I used to have about 20 palettes and now I only have 5-7 at any one time and it's so much better, no more getting overwhelmed by too much choice or palettes I will never get enough use out of before they expire! (But I also understand that as a youtuber you need more variety and such a low number is less achievable)

Ugh this question is so hard! I have a lot of eyeshadow palettes but they're all bangers, I truly believe every single one has a place in my collection. That said: Neutral: ABH Sultry Colourful: Colourpop Malibu Barbie (underrated imo, something about their square pan formula is so good) Mix of both: Colourpop The Child My all-time favourite: Huda Rose Quartz For texture: Flower Beauty Jungle Lights because I think it would play well with the others
The Colourpop The Child palette has such a hold on me. I've hit 2 pans on it and I just love it. I could never get rid of it. I'll even clean out and keep the packaging after the shadows are too old to use
I use one palette for each month now. And I've decluttered and sold a lot of new or like new palettes especially super colorful ones as I'm more into nude tones now. I'm really cutting down my collection to be more minimalistic and more happy. I don't need all that stuff to be happy. 🎉
I tend to go for a variety of pinks, purples, and blues for the eyes, so I'd have to go with Athr Manifest, Athr Moonlight, and Colourpop's Petals en Pointe, Blush Crush, and Making Mauves. If I was allowed a bonus or two, I'd check out Sigma New Mod and Flower Beauty Desert Lights because they look beautiful!

I actually only have 5 palettes at the moment. I sadly had to declutter two recently, one of them has gone off and the other one didn’t perform well for me. The palettes I have left now are the Beauty Bay Wilderness, Geologie Cosmetics Pilbara, ATHR Beauty Ametrine, Natasha Denona Mini Retro and Mini Biba.

I've been eyeing a couple of the new Devinah shadows, but I was feeling a little guilty, like I already have so much, can I really justify buying more eyeshadow? I honestly, after a declutter of super old palettes (all of my collection) last year and starting over, currently only have 5 palettes lol. And I think that while I love them and feel great about the colors I have now, I do want more shimmers. What I have are: the Viserart petite mattes palettes in both Dark and Neutral, the Blend Bunny Blends palette, Oden's Eye Hela, and Nomad Whistler Snow Lodge. 😊 I actually have the Flower Beauty Desert Lights palette on my wishlist for shimmer shades.
I've just ordered a custom palette from Lethal and I'm so excited for it to get here! 😊 so that would be one palette, then in no particular order- 2. Beauty Bay Berries- 16 pan 3. Beauty Bay Earthy- 16 pan 4. BPerfect- Antidote palette 5. Two Faced Light my Fire Oooh 5th spot was hard! Honourable mention to my BB pastels which is a great companion palette and my Revolution X Beetlejuice palette!
Palettes draw me in because of how pretty they are but the reality is I'm more of a single shadow girl. When l use my palettes l generally only use 1-2 colours in a look which I suppose isn't overly cost effective. I'm trying not to buy them for now!
Your Lethal Cosmetics palette reminds me of Mel Thompson's Sydney Grace palette very much. And that is the first palette I would keep. Then ND Glam, ND Mini Love, Tarte Large original Juicy palette and my Makeup Geek singles.

I own two pallets, Sigma (New Mod+Ambiance and Delilah). I actually rearranged my Sigma Ambiance and New Mod and put all my favourite colours from both of them into one pallet. I got rid of all the glittery eyeshadows, fed up with all the glitter ending up on my face, love the shimmery ones.
My 5 would be Colourpop That's Taupe for cool tones, Colourpop Nude Mood for warm tones, Glamlite Paint Pro for colour, Colourpop By the Rose for Rosy shades, then maybe Too Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes palette. This is a weird one because in my normal collection, this one doesn't stand out to me because I can get the same shades in a lot of palettes but when cutting down my collection size, it gives me the neutrals I love and the glitters I love in one palette
I would keep Roen 11:11, Roen 75 degrees, Urban Decay Stoned Vibes, ColourPop So Jaded, and Tresluce La Flor De Mexico. Those include my favorite matte shades, enough colorful shades, and lots of beautiful sparkles. I used to have so many palettes but I am currently at less than 10 and can create everything I want to.

I'm too weak to choose 5. The list below would satisfy all of my desire for variety. A maximalist minimal list. Everything I want and need in a minimal eyeshadow palette collection. An Knook Pro (Sigma) Great mix of warm and cool neutrals with some blue and purple in tones I'm loving right now. Serenity (Menagerie) The greens and that beautiful shimmery light blue. Muah. Chef's kiss. Warm Wishes (Sigma) The gold and taupe shimmer. To die for. Jungle Lights (Flower Beauty) The pink purple shade is gorgeous. I could wear this every day and feel pretty. There is a carmel toned brown that I occasionally love to go for too. Cinderella (Sigma) I love the neutrals and the warm purple. The blue shimmer and the other sparkly shimmers are cherries on the sundae. I do recommend glitter glue for these sparkly shades. New Mod (Sigma) I love the cool toned side of this and the berries are done just right. It's so sultry. Alice in Wonderland (Sigma) I love the duality that the silver and gold provide. I will ofen take 1 or 2 mattes and use either the silver or gold and it is so pretty and it offers so much variety. Untamed (Sigma) I love the camel / mustardy tones. The light purple sparkly shimmer over a glitter glue makes me think of mermaids and fairies. Its magical. Pastel Dreams (Give Me Glow Cosmetics) The perfect pastel palette. It works well on its own and as a companion palette. The mattes are perfect transition shades for colorful looks and the shimmers are so beautiful. It is so whimsical. Dirty Martini (Glamlite) : This is an add in because I'm too weak to stuck to the script. This is a, why not, keep it around for some fun. The minty shade and the light orange sparkly shade are just so good. The mauvy shimmer is interesting to. Almost a multichrome. Chocolate Martini (Glamlite) : A perfect companion to Dirty Martini. Often when I dupe the vibes of a palette I want to buy I will pair Chocolate Martini and Dirty Martini. The mauve and sparkly pink this palette itself make a banger of a look too. I was looking through my palete just now and quite a few I keep for 1 look that consists of using 2 or 3 shades of 14 or 15 in each palette. I keep jungle lights for the pinky purple shade, the warm wishes palette for gold and the taupe and sprinkle a little magic for the matte green. The list goes on.
I could pare mine down to two, both from ColourPop: Stone Cold Fox and Aurora Struck. For traveling, I’d probably take Making Mauves also from CP. So, three actually. No doubt, these will change over time.

