    Wandering the halls aimlessly, you neither look brave or like a "spy". You like disrespectful and fearful. Why didn't you just find a member of the lodge and introduce yourself?

      As you can see from the video, the building was empty. "Just find a member of the lodge" is easier said than done.

      Actually if he was a spy he would be with members of this group. He'd work his way up the chain and gather intelligence as he progresses up the chain. He'd meet a sleeper inside the group and pass that intelligence to the sleeper. That sleeper would send that intelligence to what ever company or agencies he's working for. So he's not looking like a spy

    As Freemason I am actually glad you did this. It shows how mundane all lodges really are. You didn't harm anything and you were respectful. The act of curiosity is what brings men into the lodge of Freemasonry. Curiosity gives us knowledge, peace, truth and freedom. It is my hope that your visit to this beautiful and interesting place was an inspiration to you as a person and to all those who watch. Many blessings friend!

    When Jesus was tempted by satan who offered Him the world, and Jesus refused the offer, satan then tried to find other people who will manage to establish satanic kingdom on earth.

    The golden dawn is a completely separate organisation with no link with masonry beyond some people who are members of both or have been a member of one, left and joined the other. It's like saying that the cadets are part of the scouts because a cadet instructor is also involved in a scout group.

    @davegtv2 I'm not a mason, but what I know about the checkers on the floors is that they stand for good and evil, light and dark, simply a statement of the human balance in the soul. That means those rooms are likely the masons meeting rooms where they keep their allegorical masonic tools (for teaching the principles), such as the level, plumb and stone ashlars, so understandably they would not want someone to steal or damage them for kicks.

  • @mariusdire

    An example of this is the Shrine, which in some jurisdictions was declared irregular when it was found they'd allowed masons who'd either left, or been expelled from the Craft to continue being members in essence making them a mason, as only a regular Craft lodge can do that, the Shrine was acting irregularly and so was banned in those jurisdictions until they stopped doing so, demonstrating the sovereignty of the Craft Grand Lodge in their jurisdiction.

    I went there some years ago when I was like 15 but I was too scared to take the elevator.. I stayed on the first floor and walked down the hall then came in proximity with some guy. I forgot the details butt I asked him what they do and how I could participate and stuff. He gave me a small, square booklet thingy that I still have with some info... Pretty cool shit / experience

    While regalia can be expensive in some lodges there's a tradition of new members being given the aprons of either a former member, or a current member who has gone through the chair and so has a past master's apron. The apron I wear belonged to the uncle of a member of my lodge. Also, at least in the lodges I visited before taking my third degree they had a store of Entered Apprentice and Fellowcraft aprons for people to use, so there's a gap between joining fees and getting an apron.

    @roger201288 Not even the rituals are particularly secret, after all we have them written down in books and all the various versions are available to the general public in masonic libraries (which over here are free to enter to any member of the public). We prefer not to talk to much about them because it might spoil the experience for a new candidate.

    Just because an organisation borrows or copies traits of another doesn't mean that it is that organisation, or an offshoot. The OTO borrows heavily from Freemasonry but it is considered completely irregular by every regular Grand Lodge in existence, that is to say it is unmasonic. As for the whole 10th degree bit, the highest degree in masonry is that of Master Mason, the rest are side orders which do not confer higher rank outside the side order (think extra curricular activities in a school).

  • @mariusdire
    @mariusdire 11 років тому

    Not to regular masonic organisations, the only links it has are to irregular bodies. Up until last year or so the only regular body in France was the Grand Loge national de France, but that had its recognition withdrawn by the majority of regular masonry after the actions of its Grand Master.

    Christopher explained that Masonry's nationwide organization of men from most walks of life provided one of the most efficient private intelligence networks imaginable. Private information on anybody in the country could normally be accessed very rapidly through endless permutations of masonic contacts - police, magistrates, solicitors, bank managers, Post Office staff ('very useful in supplying copies of a man's mail'), doctors, government employee bosses of firms and nationalized industries

    I doubt it seeing as at Freemason's Hall in London, the seat of the United Grand Lodge of England you can go in and have a tour of the library, museum and building. And it's used regularly as a film set for the programs like Spooks and Parade's End.

