Stop making fun of a religion
Please continue making fun of this ridiculous concept
@@RileyRosensweigthis isn't making fun of a religion. It's a fact that plenty of kids die unnecessarily because of their refusal to have anyone get blood. Since kids are reliant of their parents approval, they just die. If you're a parent with some sense and get your kid that blood transfusion they need to live, you get shunned. Your husband/wife, mom, dad, sister, brother, etc. They will force you out of their home including your kid because they're now tainted.
If you're an adult who died because of your religious beliefs, you chose to die. Those kids are innocent and are being left to die.
My aunt is Catholic and her husband was a Jehovah’s Witness. She needed a blood transfusion after the birth of my cousin and her husband refused to permit it. So my Catholic grandfather, who had a 30 year career as a sergeant in the US army and survived 2 tours in Vietnam, dragged her husband out of the hospital and proceeded to beat the daylight out of him. My grandfather told her husband that he could grant the permission or he’d knock every tooth out of his mouth and break his face in. Her husband gave permission, police were called and gave my grandfather a warning, and my aunt survived. This was in Puerto Rico in the 90s. On his deathbed, my grandfather told his son that he gave his daughters everything except good sense (my aunt refused to divorce her husband who has since converted to Catholicism), and asked him to keep protecting the girls once he’s gone. My grandfather passed away 2 years ago.

my grandmother is somewhat in my life, i've met her before, and she's a lot better than she was in the past, but with my mom, there's still some tendencies that trigger her, so we don't talk to her much, which is fine with me, i do understand my mom's worries.

its probably some sort of rebellion/trauma response,
Happens a lot.
A whole bunch of people only realise how much religion is hurting them after they see consequences of it. Consequences like losing a spouse, the kids cutting contact etc.

Although I don’t identify as a Jehovah’s Witness, the fact that people die proves that there is a higher power in control.
@@user-yc4qb9pd3d79Umm. No that just proves that people die.

One of the reasons why I left that cult. I was 13 dying from cancer and was told if I don’t get the transfusion I will die before the week is up. My mom refused the blood and said it was okay because jehovah will take care of you and you’ll be resurrected one day. The hospital took us to court because they didn’t want me to die and my mom hated them for it and thought when I got the blood the donor blood would change my DNA and that was her reason to why I was “crazy for leaving jehovah” not the almost killing me or abuse they bestow on you from a child.
A blood transfusion doesn't change your dna blood doesn't work that way. Also that hospital was right for doing that glad your here with us today.
That’s wild!
I grew up JW and this was my all time fear. I knew if I got Leukemia or something requiring a blood transfusion before the age of 18 my parents would have willingly let me die I breathed a sigh of a relief becoming an adult and leaving that shit show of a situation. My parents have nothing to do with me now.
I’m so glad that hospital was there for you! Hope you’re doing well now!
Lol, I needed a blood transfusion when I was born cause my mother's white blood cells where atacking me. I guess under your mom's logic, Im not my parents daugther(?
My adopted older brother left that religion in part due to the blood transfusion issue as a young man. My family has been Baptist and he asked my Dad why he didn't try to convert him and my Dad told him "God brought me to you, and you found your way to Him". He also stated he would do everything possible to save the lives of those he loved and held dear. That the God he believes in would want us to live and not die for something that could be prevented. I do wonder if that religion would permit you to have your own blood drawn and stored before any major surgery or if you are compatible with a direct family member if they could donate to the other in need.
my understanding is that JWs cannot take blood that has been taken from the body in any way. So no, autologous and directed units would not be options for them either, since it is not a safety matter but a religious matter. For a major surgery, they tend to sign up for "bloodless surgery" to minimize blood loss.
I know some who do allow to be given their own blood ....but any other persons blood is a no go ...relative or not