I have 4 bronzey neutrals , 3 jeweled tones & 3 neutrals with pops of colors that is just enough for rainbow looks 👌 😊 plus I have double-sided Adept magnetic palette filled with singles & depotted shadows 😀 😄 I could only have that one 🎉🎉
So hard to decide...I would keep my ColourPop Disney Princess Palette to make neutral looks, my ColourPop The Child palette because it might be my favorite, my Menagerie Violet Ink and Feral palettes for the colorful mattes (and 2 beautiful duochromes) and my Urban Decay Stoned Vibes palette because those sparkly shades would be beautiful toppers for all the colors I've kept (and the neutrals in that palette make an easy look). I would miss all my other palettes though...even though I only wear cool toned neutrals once a month...
I think for me, to have the variety of colors I like, I would go with mostly Colourpop. I can’t actually list specific palettes because I don’t actually have any palette that is original. I find I usually gravitate towards certain shades in a palette, so in an effort to minimize I usually will combine 2-3 of their nine pan palettes into 1 palette.
That's what I did with my Sigma Ambiance and New Mod. I made a new palette with all the colours I actually love and use and got rid of all the unused ones, especially the glittery eyeshadows, don't like the "disco ball" look anymore).
Sarah, have you tried the Patrick Ta Rose palette (the second one)? I’ve had my eye on it but the Sigma New Mod looks like it might be able to fill that role in my collection

This was so much easier than I thought it would be! I’d miss a bunch that didn’t make the cut, but these are the ones I couldn’t live without. 1. ABH Sultry- you’ll take that out of my cold dead hands 2. Melt Gemini - one of my absolute faves 3. Colourpop The Child - the silver-green shimmer is the best shade ever (esp with Gemini) 4. Nomad Haunted Europe - so many yummy warm and cool shades with great shimmers 5. Odens Eye Hela - color story is perfect and fun with different formulas.
I would keep; Natasha Denona Glam, Natasha Denona Biba, ABH Nouveau, Huda Rose Quartz, Huda Mercury Retrograde. It gives me all the nudes and colours I like.

I agree, the New Mod looks much more appealing to me than ABH Modern Renaissance and more wearable.
💯 agreed. Some of the red shades are really hard to wear in the Modern Renaissance. I started using some of them as powder blushes

I only have two single cream eyeshadows and that's my whole eyeshadow collection. But I think it would be fun to branch out and maybe get a pallet.

So hard to decide...I would keep my ColourPop Disney Princess Palette to make neutral looks, my ColourPop The Child palette because it might be my favorite, my Menagerie Violet Ink and Feral palettes for the colorful mattes (and 2 beautiful duochromes) and my Urban Decay Stoned Vibes palette because those sparkly shades would be beautiful toppers for all the colors I've kept (and the neutrals in that palette make an easy look). I would miss all my other palettes though...even though I only wear cool toned neutrals once a month...
I think for me, to have the variety of colors I like, I would go with mostly Colourpop. I can’t actually list specific palettes because I don’t actually have any palette that is original. I find I usually gravitate towards certain shades in a palette, so in an effort to minimize I usually will combine 2-3 of their nine pan palettes into 1 palette.
That's what I did with my Sigma Ambiance and New Mod. I made a new palette with all the colours I actually love and use and got rid of all the unused ones, especially the glittery eyeshadows, don't like the "disco ball" look anymore).
Sarah, have you tried the Patrick Ta Rose palette (the second one)? I’ve had my eye on it but the Sigma New Mod looks like it might be able to fill that role in my collection
I haven’t! I was thinking about getting it but several people told me that palette went moldy within like a year of owning it so I decided not to 😅

This was so much easier than I thought it would be! I’d miss a bunch that didn’t make the cut, but these are the ones I couldn’t live without.
1. ABH Sultry- you’ll take that out of my cold dead hands
2. Melt Gemini - one of my absolute faves
3. Colourpop The Child - the silver-green shimmer is the best shade ever (esp with Gemini)
4. Nomad Haunted Europe - so many yummy warm and cool shades with great shimmers
5. Odens Eye Hela - color story is perfect and fun with different formulas.
I would keep; Natasha Denona Glam, Natasha Denona Biba, ABH Nouveau, Huda Rose Quartz, Huda Mercury Retrograde. It gives me all the nudes and colours I like.
Hmmm… today it would be ND Lila, ND Green Brown; UD Naked Honey, Huda Rose Quartz, and GXVE Just a Girl Quad. But there’s no way I’d purposefully only have 5 palettes, lol!
