Classy and beautiful woman, inside and out. Good attitude about her life in spite of the many disappointments. The women from this era truly worked at being ladies. Loved how she held herself with poise and dignity. Thank you for posting!

Been binge watching Bette and Joan's interviews, my Faves!!!...Lana's name came up and only the lovely Lana is the most open about her life. Saw her on Donahue just now but couldn't leave a comment. Lana is so beautiful and way more open, a joy to watch and listen to this lovely lady inside and out💕

Some women are better off without a man in their life. For some reason they attract the violent narcissist type. I don't know why. Judy Garland did, Debbie Reynolds did, Doris Day did, Rita Hayworth did and many others. Beautiful women with abusive cruel husbands.

@@7777lizabeththey mixed in circles of narcissism and power hungry people. I always feel that must have played some part and intensified the violence and cheating etc in Hollywood couples. egos, power, self importance, self delusion. All those awful characteristics are more prevalent in those who are in powerful positions who desire and require adoration from others, aka Hollywood lol :)

A lot of the Hollywood stars of that era were underrated, Lana, Rita, Dorothy, Lena, Ava, Kim, etc. Imo, people overlooked their real talent and praised their beauty. But there were a lot of hidden gems ready to come out. Lots of unexplored potential

Remember, she's an actress. When I read the comments of majority of people here, being mesmerized by some untruths. These interviews go through a fine tooth comb before being televised. I have been behind the scenes in television and movies. The Tyrone Power being he great love is true, her friend, Ava Gardner attested to this.

I’m not sure how old she was in this video but damn she looked really good for an older lady. She was definitely a hopeless romantic, but seemed to not learn from her mistakes. Her explanation about it being proved that she was not an alcoholic, that whole story was far-fetched.

Lana is the epitome of yesteryear's Hollywood success stories. She broke into the Hollywood big leagues after being discovered in a Hollywood high school malt shop. She was all talent & had an ambitious desire to succeed in movies. What gets me about the Tyrone Power romance is that in 2022 it is a well known fact that Tyrone was having a "thing" with Cesar Romero & possibly seeing other Hollywood "pretty boys" the during 30s - 40s.

A great actress indeed. Her greatest performance in the courtroom in 1958 when she convinced her then 14 year old daughter to confess to murdering her mobster boyfriend. Destroyed her daughter, who only after Lana’s death came clean & said her mother stabbed him to death & told her daughter to take the blame. Poor innocent Lana….hardly! It seems any man who fell for her soon regretted it.

Lana was a small town girl who was pretty and not very bright and given to dramatizing her poor life choices, especially in men, but a determined survivor, so it was great for her that she had a good outing on the tv show. Her glamour was a studio-made product, the epitome of the glamour queen Hollywood studios turned out in the forties and she adopted that persona as her identity to the end.
