How did you come out to your friends? It might help a fellow gay if you leave ur experience below!! 🌈💗 p.s. if ur ready to come out to your parents, i made a video about exactly that! ua-cam.com/video/2_a0sQ5Rv3g/v-deo.html
So i wrote a poem-kinda thing for my bestest friend who I’ve trusted with a ton of my secrets. I texted it to her in the evening and she was super supportive of it, which was nice. So I came out as just ace then, then one of my other close friends I came out to as aroace (after coming out to them I told the person I initially came out to as aro as well). Then I came out to my other friend who had just come out as pan because we related to each other! (This was the only one in person coming out) So I kinda scoped out who I thought/knew I could trust and then came out. My family I’m kinda waiting to come out until I’m independent just in case. Also, I used Text at first cause I tried doing it in person the day before but I got too nervous to say it. I mean the next day after they responded we called and talked to each other about it. So yeah! If you have the gut trust feeling it will most likely go smoothly!
idk if this counts but i told someone that the most innapropriate song I have on my playlist is slumber party and they said they were gonna listen to it-
My go-to for coming out to friends was to talk in person, go for a walk or something, and just say "Hey (name)" - because they'd say "Yeah what's up?" and then, even though it was scary, the conversation had already started. I just had to keep it going. Also yes 100% come out only when you feel ready, and only tell people you WANT to tell. You're not obligated to tell all your friends at once! I didn't! Take your time, look after yourselves, and remember ya'll are loved 💕
My come out to friend looked like I get my friend in a room and I was like “listen there’s something I want to tell you “ and she was like “ what, are you lesbian “ she started laughing and I was like “ yes that’s exactly what I wanted to tell you 😂” then she looked at me and we both started laughing. The best coming out ever🤣
Hey Lauren - you actually made me blush tho that's not too hard to do ! I believe that you and people like you are such a positive force for young people in Australia and throughout the world. Kudos to you. I know you're making a huge positive difference in people's lives and I find that so inspiring ! Love your all inclusive energy and your vids !!
the best way for me to come out at this point is just the one where you dont hide it and you drop a bunch of hints that your gay. that's definitely the easiest for me. thanks for helping me come out!
I actually came out to a few of my friends as a Lesbian and they were just pretty chill about it, I also ended up coming out to my crush, who is pansexual
This is so helpful! I've been following you for about a year and I've watched all of your videos, you have helped me so much, I don't know where I would be without your videos. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
This was perfect timing! I was thinking about coming out to one of my fiends yesterday, but I got scared and didn't know what to say and didn't do it but this video has helped a lot!! Thank you!!!
This is all great advice and I hope it helps those who need it! There’s no right or wrong way to come out; just be comfortable about doing it, or even just go about and be yourself and let people guess or assume (which is what I’ve done since my initial coming out to my friends; coming out to new people is EXHAUSTING).
How I came out to a friend/someone at school: So I was looking at aroace memes and rants on my computer then they looked over at my screen and was like, “You’re aroace?” Me: I-uh yes? Them: that’s cool! I support you!
The first friend I told had kind of already guessed when I told her she was super cool about it and didn’t have any weird reaction (thankfully) and I think it’s really nice that I don’t have to hide it around her. I had talked to her about it the LGBTQ+ community before and she had been cool with it so I wasn’t as scared when I told her (but still veryyyyyyy scared). I’m thinking of telling some other friends who might not be as cool with it (I’ve only told 4 people, so far so good) so this vid rly helped ❤️
came out to my roommate today!! I was super nervous about it for like months, but I feel so relieved now. I’ve had tough experiences with coming out before: the reason I and my first (and last) boyfriend broke up was pretty much my bisexuality, which he did not take well and let’s just say the way he reacted and his change of treatment towards me after I told him about it were just cruel and pretty traumatizing. I mean, if you don’t want a relationship with a bisexual girl, that’s ok, cause event though it probably comes from a place of prejudice, it’s your choice yk, I can’t make you stay or force you to love me, won’t hold grudges for that. But you really don’t have to treat her like shit and do some pretty messed up things I really won’t vent about here cause it’s pretty depressing and scar her for life with a terrible first experience after she confided in you with some stuff like that (where I lived wasn’t really a safe space lol, we’re literally 15/16 year olds from a Brazilian small town). But anyway, I’m really happy about how she reacted and that she understands I could never see her “that” way. Sorry about any spelling or grammar mistakes, it’s literally 1 am and English isn’t my first language haha, so my brain cells aren’t really working rn.