  • @mariusdire
    @mariusdire 12 років тому

    The links between Grand lodges work in this way, every lodge has to have at least seven members who are already masons and be warranted by a Grand Lodge, once there are enough lodges in a state or Country they can petition their Grand Lodge to form a Grand Lodge of their own. If they do this they become completely independent. Grand lodges can choose to recognise other Grand lodges as regular i.e. say they're valid masons and so masons from one are welcome in the lodges of the other.

  • @mariusdire

    I think in this occasion he's not completely wrong, he brought up what appears to be a defunct side order that required members to be Royal Arch masons. There's a ritual book that appears to have been printed by the Kentucky Grand Lodge's Home Journal team back in the early 1900's which is based on the Egyptian book of the dead. It looks authentic, but seeing as there's no current mention it was probably a here today gone tomorrow side order which didn't make it outside the state.

    It's a Grand Lodge building so probably that floor has more meeting rooms, and some offices for administrative staff, since the Grand Lodge oversees all the lodges in its jurisdiction they tend to have a permanent staff to deal with membership and information requests, financial matters, keeping membership details up to date and sending out correspondence alongside communicating with other Grand Lodges. Typical administration for an organisation with thousands of members.

    Odd, it appears that another page that features him says that he didn't receive it. Hall is not identified as a 33° Mason anywhere in the book, nor is there a record of his reception of the 33° cited in any readily available source that does not include the above quotation. According to the Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon, Hall was initiated into Freemasonry, but not until 1954,[64] when he was 53 years old.

    That's about the shape of it, the fraternity has a lot of enlightenment thinking at its heart which encourages free thought and acceptance of differences. Most probably because it was enlightenment thinkers like Elias Ashmole and men of similar mindsets who joined during the transition period between the purely practical guild and the purely speculative lodge of circa 1717 onwards.

  • @mariusdire

    The reason people think it's a big secret it on account of some basic misunderstandings, by masons as well as non-masons. There are some things we keep private like the methods of recognition, basically proofs we give to prove we're who we say we are when visiting another lodge, that's about it for secrecy. But some thought they couldn't even talk about being a member and so never explained that it's the candidate that has to ask a mason, not the other way round.

    Not quite, at least not in the way you're thinking about it, the skull is known as a momento mori, basically a reminder that we're all mortal and so we have to think of what comes beyond and prepare ourselves spiritually for that eventuality as best we can by our faith and by our deeds.

    The age does vary a bit depending on jurisdiction. Personally I've never looked back since I joined, and if it's not the right thing for you after you join all you need to do is write a letter a resignation, return your Grand Lodge certificate (or dues card depending on jurisdiction) and that's it, one of my colleagues at work did precisely that.

    No, masons tend to be passionate about Freemasonry because we enjoy it, for some it's the symbolism, for others the charity, the history, performance, the festive board, or educating others brethren and non-masons alike. We go out of our way to research and increase the depth and breadth of our knowledge. Also there's a bit in the London masonic museum about Churchill, including things like the bill for his apron (he was somewhat tardy in paying up).

    There are side orders, like the Scottish Rite (that's the 33 degree one, but the moment you join in the USA you get the 32nd degree) or what in the USA is called the York Rite which is made up of many different bodies like Holy Royal Arch, Knights Templar etc. They might have higher numbers or impressive names, but they are not superior in any way to the degree of Master Mason, after all it's the Craft Grand Lodge that decides if those degrees can be practised in their area.

    The revolutionary war had Freemasons on both sides, indeed once when a British army retreated lodge furniture was captured, the American general, himself a mason sent it back to the British under guard wishing his English brothers well. Another case was when an English ship captured an American one, the English captain saw an officer holding the hand of a dying rating, on learning the dying rating was a mason the captain doffed his hat and comforted the rating to the last.