@@thephoenix2309it's based off misinterpretation of a scripture in the old testament that says that believers shouldn't ingest blood from any source. The scripture was referring to blood from sacrificed animals. You were supposed to drain the blood and cook all the fat off the meat as an offering to God. Then the priests would eat the rest of the offering.
blood only stores for 30 days. No hospital banks blood for individuals before elective surgery.
I was in the hospital as a baby for getting a surgery on my head and the person next to me who was around maybe 12-14? Was a Jehovah’s Witness along with her family who was obviously with her. Well it turns out she needed a blood transfusion but her parents absolutely refused, the doctors tried to talk to them and convince them or else their daughter would die. Unfortunately they still refused to save their daughter. My father who was in the room with my mom loudly told me mom that basically its stupid choosing your religion instead of saving your own daughter’s life. Almost happened to my friend after an awful car crash, his dad (wasn’t a jehovah and lived halfway across the country, barely ever spoke to him) had to approve the transfusion bc his mom was jehovah. He finally got a payout from the case (good amount of money) recently and his mom now feels entitled to it and keeps asking him to pay bills for her. @@bazwaz6297 zilch! He’s just been laughing about it. He’s getting married this year and buying a house, the money is going to good use for him and his fiancé!

I’m pretty sure there’s other options to save her since they can’t take blood transfusions
Idk because religion is kinda weird in itself. Because like I’m a Christian but for me it’s way more about my relationship with God then what religion I am. But God always wants what is best for you so you would think that the blood transfusion would be what is best but in the end it was Gods will for the family to turn out how it did and God has a plan for the rest of all there individual lives. Idk I would not do something because religion forbids it but I would do something if God really doesn’t want me to.
Madness crawls in everyone’s minds in different forms religion is just one of them
Well clearly she’s dead.
As a Jehovah’s Witness myself, no. Plus, there are other options like pills or supplements.
Edit: i dont think you guys understand that i am LITERALLY SPEAKING FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE when my sister was giving birth and losing mass amounts of blood my mom gave her a supplement and she was perfectly fine.
Edit 2: none of you say you respect every religion ever again. 💀

All of you witnesses saying there are other options, there isn't. This is a critical moment, and blood is crucial. You can try supplements, but if you're losing too much blood, too quick, and your body isn't making enough to catch up, then this is the only way. I tried taking iron for 2 days through IV, but I was going to go into cardic arrest because of the lack of blood and continuation of bleeding.
You can get man made blood . Why didn’t iron IV help you? I had 2 blood iron transfusions that saved me from having a heart attack as I was extremely low in iron .
@cherrymetha3185 because my hemoglobin was at 3, and I was still bleeding vaginally profusely. It takes time for your body to make blood. They can give you synthetics, but if they can't stop the bleeding and you get too low, putting some gas in the tank is better than nothing. Why does hospitals need permission to save someone's life. Hospitals needs to proceed if guardians disallows life saving procedures . Hospitals should be given rights to proceed.
If you don't have consent it's assault.
Because patients have the right to refuse treatment.
If a patient has cancer and wants to just die; you can’t strap them down and inject chemotherapy into them / perform surgery. Doctors need consent.
A doctor should be allowed to give that transfusion without any permission.

Laws aside, from a moral point of view I say the doctor has the right and the duty to tell the partner to buzz off and give the patient this life saving treatment.

