Carlock (drums) & Herington (guitar) = Incredible musicians. = Super Talented Band up-and-down the entire lineup. Love Steely Dan. R.I.P. Walter Becker. oNe LovE from NYC
The Big switcheroo, Everything is inverted! Tartaria....Free Energy! I think they brought the Whites from Africa....Into the America's after the last Reset/Cataclysm.....
Agree but they started playing it as a shuffle/funky vibe years before this when WB was still alive. My guess is Becker came up with the idea as a goof, his whacky humor. The backup singers all had big afros so the whole thing came across very 70s funk. I might be wrong, just my opinion.
Keith is great, but I actually don't like the way he plays this. The way Bernard left the bass drum out of the instrumental portions sounded better imo - should have kept that intact.
One of the most hypnotic opening riffs in the Steely Dan songbook.
Saw them a few nights ago, and they performed this. Phenomenal sound and fantastic concert! I was blown away!!
Cuando los vistes,? Que afortunadop
Omg will I ever get to see them live b4 I leave this planet!....
I was there, what a great show.
This version is so groovy. It’s refreshing to have a steady grove throughout the whole track.
Electrifying!
Seen them all,Steely Dan the greatest band of Alllllll.
Incrediblely Talented Musicians !!!!!
Missing the “surge” the original recording had on the stanzas. Hypnotic

Keith Carlock is amazing, but this song is NOT a shuffle.
Live versions are always altered. Theyve even played Reelin in the Years as a jazz tune... were you bitching about that too?

Oh, no. The tempo is way too lethargic!
Nice! What level were your seats? Seeing them this October at the Beacon and am interested
0omg the drumming! ... got to n one of the toughest bands to drum for! .
keith carlock. One of the best. John Herrington on guitar.

Carlock is amazing! I saw him play with Steelie Dan live and was impressed with all of his work! He is super tight.