Hey - this video is helping me come out as bi. Thanks! And another tip: try to tell the person that helped you figure it out first. Its what ive done and I also trust them. In that encounter, they also came out to me as pan, so in alot of cases this works.
I’m pan, I came out to one of my best friends who was a boy, and he was like oh… and I was like what? And he was like I was literally planning to tell you today that l’M bi… and we laughed so hard lol
I made a coming out presentation on canva and put girls by girl in red as background music. I was gonna wait till later to show it to my bestie in person, but it was the last day of lesbian visibility week and I wanted to do it right then. So I ended up sending it to her, and I was so fucking nervous waiting for her to reply. I literally almost started bawling. I kinda already knew that she was gonna be super supportive, but I was still scared just cuz it's a big thing to tell someone and it was my first time coming out. Thank you for making these amazing videos, they are always the best videos ever. I love you so much and thank you for making these amazing videos
Hey I've been watching ur vids for about a year now (since soon after I realised I wasn't straight..) and uve helped me so much trough everything (including internal homophobia) and I really wanted to thank u for everything ur amazing ❤❤❤
Amazing video! Thank you! Just what I needed. 😊I have told some of my friends already, but as they are basically all LGBTQ+ then I wasn't worried. Now I just have to tell my other crowd of friends, who happen to be totally cis-het (as far as I know). 😬🏳🌈
Thank you so much Lauren!! I learnt so many new ways to come out to friends from you , Definitely I'm gonna try giving handwritten letters to them :) btw I love your eye make-up as well !!

When they didn’t text I panicked and texted “thoughts?” To which they said they had no clue what I was talking about. Then I texted all caps IM BI they were so happy and sourportive. 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 happy pride. I couldn’t be able to come put without Lauren.
Great video like always Lauren. Love the New look the little chain and awesome eye shadow. Stay you and thanks for always being an inspiration to other.
I’m planning to come out to my friend group today when we get together. One of them already knows and is SUPER supportive. I imagine the others will be just as supportive, but it’s still nerve-wracking.
I love the positive video and you always give great tips and advice for young people and just love your content. This is a great video and thank you so much for sharing this video
If it's my bestie(s) I'd just yap about being awesome in a humorous but also serious sense. If it's my regular friend, I'd just say I'm lesbian. If it's a new friend, I'd tell them when they become a regular friend:D (js incase they tell others ykyk!)
Honestly though just come out I know it's easier said than done especially for me but if they're really your friends they're not going to care and they'll actually support you
This is great! I recently came out to some closer gay friends as lesbian and all these tips are so true! Keep up the great work Lauren! Happy Pride🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🌈🌈🌈💅💅💅p.s. I'm a new subscriber and love your content 💓
you don’t have to tell to everybody, just tell to your close friends. You also can do jokes about your sexually and, when people say « oh you’re gay/trans (whatever it is) ? » you can tell « you didn’t know this ? i thought its obvious! »
I remember when I came out to my friends it was not really planned the only times I came out was when one of my friends asked me and the other it happened because this girl had a crush on me and she said you don’t like girls right and I was like I do but they were cool about it but I guess it’s because most of my friends are gay and the one that told me that I don’t like girls right was questioning her sexuality at that time
I came out to my friends by every so often saying ‘plot twist, just don’t like boys’ until one friend who isn’t in any of my classes hears me say that and goes ‘are you lesbian’ I just nod. That is how I came out to my friends
One of my friends (my closest one who I have been friends with since the age of 1) guessex I was bi before I did. She mentioned it and that got be thinking 😂
Someone help me. Idk if I'm bi or lesbian.heck, I might be straight. I wanna be bi or lesbian and have even thought of other LGBTQ stuff. And I want to do bad but I'm scared of going to..y'know.. he*l and people say if ur gay that does happen. Other half says that's balogna. And idk what to believe. Sorry if that's too much. Butttttt please help
When i told my friend I've known since middle school that i am trans, and she had laughed at my face. I want to tell my core friends that i shared with my younger brother, but my parents won't let me, and that resulted me to tell people that i just met. I want to stop telling people that i meet for the first time by telling my core friends, but still my parents won't let me to.