I had to grow up with Jehovah Witness parents and it was hard. But it was deadly for my cousin who died bc the surgeons were not able to remove her benign brain tumor completely - the risk of bleeding was too high.
@@kenny995 wow really? It’s like creating a problem where it doesn’t exist
The Watchtower and JW are famous cults in the place where I live too. My family and church always warn me about their absurd beliefs and have taught me to stay away from them.
During a huge fight that had me and my sister, and my parents... my mom was upset that my sister didn't want my mom to have some of her, my sister's, Halloween candy. My mom barrated is for being ungrateful even though it was already set in some that our mom was not allowed the candy. When my Dad found out he went ballistic, tearing the place up and down throwing away all the candy in the house, cursing us out while doing so, in the process he says how he and our mom are the Gods of the house since the gave life to us...I am not a heavly devoted Christan and I barely read the Bible... But I will never forget that or forgive them for saying that, they even laughed about it after. I know my sister should have been nicer about this but I now know how low my parents are willing to go to be a higher power than us.
So saving a woman is not ok but abusing and drinking alcohol is okay? What in the no logic is that
as a jehovah’s witness, nobody said it was okay. no one should be abusive nor an alcoholic. but it’s common for people to grow out of their religion over time.
The video didn’t say that 🤦🏻♀️
It is not ok. And they said he ‘left’. I bet he was made to leave.
Right?!?! Why do we tolerate this??? Why?!?! Why? So someone can have religious freedom??? Well... what happens when that religion kills people? Is it still freedom? Is it still a religion???
That's the logic of all religions - to promote patriarchy
I feel so bad for this child.
And for the mom and the kid they didn’t deserve that at all
Wdym?
Imagine having the gal to look your daughter in the eye and tell her that your tenants mean more to you than her mothers life
i know for sure if you have the choice to save someone's life and refuse to do that, you are not seeing heaven
It's kinda insane that some people would do this
In Islam we have a very strict rule that says life over religion
Aka of there is something you MUST do to save your life or someone else's but it is not permitted in the religion take it
You get an excuse for saving the life
It's as simple as that
Yeah, I keep seeing so many people just go "all religions are like that" without looking into them. It's sad to see how people let themselves judge without knowing.
Started cussing the dad out from my phone screen.
When I was was a kid we used to fill out those in case of emergency cards for the school and take them in the first week of school. Mine had No Blood written really big and bold on the top. When I was in the fourth grade I remember asking why she wrote that in. She was trying to raise up Jehovahs witness and exsplained the pricples about the blood. I remember asking if I was going to die without would she let me die. She said I would be with god so it would be a good thing. That was a lot to take in on the car ride to school. We had a turbulent relationship after that and I fought her hard on going to meetings. She never could get me in the religion. She died 2 years ago from a bone cancer that if she had blood and treatment she could have years longer or beaten it. She declined and died 2 weeks and 1 day after diagnosis. She stood by her Jehovah witness principles to the grave. She definitely would have let me die.
So either way he ended up "betraying" his religion because he was drinking after.:/ As a LDS member, I'm highly glad no medical things are taken from us because of this.
That's Mormons, right ?
Wow. I’m speechless. Prayers for you both that’s tragic.
Idk if it was this channel or not but I just heard a story yesterday from a nurses point of view, with basically the same exact story 🥺
That’s why I’m an atheist, I would never choose religion in such a serious matter
I hear you, but there's a huge difference in religion and actually have a relationship with God. I'm a Christian and have never heard of blood transfusions not being allowed.
@@mi3helle707 I don’t know buddy, I’m not Christian like 10/15 years
@@mi3helle707You are correct. I myself am not associated with any churches, but I am a firm believer in God and do my best to follow the Ten Commandments and the law of my country. I strive to show compassion to everyone and help people, regardless of religion or whatever.
I would make the decision to save whoever needed saving. A life is far too precious.
Would you consider changing your mind about being an atheist?
I’m so sorry that you went through that. Keeping you in my prayers
That’s so screwed up, I’m sorry that happened to you both. Huge hug.
GOD SAYS FAMILY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING
SO SAVE YOUR FAMILY
I’m so sorry 😢 Ive heard stories like this, this gift of art is so beautiful,
Friends disown you? NO! Friends don't disown you.
Edit: Friends stick to you no matter what. They don't leave you for religion.
Disowned as in shunned and never spoken to again
If their friends were from church and they left the church the friends wouldn't be allowed to associate with them.
@@walabang437 yes dude they know what it meant. This person was saying friends won’t disown you. As in, if they disown you, they where not your friends to begin with
@@69kat69 it would have been "friends won't disown you" instead
I just realized disown auto to own-
I would offer my blood I'm not letting my mom die
