    A South Asian pickle, known as achar, aachar, athanu, achaar or loncha, is a pickled food, native to the Indian subcontinent, made from a variety of vegetables and fruits, preserved in brine, vinegar, or edible oils along with various Indian spices.
    Indian pickles are generally pickled with oil, vinegar, lemon juice or water. Indian pickles are often made into fresh relish and chutney, which provides additional flavours to food. Many types of foods in Indian cuisine are pickled, such as mangoes gooseberries and lemons. Some Indian families have family recipes for pickles and chutney, passed down through generations.
    In India, there are two main types of achaar, one is made with mustard oil, while the other is without oil. Lime pickle is made by putting the lime in the salt. |

    Salt ??

  • @ryun90
    @ryun90 3 роки тому

    Some Chinese said this, what do you think? Pickle originated in China. In Wuding period of Shang Dynasty more than 3100 years ago, Chinese working people could use salt to pickle plum for cooking. It can be seen that the salted vegetables in China should be earlier than the book of songs and should have originated in the Shang and Zhou dynasties 3100 years ago.