How I came out: Me: "[friends name], I think I'm trans..." Friend: "Nah. You just need to get through puberty and get used to the changes. You'll get over it in a year." [OVER A YEAR LATER...] Me: "I still think I'm trans." Friend: "... Okay then."
if i would come out now in pride month everyone would be like ''you want to be trendy'' or ''you're only gay for attention'' and that's frustrating and sad cause that's not what pride month should feel for u or should be seen by other people:(( but great and helpful video and happy pride month of course!!!
My best friend just came out to our friend group as Gender fluid very casually, she looked at us and said; "Hey! I'm gender fluid!" My friends asked a little bit about it, and she answered them as best as she could. The thing is- I've been questioning if I'm gender fluid for a while now, so I went to talk to her about how to come out to them, and she said to do what she had done. But I told her that I was nervous because she doesn't really mind what gender people classify her as, and if I hypothetically did come out to them- I'd be a bit more strict about my pronouns depending on the day/time. I didn't want my friends to compare my pronoun strictness to hers, any advice?
I love you so much I'm watching all the time I have still not come out to my mom I am very scared to tell my mom about me and that I am a lesbian she doesn't fully really like the lgbtq community and she never really has good things to say about it so I'm very scared and I just want to tell her who I am so bad but I can't 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
I want to tell my girl best friend right now that I’m bi and I feel like I’m ready but I’m not ready and just the thought of telling her makes me cry, another problem is that my crush is her other boy best friend who is also my best friend and idk I feel like my brain is mooing faster than my mouth or my mouth moving faster than my brain when I try to
I was about to come out to my friend. But I choose to watch a video first I was so nervous and I decided to text them then call, I might try to write other friends a letter. I came out as nonbinary I go by all pronouns and I’m choosing to go by Ash now😁
Me knowing it’s gonna be a while before I come out to my friends (if I ever do-I just don’t really see it that necessary) Also me seeing this vid: ah yes this seems like something I should watch Jokes aside this is a great vid. Thank u and happy pride month!!!!🌈🌈
I have been openly gay for all of high school, but once I came to college on another city I made lots of guy friends(i used to have very few) and they talk about girls all the time and it is exhausting when they ask me about my preferences and I panic.
I was in my classroom and 3 of my besties started talking about crushes. My Best friend S started telling that I liked my other bff who was a boy. I literally screamed " Heck no, b**** I dont like boys!" She looked at me 😮and asked "so you like GIRLS" and I was like "Hell YAHHH." It was amazing that I came out
Most of my closest friends already know but I still haven't told my ex roomate. She's one of the coolest people on Earth so I'm not even sure why I haven't told her yet... I guessed I was scared she would maybe think I liked her (which I didn't) while we lived together and it would het akward and now it's been a long time since I've known her so it feels so artificial to bring it up...😅
I have a question could you please answer ⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️ I have a crush on my best friend and I wanna be with her but I don’t want to ruin our friendship either what should I do?