its the authority thats the problem ...it is always the married partner's decision that gets followed in the case of unconscious people
Lost his wife and the mother of the children for his imaginary friend. Good job humanity.
As mush as I'm mad at what the dad did, it hard cos brainwashing does things to do and unless you take the huge jump and leave the religion behind, only then its easier to see the toxicity
That's why we lost "Selena" as well if she wasnt JW she most likely would've survived.
This was so tragic. I hope op is ok. And my opinion, as a religious trauma survivor, screw religion.
Selena Gomez's dead?
@@ktg3811 nope. its a different selena that is a celebrity and jw
@@ktg3811No it think they’re referring to Selena Quintanilla who was also a famous singer
Her parents should've been jailed for this. But no one wants to talk about that.
Are you serious ? I never heard about that actually
That’s my religion too and I had a family member that was also one and although he was in critical condition he and his parents refused to get a transfusion and he sadly passed.
They should have probably discussed the event of things going wrong beforehand with each other as well as with the doctors. But I guess will never know what the wife thought since she transitioned.
If he was a Jehovah she would have probably been too brainwashed to save herself. She would've wanted to die for her abusive skydaddy and abandoned anyone that actually loved her
I mean, she was a Jehovah’s Witness. Doesn’t that mean that she doesn’t want a blood transfusion? They might have even discussed it.
In maternity care, birth care plans are discussed. Being a JW it would have indeed be noted.
Haemorrhage during birth can be / is catastrophic. Thousands die worldwide from such a complication even with blood administered.
Exactly!
I would literally rather burn in hell than let my family member die over something that could have been prevented.
I'm so sorry Hun. My heart goes out to you ...
This is why I'm atheist, there can't be a 'AlL lOvInG gOd' because how would a loving being just sit back and let evil continue in the world, and not save us.
Blood transfusion wasn't invented back when the Bible was written. It said to just not consume blood and people have twisted it's meaning and made it out as you cant have a blood transfusion. But hey whatever, I'm an agnostic
I will never be a part of any church again. I've been shunned for being an outsider.
I'm sorry about that :/
I'm still a believer but I struggle with the church, too. I just never fit the mold. I'm lucky to have some christian friends who are amazing people (as well as non-christian friends who are also amazing people).
I hope you have such people in your life, too. Or that you can find them, because they do exist.
I’m so sorry you guys had to go thru that ❤
So you can't save your wife and the mother of your children but you can become alcoholic and abusive...? Another score for religion
“I’ll never forgive her forgiving birth to my little sibling” same
Just one of many things that make me strongly dislike those people.
So thankfull for Islam since one rule we have is that saving human life is always the priority so therefore we are allowed to make exceptions in critical situations.
Tbh if she was of the same faith, wouldn’t she have wanted it that way? If he saved her then she could have thought she was damned for the rest of her life and hated him for it.
Woww..That's just sad..
Poor kids..😢 I wish them a good life and a happy future.❤
What the heck with that belief!? I understand the important of religion but not to this blindness
i recommend you do your research on our religion.
@@hazbinussy i know, even my self been thought half year in the er due to extreme blood lost
This is the equivalent to
If you were on fire and I had a cup of water next to me I’d drink it.
This poor guy lost his mum when there was a chance to save her
Raised JW and left when I was 25. My mother almost died after her spleen burst due to a car accident when I was 16. I'm so sorry for what happened to you.
Theres a lot of religious people who take advantage of religion when i was growing up. Thats when i learned that you dont really need religion if you can just be a decent person
A lot of people don’t know this but our dear Selena Quintanilla died because of her parents, they didn’t sign the consent to give her a blood transfusion.
She had the transfusion though… her dad was pissed that she got it, but she did get the transfusion…. It was just too late at that point.
Family always comes before faith. Period.
Suddenly proud to not have a religion
Not all are the same
Me too
I know people aren't going to understand that term lol I mean even being christian you can avoid that. It means the church and bible. You can find god on your own if you want
@@phoenixonfire101 yep polytheistic ones don't commit genocide or command you to die
@@rubytiger13....well, you have a lot to learn.
this is so sad omg
This is so sad. I wish the mom could have filled out waivers on emergency decision choices. That reflected what she wanted. My condolences to the children.
The best example of how sometimes you need to step out of your religion to realize how shackled your thoughts are.
What’s crazy to me is how people will forget the most basic sense of right & wrong in blindly following religion.
Hope the kids are doing well
I hope I don't get to be someone so close to religion it blinds common sense. 😢
as a jehovah’s witness, obeying god is important. he’s GOD. he could simply resurrect her, which we WILL do.
do your research.

Religious is a major test of how kind or cruel humans are willing to be to each other under the guise of intense belief or life difficulties.
