- "This Guy's In Love With You," written by Burt Bacharach and originally performed by Herb Alpert in 1968 (though it's been covered countless times) performed by Noel Gallagher.
I was at this concert. It was quite something when Noel came out - we had no idea!
To see Burt on the album cover of Definitely Maybe, showed us how much of an influence he was to Noel , and to many many other musicians. RIP Mr. Bacharach. 😢
This is one of Noel's best voice work in my opinion. So soft spoken and genuinely delivered, on the spot
Yeah fully agree. At points you hear the raw manc power brewing and come through. What a song and what a couple of f****** legends!
God. I didn't know Noel was such a fantastic crooner
derwaechter01 still is in his own way!
All that talent wrapped up in one little song. His mum must have loved this.
Never knew this even existed till today. Best thing Noel’s done. RIP BB
The rarest, most beautiful gem I have ever found.
Can't believe I was there in a front row seat...and I didn't even know who Noel was at the time!
What a beautiful version Noel made! R. I. P Burt Freeman Bacharach ( May 12, 1928 - February 8, 2023)
Noel does this one justice.
imagine him doin it now, would blow this out the water
Soprano Fan You are not wrong!
Masterpiece.
Two genius together.
What a version! Noel at his best.
Liam: I’m the best singer in Oasis
Noel: Hold my guitar
Liam is though
literally hold my guitar. he said this is the only performance he did without a guitar
@@badgasaurus4211 cap
@@joosuahuopaniemi471 Truth. Noel is average.
@@badgasaurus4211 there is a quality in Noels tone in spots that strongly suggest he is far better than average
Brilliant 👏 what a different sound of noels voice, love it ❤️
Es cierto demasiado, maravilloso, pero la vida, la música, que es casi todo, nos depara sorpresas mágicas un dúo marciano gracias por el registro, la eternidad, el sonido no se detiene.
What a surprise, didn't think noel would have wanted to be accociated with this type of music, I like it.
he gets the idea for Half The World Away from this song.
He's fan from Burt Bacharach
He loves burt bacharach. Check out the cover for definitely maybe and you'll see a big pic of burt bacharach
@@ads2686 This appearance at the Royal Festival Hall came out of Burt approaching Noel in a Los Angeles hotel bar asking "are you the guy who put me on his record sleeve?"
@Mike Denton really? didn't know that. you know how noel discovered burt? his mate asked if he had ever heard of him and noel said No, fruend put on a record and noel knew every song just didn't know who did them.
RIP Burt you’ll not be forgotten❤
Never heard it before but GOSH! I Just can't believe this is Noel's voice from 90's :O
Beautiful ❤️

You see this guy, this guy's in love with you
Yes I'm in love who looks at you the way I do
When you smile I can tell it know each other very well
How can I show you I'm glad I got to know you 'cause
I've heard some talk they say you think I'm fine
Yes I'm in love and what I'd do to make you mine
Tell me now is it so don't let me be the last to know
My hands are shakin' don't let my heart keep breaking 'cause
I need your love, I want your love
Say you're in love, in love with this guy
If not I'll just die
Tell me now is it so don't let me be the last to know
My hands are shakin' don't let my heart keep breaking 'cause
I need your love, I want your love
Say you're in love, in love with this guy
If not I'll just die
It’s actually 1st July 1996 , Royal Festival Hall
Perfect... don't let my heart keep breaking
Listen to Terry Hall's version and come back and see me.
Génialissime
Brought here via the Rockonteurs!!
Why no vid of this performance ?
Same
It wasn't broadcasted in no way, we're already lucky to have this bootleg.
Would love to hear Noel cover this again as a tribute to Burt.
He actually recorded one but has no idea if it will ever be released
@@jagmaharesi2486 yeah, apparently he'd worked with Burt a little just before he died. Would love to hear it.
The Chief the legend Noel Gallagher
I think this was actually Royal Festival Hall and a few years after 1994.
96
summer of 1996
It was 96 btw
What is this from?
Fue en sus inicios, pero su voz sigue igual de impecable, ahora no lo hacen cantar sin su guitarra :)
Does anyone know what happened to the interview with Noel talking about this song?
Not specifically, but Noel has spoken often about what a great songwriter Burt is. His photo was on the Definitely Maybe album cover for a reason, Noel's a fan.
He spoke about it on the Rockenteurs podcast epsiode with Noel on.
It was in 1996 not '94
1996
It was 1996, not 94
I thought this was ‘96 x
Proof if ever it were needed, amongst all the songs that Noel sang lead on, that Oasis really never needed Liam. He was a passenger throughout.
hahahaha are you drunk???
@@PepeSaez_Arquitectura Nope. Are you?
WRONG
@@MattyDee2112 Nope - all the best Oasis songs are the ones Noel sang lead on.
Noel singing without a guitar looks odd
I didn't know he could sing!
Not every damn song has to be sung slavishly hitting every note, but the tonal imprecision just doesn't fit, especially at the outset when the lovely melody should be strongly established. This vocal style is fine, but for this song and this arrangement it's not expressive, it just sounds sloppy. Honestly, the lyrics are a bit silly, and this tune has always fared better as an instrumental.
His voice is exposed here, he can't manage it
Are you high?
I'm gonna be that person and say this is too much of a song for him...pass.
Check Aretha's for a change, she delivers for real!
Very harsh. Noel delivers this iconic song just fine, as 1 wud expect from the chief and big fan of B B.
There are thousands of people who would sing this song better than him. But understand, Noel was and is a rock star and Burt Bacharach has a lot to be thankful for for having had more visibility through Oasis for new generations. And this presentation was really good. He's a good singer.