The first person i ever came out to was one of my friends. It was a very gradual process, if you type into google the colors of your pride flag, they will come up in images. So i was like “hey whats your favorite colors?” And she said something and i was like “mine are pink blue and yellow… what does that mean?” And she said “what” and i told her to look it up. It took her awhile to get it because she didnt know what being pansexual was so one night we were talking and it was around midnight and the conversation with the colors meant and she eventually got it. (And then a whole other thing happened that i wont be sharing, but it lead me to come out to my dad the same night as well.) the next way i came out to my friends is i gave them a little trivia game, general stuff like trivia about a video game we play and whatnot but then my last question was them taking a guess at my sexuality. I think that one was really interesting to see the results of because a lot of my friends thought i was coming out to them as trans! (Because i talk very masculine). Another way one of my friends came out was through social media, where they just put “bisexual” in their profile to tell her family. I hope this helped! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Lauren girl I need your help, I really want to tell my bestie that I'm gay but I don't know how she used to be bi but then she went back straight and is now a hard core Christian and she's always been there for me but I just dont know what to do or what to say please help me
I came out to my best friend over text a couple of weeks ago and it was such a good experience and she was really accepting but I want to come out to my parents and I'm kinda scared they won't take me seriously but every time I sit down with them i just kind of freeze and I don't know what to say and I was thinking of writing them a letter but I feel like it would be a bit awkward cuz i give them the letter and then what? Leave them there? Watch them read it? Go to my room? I just think it would be really awkward but if I sit down with them it's just really weird and I don't know how to bring up the subject i mean what am I gonna do? Just blurt out "I'm bisexual" over dinner with no context? It just seems like it would be really weird and cringey and I don't know what to do pls send help😭
Im going to come out probs today to my friends. Im in a friend group of 5. SUPER SUPPORTIVE OF LGBTQ+ 3 are bi/pan, one is lesbian and one is straight!!!
I have a plan on coming out to my freind who is lesbian or one of my freinds whos transgender because i know they both will support me ❤ also am still questioning but am pretty sure what i am but stil a little bit unsure but its a Journey 😊
Actually i just said that I have a crush on some1 than she came to me like look i found who you crush on and told her name excitedly and that was the time i felt like I picked the real friend but like that was super normal cuz she was always having crushes and that was my first time telling her that I have one so she understood that I'm not joking idk why I wrote but that's it it's another way to say without saying
So, I came out to one of my friends as Genderfluid amd Questioning at different times. Her reaction to Questioning: Okay................... Me telling her in GenderFluid: [My name...] can't you just be normal. Can't you just be a normal person Guess she wasn't such a good friend either. I feel like I could be lesbian but then I don't know....?!
Ok so like I have a big problem, basically I have this best friend who has mentioned that she’s not straight but def has a pref of boys, I told her I had a crush on her a while ago as a “prank” and she got mad at me because she said it was “disrespectful to the lgbt community” which is literally impossible because IM PART OF IT which she didn’t understand and she had this friend who she had a secret crush on that I didn’t find out about recently. That friend ended up being terrible which I already knew but she wouldn’t listen until a bunch of drama happened with this friend. Now that friend is gone and my crush is my best friend again and she thinks that I don’t have a crush on her and that I never did and she talks about the boys on her swim team constantly but I’m completely in love and I have NO idea what to do. And now it’s summer break and I can’t see her in person for a while. I really hope she doesn’t see this lol. Help!! Ps, congrats you read a paragraph
I might be able to do that! But in the meantime, you can always take the tips from this video, and the 'coming out to parents' video to help come out to ur teacher

Thank you so much! and for ur support! 💗 just trying to make stuff younger me wouldve benefitted from!
If it's my bestie(s) I'd just yap about being awesome in a humorous but also serious sense.
If it's my regular friend, I'd just say I'm lesbian.
If it's a new friend, I'd tell them when they become a regular friend:D (js incase they tell others ykyk!)
They told me to kms… what do I do?
if this ironic, it’s okay but if it’s not and they are h0m0ph.bics, sorry for you :( ❤
Hello, you gave me the courage to come out on Saturday or Sunday! Thank you! -Bear
i told my 2 besties that im a lesbian but before i told them i was crying because i thought they wouldn't like me but were supporting me!
