- In the video, I documented the whole process of arriving on an international flight at Phuket International Airport (HKT). It took about 45 minutes from deplane to waiting for our ride to the hotel.

Did you receive a self ATK test at airport? Or did you receive one from hotel? I have prepaid for the RT-PCR test at the airport so I’m all good there but I can’t seem to find information on the self ATK test. I was thinking of just bringing one with me 🤷🏻♂️. Also I just heard they are talking about reducing the required health insurance from 20,000 to 10,000 USD coverage. Wish I would have known that, I may have waited to buy it. My trip to Phuket is the beginning of May.
We were handed ATK test kits with nothing said about them. There was no requirement for us to use them or report the result. We were under the original Test & Go scheme back then. I got a letter from my regular health insurance provider that shows coverage for any illness anywhere. I didn’t have to purchase extra insurance. Good luck and have a good trip!

My wife and I have been approved for Thailand Pass without a pre-paid RT-PCR test. Will this be an issue?
Probably no issue. You can still book the test ahead of your arrival at thailandpsas.com. I also saw people paid for the test after arriving in Phuket.
Thank you for the video. I just breaks my heart to think of all that plastic waste, the medical outfits and surgical gloves, face masks. All going into landfills everyday. COVID is harming the environment more than anything else.
Agreed. But without those things, there would be no tourists and that would harm the people more than Covid.

Did you had the chance to exchange any money at the airport ?
We chose to use ATM on this trip. There is a 220 baht fee per transaction. We used credit card where could. It has the best exchange rate.

Did you have to book PCR test at the airport before you arrived to Phuket or you can do it and pay on arrival?
I did from Thailandpsas.com. I saw people registered and paid on arrival. Thailand pass has a prebook test as one of their requirements.

Do you have a hotel pickup, or can you just walk outside the airport?
Our hotel included a private transportation.
