Isn't there a fifth option where you split up you and Tuski for a while while you focus on learning league of legends with someone you hired while Tuski stays on stories of dota to make sure the quality is up to your standards? After you made a few league stories you can still swap things, but that would allow you to get a kickstart in league knowledge
It will also give hima feel for League terms and mechanics
League as a whole is definitely a much harder game to run Stories in the same format for.
League has been through huge balance changes, entire item system reworks (I think with the addition and now deletion of mythic items), champions get fully reworked with their mechanics changed on a fundamental level. On top of that, Worlds has much less champion variety when compared to International (my opinion), many champions never get played on a professional level
It feels to me that writing Stories of League is going to be a whole new level of an undertaking, so I just wanted to warn you about it. It could be much harder on top of knowing how little you know about the game and the time it will take to learn League
yeah this is correct, considering how, that fundamentally the 2 games are the same genre, league is so different from dota in its own way
I'm really interested to see what you end up focusing on for League stories. The different patch schedule and how items tie into champion power make the discussions of viability feel different. Also, many champions suffer from early-PA-syndrome of being much worse in a coordinated environment, so they just are bad in pro play every year.
I would love you trying to contact necrit as he is an old league player and watcher and he is a known youtuber for making League based content on lore, I do believe he will love the ideea and that might be a start of a beautiful collab imo if it will happen

fun fact: damage block from vanguard and other sources technically blocks _any_ form of physical damage, be it attack or spell damage. this is why stuff like moon glaives and reflected physical damage ( i.e. from blade mail and dispersion and such ) is reduced by damage block. this may seem incorrect, because more significant sources of physical spell damage like quill spray and onslaught aren't affected by damage block ... but that's because they're given a damage flag that lets them straight-up ignore damage block
incidentally, it's a common oversight for peeps getting into dota 2 modding to miss that flag when coding their physical damage abilities, exactly because it's easy to presume damage block only comes into play with attack damage. draw whatever funny conclusions about the counter-helix change as you like from that

5th Option: Baumi gets hired by Valve to fix Dota Underlords so he won't have the time to do Stories of League.

Stories of SMITE would just be baumi doing a deep dive into the mythologies lmao.
Baumi could try having a chat to Necrit or TBSkyen about this Stories of LoL thing to be honest, they're both huge lore nerds and could potentially share some knowledge on League!!

I dont watch league stuff, but I think this an opportunity to grow the Baumi channel as well. You could call the League series something like: Learning League in 2024. Or Dota player with X thousand hours learns League in 2024.
With a good title, some effort and luck I think you might be able to get a bunch of new people in

waiting for the channel Stories of Dota to be renamed to Stories of MOBA/Hero Shooters and it including smite/paladins/lol/overwatch usw maybe even go for RTS games that get still updates like AoE
Just an idea but why don't you try to reach out to MatPat, the guy is well-versed in the youtube metagame and has successfully branched out his content into different aspects. Maybe he could give some good insights if he actually answered

Gonna be honest, I, really don't like the idea of you doing anything that sacrifices Stories of DOTA in exchange for League content.
Not to mention the fact that, in general League is less friendly towards the stories format with the heroes being reworked from the ground up rather than just singular abilities, massive reworks to how items work, and some heroes never seeing any play at a tournaments
You'd essentially have to re-learn a new hero from the ground up for each rework, doubling the effort required for each video, and, the same for the item system rework.
Doesn't seem worthwhile to start a series that would take more effort than the first to make AND learn an entirely new game from the ground up to be able to do it

i think its not real this idea, do you know how long it will take to get atleast basic understanding of league ? like you have played dota in wc3, you played HoN i presume and dota 2 all this gave you the knowledge over like a decade...
League of Legends story and watching people play league are more enjoyable than play the game.

To be completely honest, i dont think it'll be successful to make stories of LoL. Because compared to dota2 with its meager number of creators, LoL has few times more. And there are so much content on it that i dont think stories of LoL will get traction.

I do have to say that I feel like trying to learn the story of a game like League "artificially" feels kinda sketchy to me. Like, I feel like the reason why Stories of Dota is turning out so well is that you are very capable of applying your analytics skills to a game you have been playing for like a decade at this point. Sure, it's not like you were into the competitive aspect of Dota, but you still have a very solid idea of what Dota is and how it works, and also a deep knowledge of its characters. I feel like getting that same kind of expertise in a game like LoL, which has way more heroes than Dota and even more changes and reworks, would pretty much be impossible.
Getting a B team for Stories of LoL has the advantage of getting people who actually know the game and have been playing it for as long as you have with Dota and putting them to work as soon as possible, and I feel like you shouldn't underestimate that.
true but baumi playing league and focusing on it is kinda fun to see as a long time player of both, he'll realize at some point if he can do it or not but its gonna be fun if he played league seriously

I don't think Stories of League will work. Stories of Dota works because you have extensive Dota experience and already had a name in the dota youtube community. None of that is true for League. Handing off Stories of dota to another team will 100% kill it.
I like your option 4.
But stories of DotA works cause it is not just about a hero, but rather how the hero interact and was used at each period of the game.
Using the same concept for league is interesting, but itemization may be a huge factor in regards of each hero progression that you will have to deep dive into.

Honestly, I would really prefer for Stories of Dota to be the best it can. I'm not interested, personally, in Stories of League. Of course, that is only my opinion, I just wanted to share one take.
Why not post the videos in the same vhannel and rename the channel Stories of MOBA
5th option could be do 1 video stories of dota then 2 for LoL then dota then Lol. One video at a time.
