not gonna hold it to you for not filming a lot at the track. bothering with a camera at a track day can take away from the experience. great update man, love the build so far!
You should consider the whole 9 yards for oil cooling/precautions. Killer B oil pan, tomei oil baffles, killer b pickup tube, AOS, and if you want to be very cautious the killer B oil control valve. I’d also recommend gauges so you can monitor your oil pressure and temps. Make sure you run good oil for track days as well.

@Origins Garage Oh no I 100% realise, it's just mental it's taken this long. I watch pretty much mainly UA-cam and these guys are madly impressive, I'd rate them up there with the best of all of the Car/bike stuff. Anyway hopefully they keep growing!
About 6 months ago I bought my JDM Legacy Spec B. Never thought I'd own a Subaru let alone a Subaru wagon but I just had to get one after watching some G&G. After an engine rebuild, I love it 😆👌
This is a build I am currently dreaming about. After my 14 XT was a disapointment (due to cvt) I want to go back to a 04-05 forester xt for a short get around car. I love the way an old forester box handles on good coilovers. Great work putting in the time, effort, and money in this car. Really impressive.
Not only coilover...a forester needs front subframe spacer delete, caster rotated top suspension mount and bigger aftermarket sway bars to be on same level as impreza sti
2004 forester 2.0X was my first car. Had it for a year and swapped it for 2006 BMW X3. I feel much better in it. bmw is my daily now and the forester is a weekend fun driver. still love it and im happy it was my first car ever. Tho i have to say you need to work on it by yourself or have a mechanic who knows about subarus.
I love your guys vids as always. The quality of the content is always amazing. The one complaint i have each time is i wish you guys uploaded more haha. Keep up the amazing work guys.
I've got an 06 wrx wagon, I'm running pinks with com-c tophats up front and group-n tophats in the back. I went with this setup over a coil over setup for the lack of maintenance. 22mm adjustable front (set soft in summer, hard in winter) and a 24mm adjustable rear sway bar (usually set hard year round), KB endlinks, rear subframe lockdown bolts & -1.8 front -1.2 rear camber settings, "zero toe" and the car is neutral rather than an understeer machine, get's a little oversteery in the winter though. I run a 17x8 with 235/45/17's in the summer (Michelin Pilot sport 4s) and 17x7 with 215/45/17 snows in the winter (general altimax arctic) I do run a 3mm hubcentric spacer in the front as well, might have to increase it and add one in the rear when I go 245/40/17's after this set of tires wears out. Honestly the suspension feels a bit harsh on bad pavement, but the car is sticky and turns in really nicely. If I could get my hands on a clean 06-08 forester I'd put the same suspension under it and would love to STi swap it; more wagon would be better.
Jacob Baker Welcome. I’ve have an 05 Impreza, a legacy wagon and an built 02 sti. Been in it for quite some time. So trust me when I say these forester mods are run of the mill
I am really enjoying these quality videos but mainly the good vibes from these guys. Happy, joking, informative and down to earth. Awesome stuff. Thanks. p.s - more road trip vids ;)
And to gain caster setting..just rotate your front coilover top hat so it raked to the rear of the car... Dont worry on camber...the stock knuckle bolt able to give around neg.1.6 to neg.2.2 degree of camber...
It’s my daily driver. I never intended to do this many modifications. Always the way. Every time. Got my spec c with no modifications but stuff like this wants me to start doing stuff to it.
Inwas always wondering why cant I see more content about modding a forester, now I have found a channel I can binge watch and probably do to my forester
For Brake Fluid, I would pass on the Motul. You can go with Wagner 5.1 fluid that you can buy at Pep Boys even for about the same price as the Motul, but your getting 2x's the size bottle.
Awesome video. Production value is the best as usual. I use porterfield carbon kevlar ceramic pads on the track and they work amazing. Also be sure to ass ss lines as that helps a lot. Very cool build and total sleeper. Nicely done mate.
An old friend of mine put a cash deposit on the first STI Forester brought Stateside. We were tuning Japanese cars years before the first Fast and Furious movie. I bought my first CRX Si 23yrs ago, long before the first Gran Turismo came out on playstation.
I definitely want to run air ride with where I live the roads are just ass so I like the idea of being able to change my set up at the push of a button.
Not a track guy or care about it. But I found your Forester XT build and finishing product super interesting and cool and others videos super cool. Two Thumbs Up.
0:36 Looks like your lower left brake light is out. I recommend Philips 7443 Red Vision LED bulbs (yes, they work with CK sockets as long as it's installed in the right orientation). If you have money to burn, you can import Philips Extreme Ultinon LED T20 Red W21/5 (12768x2), but I don't think it's worth the extra money.
You really need a larger hood scoop, the JDM one should fit (I have one on my 06) and they're not stupid expensive, maybe 250 bucks. Feed more air into that big GS intercooler. Might even be some shots of mine on my channel, not sure.
not gonna hold it to you for not filming a lot at the track. bothering with a camera at a track day can take away from the experience. great update man, love the build so far!
I agree and more importantly did it perform. (:
This Channel deserves more attention. Love the vid :D
"I never really intended to do this many modifications to it"....said every Subaru owner ever 😂
Exactly what I said when I started modifying my old WRX. (:
I bought 5 speed forester xt. Thought perfect no need to do anything else. Now I have a 6 speed swap on order

Good to see the Forester STI back on the channel!

Nothing, Just an RX7 and a FD Viper not much

Good eye 👁. I was wondering what those were.

They need more attention!!!! Gahh
That why we watch their content.

THANK YOU ! FINALLY A BREAK FROM GRIDLIFE VIDEOS!!
Actual dream car - the jack of all trades
Great video. You made all the prep work look easy for non-car people. We all know that stuff can take days and thorough planning.
This is hands down my favorite channel on UA-cam
Make sure to swap your engine with a brand new one after every highway pull to make sure your car is healthy
make sure to buy a new car after each cold start, wouldn't want to have a unhealthy car now?
so true
That’s a great idea. (:

No. Still not a true STI and never will be.
yes. I have an 08 XT sports that I'm playing with. This series is really making that easier.
Thx for video, bro, from Russia! We love foresters so much, too!!!
I’d love to see more asmr rolling shots of the Forester! Just watching the car hearing both engine and exhaust is really soothing to me. 🤗