    Certainly, firstly the pentagram doesn't mean what most people think it does, the whole point down being evil was made up the Eliphas Levi who tended to make things up if he didn't know what exactly was meant. The Greeks used it as a symbol for the elements with spirit at the pinnacle (like many Wiccans do now) In Christianity it was representative of the wounded hands, head and feet of Christ. In geometry it is significant for the numerous iterations of the golden ratio.

    From the Entered Apprentice obligation, as you can see no mention of harm coming to anyone. As I've said many times to people, if you're going to quote, make sure it's an up to date source. Something that was being used when people were still hung, drawn and quartered isn't up to date.

    Pike knew all this, and in his rather obscure way was trying to encourage others to explore the history and origins of what people believe, plus he was showing off his intellect somewhat. There are no records of Hall joining the Scottish rite, let alone receiving any form of the 33rd degree. Not to mention that most if not all the quotes people use of his were published when he was in his twenties and he didn't join the fraternity until he was nearly fifty.

    The Secret teachings of all ages, the passage which seems to be a satanic contract, is in fact him describing how a magician would invoke a spirit and what a demonic pact would look like. The book it's from is an academic work on the occult. Hall's Lost keys of Freemasonry can pretty much be disregarded as it was written when he was 21, he didn't become a mason until he was 53, and was based on the few highly inaccurate books available to him at the time, he later said as much.

  • @mariusdire
    @mariusdire 12 років тому

    True, and I think at least in Kentucky he has done so, or at least he's found a ritual which aimed to become regular but never really got anywhere. But I did advise him to contact the Grand lodge of Kentucky to double check, as like you said there is plenty out there that quacks like a duck, but proves to be a duck lure.

  • @mariusdire
    @mariusdire 12 років тому

    From my reading of the book you drew my attention to I'd say it's more that it was a side degree that required the members to be Royal Arch masons, not that it was affiliated with the HRA as an organisation. There are several side orders in the UK that require membership of specific side degrees before you can join them.

  • @mariusdire

    Finally my favourite, the Freemasons, the rules (which are available to members of the public) as laid down in each regular Grand Lodge's constitution states that Freemasonry is apolitical and will not attempt to influence politics as a whole. Individuals are free to be involved, but that's as private individuals. Secondly each Grand Lodge is in charge of its own affairs within its jurisdiction, there's no overall governing body beyond that.

    I checked the cited source from GL of British Columbia and Yukon and they were using information from the Grand Lodge of California. The Californian Scottish rite website also makes no mention of Manly P Hall on their website, the PRS seem to be the only body that suggest he received it, if accurate, given his advanced age it seems likely it was an honourary award for long service.

  • @mariusdire
    @mariusdire 12 років тому

    Well if it was still extant I'd expect there to be a reference to it online, all the other currently existing side orders have some presence, whether it be a website for each jurisdiction's governing body for the side degree or a mention on the jurisdiction's website, at a minimum there would be a reference on wikipedia. In the early 1900's the symbolic penalties were still included as no one needed the fact they were symbolic explained.

    I mean, it's not I don't believe in conspirations and secret societies, history shows that's how it has always been and there are even more reason today for these to exist, but if you plan on being secret, there are a few things you shouldn't do:
    - write your name on the front door
    - have a mysterious symbol that everyone knows displayed everywhere
    - let anyone enter your headquarters

    The Illuminates of Thanateros an international magical organization focusing on chaos magic. It was formed in 1987 created by Ray Sherwin and Peter Carroll, two young British occultists with a strong interest in ritual magic. "Thanateros" is a portmanteau of Thanatos and Eros Greek gods of death and sex. Sex and Death represent positive and negative methods of attaining "magical consciousness". IT follows along with The Esoteric order Of Dagon. This is modern it hasent vanished like some say.

So it's a little difficult to believe in something that you know doesn't exist. Blavatsky was irregular, that is not a mason, Hall was an academic who lectured on the occult and has his academic work taken out of context to make it seem like he meant something he didn't.

    the difference between "boy scouts for old dudes" and masons is the fact that they pray at the beginning of their meetings instead of pledging. If they do not pray in the name of Jesus, WHO are they PRAYING to?

