Lyrics:
Nuns have their habits but I have none
Nobody gets how I get things done
Delete my inbox cause it’s just no fun
I count on fetishes and superstition
I go for broke because I’m so baroque
I skip the gym so I can have a smoke
I’m skipping class and telling dirty jokes
I’m sneaking out to go play Rock-n-Rolll
We’re doin it and doin it and doin it well
We’re makin L-O-V-E love
Up in tha C-L-U-B club
Strung out on A-D-H-D drugs
And I can’t S-H-U-T up
You look so fine, this scene’s so posh
It’s like a painting by Hieronymus Bosch
We need our yarn, we need white whales
We keep some griots ‘round to tell our tales
We’re doin it and doin it and doin it well
Cause I’m an S-L-U-T slut
Another G-N-O-C stud
Sipping from G-O-L-D cups
Bathing in B-L-U-D blood
Our backstage passes come with opera glasses
We’ve got caviar in our mini bar
We do it often and we do it well
There’s a stairway to heaven
But they’ll let you slide to hell
We’re doin it and doin it and doin it well
We’re makin L-O-V-E love
Up in tha C-L-U-B club
Strung out on A-D-H-D drugs
And I can’t S-H-U-T up

This was exactly what today.. this week... 2024... life needed
Best news I've heard in the last decade
YES!!!
Oh, the album is releasing really soon!
thank the lort my fave band is BACK. so glad it's my month to make the mix for my BOYS cos this track is going TOP SLOT BABY
saw these guys in pittaburgh a lifetime ago ( i think at CMU)...a fire alarm went off during the show, so we all had to go outside. Tim Harrington had us all get in a giant circle to play a big game of duck duck goose. My friends brother was the first one tagged and as he ran around the circle he slipped on some wet grass and ended up separating his shoulder. good times
From the gigs - there were two other new songs played as well... so new album possible from the lads, time for us to make 2024 the year of global recovery
Yesterday I was thinking, how has it been 14 years since Root for Ruin. Then today this popped up. Hyped.
jesus fuck I can’t even find words to describe how much I fucking love these bastards
I am genuinely thrilled to see that Tim can still climb scaffolding and pose like no one else
WALLY

Hmmm...I love Les Savy Fav. Years ago I'd say they were my favorite band, and now they're still probably in my top 10 artists, or at least close. Which is why it's with sadness and not gleeful bile that I say I really really hope this isn't more of what Root for Ruin was. I was exploding with excitement for that album. I was at a concert of theirs in LA and I lost my shit when they previewed a song from that album: Appetites. Appetites is a sick ass banger, one of their bests, easily. Then they said they'd preview a second song for that album, and I lost my shit even more...until about a minute into the song: Let's Get Out of Here. I told myself, "hey, every album has a weak song or two. The rest of the album will be as astonishing as the first song." Unfortunately, I was baffled by Root for Ruin; I only enjoyed two songs ("Appetites" and "Clear Spirits") on that album and felt "meh" to "blegh!" about the rest. This song that I'm commenting on is...I'm on the fence about liking. I really hope they don't keep making songs like "Let's Get Out of Here." I hope the band doesn't read this, or if they do that they don't take it as me pissing on them or bitching at them to go back to their old style(s). Les Savy Fav has gone through so many awesome phases, album after amazing album. I was just super disappointed that they seemed to disappear forever after ending on a whimper with Root for Ruin. Again, this is all my humble opinion and POV. Again, I'm NOT bitchily demanding that they cater to my tastes because I've been a fan for so long or whatever. I'm being emo and nostalgic, just venting my feelings here.
LSF are also in my top 10, but in contrast to what you said, I love Root for Ruin, and in particular I think let’s get out of here is a great song. I know it’s very different to something like Inches, but I enjoyed their evolution. But yeah, looking forward to hearing what this new single leads to
@@mattd1659 I'm not being sarcastic when I say I'm happy you and many others enjoyed Root for Ruin. I just feel they aren't making the art that made me fall in love with them. Of course, that art came in vastly different forms, from their earliest art punk to their more pop-y dance songs on Let's Stay Friends. Ultimately, I can want what I want and be happy or disappointed with what they put out, but I'm at least happy they're making the music they want to make. I may or may not like their next album, but worst case scenario I can still enjoy their past works just the same.
Another Root for Ruin fan here. Bristol gig was amazing last night we carried Tim around standing on a big table through the crowd for a good while.
@@bigboibenz At the London gig the day before he hung upside down from the balcony to sing hold on to you genre. He also came on stage dressed as the Pope. Amazing
@@mattd1659Noice!
Back to watch this for the 10th time. Hot track! 🔥
It’s so addictive! They’re my favourite drug.
Hey Andrew 😁😁😁. That’s my friend hahhaha
