Oh, my gosh! I've never met anyone else who blocked their childhood like I did! Not that it's a good thing, but it's nice to not be the only one out there. I'm not sure how long mine was blocked. However, after getting into a safe, genuinely supportive group of people who were nothing like my abusers, and learning healthier habits of how to stay grounded, I started working on getting the memories back. The remembering process was slow, but I'm happy to say that I am no longer overwhelmed by my past. And, my brain was really great about not bringing back more than I could handle at once (brains are so freaking amazing). I never thought I would want to remember. But, I'm glad I know now, and the memories don't stress me out anymore.
So... yeah. I guess I just wanted to say you're not alone in the "Crappy Childhood Memory Blocker" club, and that being able to look back without feeling overwhelmed is possible. It won't be a scary "all of your memories flooding back at once" horror movie experience. It's very gradual, and you only get tiny pieces every now and then when your brain feels like you're ready to handle new info. You'll know when you're ready, and your brain will wait for you to give it the okay to let the walls down on your memories. It's gonna be okay. 🙂

Hi Kristen❤️ I adore your vlogs during Vlogmas. Last Christmas they got me through a really dark time. There were many things going on, but the main thing was that I was in a nasty car accident that really crippled me physically and emotionally for a while. I couldn’t do much without feeling totally drained but I feel like your vlogs literally helped heal me because I could relate to a lot of the things you were going through.. thank you ❤️ I still watch all your other vlogs because they really do soothe me haha.. but I can’t wait to continue to support you this year and watch all the vlogs❤️❤️ keep it up sister you’re a wonderful person🤗
