Handsome dog and a very handsome palette. I really like that the inner lid does not drop but stays horizontal. You got a good price.
Yes, some inner lids are prone to drooping, which can be problematic for sure. Seems like maybe the Frazier Price one droops a bit? Thankfully this one does not. It is very sturdy and the more I have been painting with it the more I like it. A color selection video is on its way. Thanks for posting! :)

The QoR Transparent Pyrole Orange is one of my favorite colors. Sennelier's Forest Green is another. Oh, this is hard - so many choices! Good luck!

Orange. It was previously Cheetah’s favorite color and a handy color for all the fall painting you’re going to be doing.

Enjoyed seeing your new palette and doggo💕 I spied green gold, which is one of my favorites. Mixed with any magenta pink, a lovely golden brown results. Add a cobalt blue to that mix, and a sparkly silvery gray emerges. My favorite tube color in a field palette is DS Primatek Bloodstone. The deep granulating purple-black plays very well with landscapes, especially anything in the green family. Thanks for sharing your palette!

Great video Morrison, very entertaining!! This palette is absolutely posh. I’m curious to see what colours you will be squeezing in. Make sure to add Quinacridone Gold to sketch your Labrador Retriever! He’s the best ❤and his hair perfectly match the brass palette. I have two Golden Retrievers, notoriously ferocious like yours. Hi. This looks like a great little palette and Peter the guy who makes them is a very skillful on what he is doing. I have talked to him as I'm planning to order one for my self.
As for the colours that you can fill the palette I would suggest an "all rounder' selection of colours that is consistent by the following colours.
Yellows:
Lemon Yellow, ( a PY3 or PY184 or a PY175 - the choice is yours I suggest all possible alternatives).
A Transparent Yellow PY150 ( this is a very standard yellow for any palette selection).
An Indian Yellow ( by any brand. One that you like )
A Green Gold ( Azo Yellow) PY 129 for mixing Greens.
Reds:
A Magenta ( PR122 or PV19 the choise is yours).
Q. Rose ( PV19 any of those available )
A Pyrrole Red or Carmine Red. ( plenty of choises you can go for a PR206, PR264 any dark warm red).
A Q. Red or similar, (PR209, PR149, PR 254, PR255 etc)
Blues:
Cobalt Blue PB27
Ultramarine Blue PB29
Phthalo Blue GS PB15:3 or a Prussian Blue PB28 if you don't like the ultra staining Phthalo
An Indigo, ( any of those available).
Earths
Sepia
B. Sienna or B. Umber if you want to go for something cooler
R. Umber as a neutralizer
And a Transparent Yellow Ochre.
As you can see I give you a full split primary palette with four yellows, four reds, four blues and four earth colours but not greens and oranges that you can actually mix them withe colours above.
You can paint whatever you like with these colours and better go for an all rounder split primary palette in order to make the most of this very nice box.
My goodness what nice color suggestions! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed reply. Will definitely consider the colors you have recommended. I also agree that since space is limited, there probably won’t be room for secondary colors that can be easily mixed. Cheers and good luck with your la petite palette. Are you looking at the Sketcher’s Box palette, or a different one?
@@morrisonwatercolors I haven't decided yet. That is the reason why I was watching some videos to see what sort of reviews are online for this manufacturer. This sketcher box looks like a very decent option. Small enough to carry it with a lot of mixing space and enough wells for a full palette.
Think a lot before you decide what colours you are going to put in the box because once you put them there it will be very difficult to change them with something else.
The colour selection that I suggest will work for all about everything.
You can of course change some of the earth colours with some colours that you might like very much. But if you go for a split primary I would advice to keep the yellows, red and blues and not change them with secondary colours.
All greens, oranges and purples can be mixed with the primaries and the earths are neutralizers and darkeners.
Also put all yellows together on the top ( according to how you hold the palette) and the blues and the earths on the bottom in order to avoid accidentally contaminate the yellows with a darker colour while you are painting.
I usually arrange my colours this way. First the yellows in a row, then the earth, then the reds and at the bottom the blues.
@@creativecolours2022 the Alicia Aradilla palette may be worth considering. It is a similar size but fits half pans so you will have more flexibility to swap out colors. But I believe it only fits 15 colors whereas this box palette fits 16. I am sure you will choose a good one. Thanks again for the color suggestions! 🎨
@@morrisonwatercolors I'm looking for a 16 colour palette and to tell you the truth I would like one with larger and shallower wells.
But Peter can customize his models too so I might ask him to make something custom.

I would certainly fill it with all of the colors that you would need for mixing. Then I would be sure to add lavender. It has become my go to color for shadows. I’ve been taking lessons from Cindy Briggs. She teaches watercolor and and I’ve learned much of what I know from her. I use her suggestions for filling my watercolor palette. I also would be certain to add my favorite green apatite genuine. I would love to add even more greens but having only 16 spots available would mean mixing greens. I would love to know what your favorite and must have colors are.
I also love the palettes from Art Tool Kit. Have you tried them? I have bought 3 and really find they work for me.
Thank you for the color suggestions! Lavendar is such a nice color, we will definitely consider it. And green apetite genuine is also one of our favorites. Yes, we also love the Art Toolkit palettes. Some of our videos feature the Folio palette, a personal favorite. By the way, how was the audio in this video? Was it loud enough? On some devices the audio seems a lot quieter and harder to hear in places, but it seems just fine on other devices. Let us know if the audio was too quiet. And thanks for posting! :)

i just placed an order for the Eudes Correia model :) i can’t wait for it - i’m having Peter customize it with 18 wells versus 16. i was happy to see that you and one other UA-camr had a couple reviews for his boxes! i love how compact this one is, and i think you chose great colors for it. how are you liking working with it so far? it seems like it will oxidize and develop a nice rustic look on the brass!
Good choice on the Eudes Correa palette, it looks very nice and I think you will really enjoy it. Plus 18 wells should be even better. As for the Sketchers Box palette, I think it is working out great so far. To prevent the middle section from moving around while painting I have used some Blu Tak to secure it. With that modification it is a great little palette. Thank you for posting and I would be interested in knowing how you end up liking your palette. Keep me posted on that and happy painting! ~Will :)
@@morrisonwatercolors thanks, Will! i thought so too. i’ve been seeing pictures of these brass boxes in different styles from all kinds of makers over the last year or so, but the Eudes Correia model will fit my needs best. Peter gave me an estimated delivery of May, but here’s hoping it gets here a little sooner 🤞 great idea with the blue tack! i did the same thing to hold down some full pans of gouache in one of my empty Whiskey Painter’s box and it works great - useful for all kinds of things. i’ll be sure to keep you posted on how the paltte turns out when it arrives :)
I bought the pallet and it came all off, and with bubbles on the inside paint, I made contact with Peter and he was super rude to me, he told me to glue it, and the pallet was 465 dollars.

Hi Lynda. Thank you for asking. The whole ordering process for this palette took less than 2 months (much shorter than the estimated 5 month period listed on the la petite website). It was smooth and easy. I would have no problem ordering another palette from la petite, they are great to work with.

It’s the Sketchers Box palette. I assume it’s mirror brass because it is glossy and highly reflective, but to be honest I can’t recall for certain if I had to specify the type of brass at the time of ordering.
How have you found this palette now its a year later ? does it leak ?
Thank you for asking. After a year I still love the palette and use it often. No leaks or problems. It is very portable, and therefore good for travel. But for my studio I am now using a larger Roberson-style palette from Brass Palette India, which I will be featuring in some upcoming videos.