Very helpful thank you!
Honestly though just come out I know it's easier said than done especially for me but if they're really your friends they're not going to care and they'll actually support you
Thank you, this helps me so much!! ❤
Lauren please can you make a video about how to tell your mom or dad that your a lesbian, it would be so helpful.
I've made one! here you go, i hope it helps
Yayy! Thanks for the amazing video :)
You're so welcome! tysm!
This is great! I recently came out to some closer gay friends as lesbian and all these tips are so true! Keep up the great work Lauren! Happy Pride🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🌈🌈🌈💅💅💅p.s. I'm a new subscriber and love your content 💓
aww im proud of you for coming out!! and thank you so much! HAPPY PRIDE and tysm for joining the fam! 🌈
You are beautiful Lauren
Have a great day
Happy Pride ❤️
Thank you lots! Happy Pride !!
I wanna come out but I’m popular and I don’t want to lose that what do I do
you don’t have to tell to everybody, just tell to your close friends. You also can do jokes about your sexually and, when people say « oh you’re gay/trans (whatever it is) ? » you can tell « you didn’t know this ? i thought its obvious! »
My friend was homofobic, and i was super scared to come out.
It was very Hard
but my parents are supporting me for who am i.
I guess i am lucky😄😄
im sorry you had to deal with that, it sucks
@@laurenelloise thanks
And that’s okay!
@@laurenelloise :)
My parents don’t support and say I’m just saying that and that it’s just a phase
I remember when I came out to my friends it was not really planned the only times I came out was when one of my friends asked me and the other it happened because this girl had a crush on me and she said you don’t like girls right and I was like I do but they were cool about it but I guess it’s because most of my friends are gay and the one that told me that I don’t like girls right was questioning her sexuality at that time
Man I’ve been doing that last one for a while now 😂
They’re not taking any hints-
You re sooo helpful thank you ❤❤❤
Hello Lauren!!!!
HEY!!!!
I came out to my friends by every so often saying ‘plot twist, just don’t like boys’ until one friend who isn’t in any of my classes hears me say that and goes ‘are you lesbian’ I just nod. That is how I came out to my friends
Wonderful new video, you're so adorable, great job and much love my friend ❤️🙏
Thank you so much!!!
@@laurenelloise You're welcome
thank you for the tips
Ngl I'm gonna do this to my parents rn :] tysm Lauren!
i hope it went well!
@@laurenelloise it did!
this video really helped me
One of my friends (my closest one who I have been friends with since the age of 1) guessex I was bi before I did. She mentioned it and that got be thinking 😂
aww haha sometimes friends really do know us better than we do!
@@laurenelloise they really do x
Hey I am going to a overnight 4 week camp and I plan to write a letter and come out that way
thank u sooo much Lauren
How I came out:
Me: "[friends name], I think I'm trans..."
Friend: "Nah. You just need to get through puberty and get used to the changes. You'll get over it in a year."
[OVER A YEAR LATER...]
Me: "I still think I'm trans."
Friend: "... Okay then."
if i would come out now in pride month everyone would be like ''you want to be trendy'' or ''you're only gay for attention'' and that's frustrating and sad cause that's not what pride month should feel for u or should be seen by other people:((
but great and helpful video and happy pride month of course!!!
I came out as nonbinary I go by all pronouns and I’m choosing to go by Ash now😁
Me knowing it’s gonna be a while before I come out to my friends (if I ever do-I just don’t really see it that necessary)
Also me seeing this vid: ah yes this seems like something I should watch
Jokes aside this is a great vid. Thank u and happy pride month!!!!🌈🌈
I have been openly gay for all of high school, but once I came to college on another city I made lots of guy friends(i used to have very few) and they talk about girls all the time and it is exhausting when they ask me about my preferences and I panic.
