Classy and beautiful woman, inside and out. Good attitude about her life in spite of the many disappointments. The women from this era truly worked at being ladies. Loved how she held herself with poise and dignity. Thank you for posting!
Been binge watching Bette and Joan's interviews, my Faves!!!...Lana's name came up and only the lovely Lana is the most open about her life. Saw her on Donahue just now but couldn't leave a comment. Lana is so beautiful and way more open, a joy to watch and listen to this lovely lady inside and out💕
Some women are better off without a man in their life. For some reason they attract the violent narcissist type. I don't know why. Judy Garland did, Debbie Reynolds did, Doris Day did, Rita Hayworth did and many others. Beautiful women with abusive cruel husbands.
@@7777lizabeththey mixed in circles of narcissism and power hungry people. I always feel that must have played some part and intensified the violence and cheating etc in Hollywood couples. egos, power, self importance, self delusion. All those awful characteristics are more prevalent in those who are in powerful positions who desire and require adoration from others, aka Hollywood lol :)
A lot of the Hollywood stars of that era were underrated, Lana, Rita, Dorothy, Lena, Ava, Kim, etc. Imo, people overlooked their real talent and praised their beauty. But there were a lot of hidden gems ready to come out. Lots of unexplored potential
Remember, she's an actress. When I read the comments of majority of people here, being mesmerized by some untruths. These interviews go through a fine tooth comb before being televised. I have been behind the scenes in television and movies. The Tyrone Power being he great love is true, her friend, Ava Gardner attested to this.
+Mirco Vettorato Agree. I'm very critical myself, but I've never understood why Turner has never been given more credit as an actor. She turned in some wonderful performances, especially "The Postman Always Rings Twice."
Mirco Vettorato Don't forget Ziegfeld Girl! With a better director I think she would have gotten a nomination. She wasn't as polished as she later became but she's raw and she kills it! I also love "Green Dolphin Street"
Worth watching. She mostly seems genuine and complex. Beyond the blond hair and good looks is a nice person with feelings. Gary Collins is a real dreamboat and it's impressive how focused he is on his guest.
I’m not sure how old she was in this video but damn she looked really good for an older lady. She was definitely a hopeless romantic, but seemed to not learn from her mistakes. Her explanation about it being proved that she was not an alcoholic, that whole story was far-fetched.
Lana, you were an alcoholic you weren’t sipping water for 10 years you were sipping alcohol she actually said that on every talkshow that she wasn’t an alcoholic, she was a sipper. Nobody fell for that BS Nobody called you out on it because you’re Lana Turner🙄
Such a wonderful and charming woman in my fantasy I wish I knew her personally so famous and and yet so human dang, I do believe I live in the wrong age
How do certain people have the moral/mental strength to keep getting married over and over and over again like that ? 😩 I’m getting exhausted at the mere idea of marry-divorce-marry-divorce-marry-divorce 😵💫
I think that Lana and Doris Day, both had the worst luck with men, which is so sad, because they were such sweet trusting ladies and wanted it to work out, but those men couldn't be trusted unfortunately.
I like Lana a great deal, but she always seems to give a performance. It may just be her style. Still, I'm watching this and I'm not turning it off, but I still expect someone at the end of one of her sentences to shout, "Cut! Print!"
Lana Turner was of the Golden Age of the movies. A true movie star in every sence of the word. God is the only one who can take her inventory. Not the public.
Read Lana's book. It was about Lana. As it should be. Had to wait six years for Cheryl's. She filled in the blanks. About her being gay. Lex Barker Lana's husband. Repeatedly raping Cheryl. I always wondered where Lana was.
I am so glad that she stopped drinking, but why deny her alcoholism? However, the important fact is that she admitted to over-drinking, which, for all intents and purposes made her an alcoholic. What's in a word, I suppose!
Lana is the epitome of yesteryear's Hollywood success stories. She broke into the Hollywood big leagues after being discovered in a Hollywood high school malt shop. She was all talent & had an ambitious desire to succeed in movies. What gets me about the Tyrone Power romance is that in 2022 it is a well known fact that Tyrone was having a "thing" with Cesar Romero & possibly seeing other Hollywood "pretty boys" the during 30s - 40s.
A great actress indeed. Her greatest performance in the courtroom in 1958 when she convinced her then 14 year old daughter to confess to murdering her mobster boyfriend. Destroyed her daughter, who only after Lana’s death came clean & said her mother stabbed him to death & told her daughter to take the blame. Poor innocent Lana….hardly! It seems any man who fell for her soon regretted it.
Lana was a small town girl who was pretty and not very bright and given to dramatizing her poor life choices, especially in men, but a determined survivor, so it was great for her that she had a good outing on the tv show. Her glamour was a studio-made product, the epitome of the glamour queen Hollywood studios turned out in the forties and she adopted that persona as her identity to the end.
She killed her lover, the Italian guy. She called her lawyer. He told her to say her daughter did it. She was 15 years old so she'd just be tried as a minor and go into Detention. Cheryl. This Johnny guy was just after money, he got money out of her. She just wanted him out of her life
@@meganeverson97 lana loved tyrone power and wanted to marry him.Ironically, tyrone wasl madly in love with judy garland and wanted to marry her. He got judy pregnant as well but he wanted to have judy's baby. The problem with tyrone was his inability to face the consequences of his actions and stand up to his wife.
The sad things is that because she is white, but she understood that God was more important than any color but its a white world and a mans white world. God forgive those folks!
Now THAT is what aging gracefully looks like - A complete pleasure to watch. R.I.P Ms. Turner.

She was a legend and beautiful inside and out.. I loved her in Falcon Crest as Jacqueline Perrault. Too bad she was killed off..
I love her look and her poise.Quite the survivor.”’Imitation of Life” and “Peyton Place” are my favourites of all her films.Thank you.
Such a well spoken and intelligent woman. The epitome of class, even with her troubled life.

So incredibly articulate. Very bright, seemingly humble gal. Love Lana Turner.
Omg...he never asked her obvious questions....favorite movie, favorite leading man, director...memories from movie sets...ugh.
He didn't ask enough?

She seemed out of touch with the world - imho

tyrone was in love with judy garland at some point
I just saw this. If I may know, what happened in 2022 that insinuates your claim about Tyrone? Did I miss something? Would love to hear back from you.
She is 61 years old so skinny beautiful
Glad miss Turner had a good mother unlike Judy Garland Frances farmer and others

When did her daughter come clean,
She's kinda mesmerizing
She was quite sweet here
A wonderful women jim
How sweet was she really?
People were really into being tan back then.
Lana probably married Artie over a weekend of alcohol. I'm a child of the 1960s and remember those days..., 😘 !!!
Like her but those hairstyles in that time made woman look older then they are today

She’s extremely smart and it’s pathetic that you felt the need to project your own inadequacies through this post.
@@melisagalvalizi6982 that’s you.
She wore knickers to keep her anckles warm that one
When actresses were real not full of botox and plastic surgery, shes so intelligent and so classy unbelievable.
She clearly has had a total face lift.
I wonder if her and Gary got it on after the show
lana made a lot of money after all the scandal

Made by the studio system....no class at all. Grace Kelly Audrey hepburn had class she was a star and good body of work
Both Lana Turner and Rita Hayworth had good daughter's unlike Bette Davis and Joan crawford
I;m sorry, but she is a phony in these interviews, ""I never had an affair with a married man." Right.
You are nuts.Do you KNOW her? No.So shut up!
She's admitted she has before in other interviews, just not with some of the men people think she's had affairs with.

She had a KNOCK OUT BODY.