    Answers to the month of April, 1 month long before the assains were executed- confined one day and night in dungeon in the Tower of Achizar, then led to execution. Ten in the morning tied, naked, two stakes, their arms and legs extended, bodies were then open from there necks to the middle and in that condition they were exposed to the heat of sun for 8 hours during which time the flies and other insects feated on their blood and entrails.

    In fact if the craft grand master of a jurisdiction who has never been a member of the Scottish rite declares it irregular in his jurisdiction then the Scottish rite ceases to exist in that area. Or say the Grand master (again never a member of the SR) expels a member of the SR from craft masonry, even if that member holds the 33rd degree they will no longer be able to be a SR mason. So doesn't sound that superior.

    Blavatsky's work was among the first major contributions to what would become a deluge of "New Age" disinformation. According to The Aquarian Conspiracy by EIR (see Writings by Others section), "the 1877 manuscript [of] Isis Unveiled ... called for the British aristocracy to organize itself into an Isis priesthood." This provided the appearance of divine authority for doing what they were doing anyway - creating "Isis priesthood" fronts.

    No he wasn't a 33rd degree mason, there is no evidence he joined any side orders, and that sounds more like him criticising Chamberlain's policy of appeasement.

    @AstarAnZ There isn't one in the UK, there used to be a couple of schools set up for sons and daughters of masons who'd died so that the children could get a good education. But these days the Masonic Trust for Boys and Girls operates by way of grants of money for private school or things like extra curriculum lessons if they have a particular talent or need.

    Sounds like a lot of work for the lodge, enjoyable work though. Will they all be going in as one or are they initiated one after the other? My lodge only takes one candidate through a degree per meeting so it's not a practice I'm familiar with.

    I am rather fond of that one, and The thing on the doorstep. Lovecraft's works all seem to hinge around a universe that is not just disinterested but actively hostile to us, which pervades everything with a brooding menace. Just the thing for a cold winter's night.

    Not from any evidence I've seen, the founders were interested in kabbalah, both traditional Jewish and Christian forms (such as that of Dr. John Dee), another was a polyglot who translated some manuscripts from Hebrew, but then he also translated Coptic which is a Egyptian dialect almost exclusively used by Christians, among several other languages both modern and classical. You're going to need to show your evidence, primary sources are of course preferable.

    You dont use it in your lodge. But it was once used in some lodge it may be defunct but it was once used. And its not the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Its the Ritual of the Egyptian Book of The Dead. For Royal Arch Masons. Supreme Council of the Order of Rameses is the Authority of the Ritual.

    The G still till this day is the most mysterious letter in freemasonry. They teach you in various lodges that it means various things. It dosent just stand for god. Grand, Great, God, Geometry. Ive read various ritual books explaining and teaching masons that it means more than one thing not just God. Ive asked pleanty of Freemasons including 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite and he said it means numerous of things. We had a whole conversation over it.

    Due to the King James version using the Vulgate as its source text rather than original Hebrew Lucifer was mistaken to be the name of an entity, then you get Milton's Paradise Lost which cemented Lucifer and Satan meaning the same thing. But oddly enough St. Jerome used the word lucifer to refer to Jesus in 2 Peter 1:19 and Apocalypse 22:1. In the New English Bible which used Hebrew Old Testament texts Lucifer doesn't appear at all.

    I am a mason, and I'm not a 100% sure what the year of light is at 5:50 . But keep in mind there is thousands of calendars. For example, on a Jewish calendar we are at 5777 or 5778 this year. So depending on what is the main religion of the area is, or person who is getting this. This is depending may answer your question.
    Anyways, that is just saying that person is an endow member. This just basically means they are a life time member (or were since they are most likely died by now). For him to be there, I would think he would've done something special.
    Anyways, thanks for the video.

      Year of the light (A.L.) is the regular AD date, plus 4000 years. We're in 6016 right now.
      We use it on all Masonic documents.

      Thanks. I never seen it, or maybe notice it. Maybe some areas use it more than others?
      Anyways, from what I'm able to get from the WIKI. The 4,000 is added because it was thought 4,000 BC was when creation happened. Is this why?