I sent messages:hey, I am gay. Boys were upset while the other girls in my group said they are happy we are not competing for guys!😄
I’m a lesbian too , but I never really knew like how to come out from a long time ago.
But I’ve already came out fully from some time ago I think.
I was in my classroom and 3 of my besties started talking about crushes. My Best friend S started telling that I liked my other bff who was a boy. I literally screamed " Heck no, b**** I dont like boys!"
She looked at me 😮and asked "so you like GIRLS" and I was like "Hell YAHHH."
It was amazing that I came out
Wish i could use this, but my friends where the ones that told me that i was gay before i even knew it
to come out, i made a presentation lolll
this is so cute, i love this idea!!!
@@laurenelloise thank you! i actually saw it on tiktok first and thought it was good
Most of my closest friends already know but I still haven't told my ex roomate. She's one of the coolest people on Earth so I'm not even sure why I haven't told her yet... I guessed I was scared she would maybe think I liked her (which I didn't) while we lived together and it would het akward and now it's been a long time since I've known her so it feels so artificial to bring it up...😅
I’m also lesbian I love your videos!!
helloooo thank you lots and lots :')
I finally came out as bisexual
Im lesbian and one of my friends are Lesbian! Also i have a non-binary And Bi friend! and they’re really sweet!🏳️🌈
I have a question could you please answer ⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️ I have a crush on my best friend and I wanna be with her but I don’t want to ruin our friendship either what should I do?
Ty
Dude when I came out to one of my best friends I just wrote a note and gave it to her 😅
this is cute, and one of the easier/simple ways!!
I have known i was in the Lgbtq+ community since i was 8 (now 14, been through a lot of questioning, now Im pretty sure) and i really need this vid
How can i come out to my mormon friends?
Lauren girl I need your help, I really want to tell my bestie that I'm gay but I don't know how she used to be bi but then she went back straight and is now a hard core Christian and she's always been there for me but I just dont know what to do or what to say please help me
hi i came out in school and it didt go well
I came out to my best friend over text a couple of weeks ago and it was such a good experience and she was really accepting but I want to come out to my parents and I'm kinda scared they won't take me seriously but every time I sit down with them i just kind of freeze and I don't know what to say and I was thinking of writing them a letter but I feel like it would be a bit awkward cuz i give them the letter and then what? Leave them there? Watch them read it? Go to my room? I just think it would be really awkward but if I sit down with them it's just really weird and I don't know how to bring up the subject i mean what am I gonna do? Just blurt out "I'm bisexual" over dinner with no context? It just seems like it would be really weird and cringey and I don't know what to do pls send help😭
I came out by putting a pride flag in my room. I never said anything, they never said anything but they eventually acknowledged that I was gay
Im going to come out probs today to my friends. Im in a friend group of 5. SUPER SUPPORTIVE OF LGBTQ+ 3 are bi/pan, one is lesbian and one is straight!!!
best of luck!
@@laurenelloise done!!!
I have a plan on coming out to my freind who is lesbian or one of my freinds whos transgender because i know they both will support me ❤ also am still questioning but am pretty sure what i am but stil a little bit unsure but its a Journey 😊
I first came out as lesbian when I was 13 and the first person I came out to was one of my friends
Since me and my friend are actually so close I’m kind of considering just sending him this video lol
So, I came out to one of my friends as Genderfluid amd Questioning at different times.
Her reaction to Questioning:
Okay...................
Me telling her in GenderFluid:
[My name...] can't you just be normal. Can't you just be a normal person
Guess she wasn't such a good friend either.
Hey Lauren I was wondering if you could do “how to come out to your teachers?”
I might be able to do that! But in the meantime, you can always take the tips from this video, and the 'coming out to parents' video to help come out to ur teacher
@@laurenelloise I kinda came out to her today, she was very supportive :)
I think I should put lesbian color hearts in my bio
LOOOL, Totally relatable! :D !!! O.o
There my friends I didn’t even need to say anything yet before they knew
