Same here, it isn't as strange as you think. A common element of trance is the constant deep beat remeniscent of a heartbeat. As far as I'm aware, all (or most animals) find the heartbeat therapeutic. The beat combined with the maintained speed in each song is soothing. I guess an easier example to use would be driving a car. Other music slows down and speeds up, you have to pay attention to the turns and signs. Trance is like an infinite smooth straight road with no signs and the car is on autopilot
