My assumption on the “talking to plants helps them grow” myth is that when you are “talking” to the plant, you are more mindful of them and thus you will be much more likely to properly water them, fertilize them and clear them of pests.
I reckon it's also because as you're talking you're exhaling Carbon Dioxide onto the leaves, which they then breath in, and release oxygen in exchange. So I guess talking to your plants also helps us! 😃😂

There is South American trees from the same group as Datura/Brugmansia which can kill you at night when pollinating. In Colombia the sap of their leaves is used to poison people with scopolamine.

A question has been bothering me for many years. Is bonsai a cruelty to plants.
Hi. I used to think exactly like you few years ago. But now u have a small collection of bonsai’s. It’s not a cruelty at all due to many explanations and thoughts like : Pruning or trimming plants is great for them, plants lack nervous system to feel pain, growing any plant in a pot as done by many is not a cruelty and so on.
