you! 😁🚙
And later, around 38:57, is it a golden eagle?
Edit: Black-breasted Snake Eagle. I can't even get the names right! 😳🦅
😅
C'mon Dust Bugs, stop teasing us down under, put up Day 2 etc. Please
😁 Greetings to you down under! I'll give you Days 2, 3 and 4 this week! I hope you enjoy! 🤩🚙
Baie Dankie.
YOU SHOULD ADD A ROOF RACK ON TOP OF YOUR CAR WITH 2 COMFY CHAIRS AND A COOLER BOX !!! IMAGINE THE PICTURES AND VIDEOS FROM UP THERE !!!!
You are not allowed to do that and besides you sticking up above the roof will scare the animals away for the other people.
