    Remember to unscrew the brake reservoir cap otherwise it will be hard to push back the old pads, also you risk getting air into the brake lines.

    Caliper hanging, not enough cleaning of sliding element, this is how you DO not change pads and disc. And when people say 'it is 20 mins job' . And then you do it again in one year when your caliper seizes and pads wear three times faster

    Wouldn't let you touch my brakes! Specially if your letting the caliper dangle like that

    Not a bad job though your hands looked a little greasy when you assembled. Also, you mentioned tightening the calipers by hand, missing out the torquing up so I hope that's not misleading. Finally, the dust you wire brush and blow off the dirty parts contains asbestos, as a lot of pads do. Best to keep the dust to an absolute minimum. I enjoyed watching. Thanks for taking the trouble to download. Informative.

    Did you replace a solid disc with a vented one? Does it give any performance improvement for typical car use?

    I wonder if it's possible in the near future if you could try and do one for replacing the rear brake shoes. Would be appreciated!

      Taj Tyres ltd but they didnt come off hand tughtened?

    • @TajMotorMedics
      @TajMotorMedics  7 років тому

      Parvise Sarwar spray some WD-40 and wait for few minutes once that's done then use a bar to open it because it has lock tight on the tread of the bolt so hence that's why it's tight to open.

    hmm you maybe able to help me with an issue, according to the parts website my car will have one of two brake systems when I tried to select pads. any idea on how to tell which system I have?

    • @TajMotorMedics
      @TajMotorMedics  7 років тому

      +Sam Ellis easy way to do it is to check what calipers you have on your car (ATE/LUCAS/BOSCHE) that way you can search for the right disc and pads and this model only has one type and that's ATE caliper and part no for pads is apec pad1062 hope this message was helpful.

    Sorry. Forgot to mention. You need to pump your brake padal a few times before driving so that the new pads take up the play and move back close to the discs. Otherwise, you will drive off and when you need to brake, the pedal will go flat to the floor. If it should happen, pump the brake quickly to get it back.

    Hi, is it much different replacing the rear pads? my ibiza has front and rear disk brakes

    • @TajMotorMedics
      @TajMotorMedics  7 років тому

      Moss hi, yeah it's a bit different as you would need brake caliper rewind tool to wind the caliper piston back as they not push back.

    I'd take more care when handling the pads and discs, don't want grease touching them! Helpful video though

    What brand of brake discs and pads did you use for the Ibiza?

    • @TajMotorMedics
      @TajMotorMedics  3 роки тому

      Apec and I’d definitely recommend them because they don’t squeak like other cheap brands.

    Hi could you write down exact tools needed. I'm not very mechanical savy :)

    • @TajMotorMedics
      @TajMotorMedics  7 років тому +2

      +Matt S hi sorry to get back late with regards to the tools required. If you only doing brake pads then all you need is 1* flat screwdriver to push the calliper pistons back and make sure you do it really gently cuz the last thing you want is damaging the seals 2* 7mm Allen key for the back of the calliper. And if you did the disc too all you need is a torques T27 to remove the screw and guess that's all you'll need. Hope this helps 👍
