I'm pretty sure that the lack of any mention of Julia Winter (Veruca Salt) is because other than a small part in Dolphin Tale 2, she pretty much vanished from public view. According it IMDB she was studying to be a doctor.
They still could have mentioned that much, not acknowledging her at all is wrong.
Christopher Lee was a legend on and off the screen.
Always the bad guy. Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Return to Witch Mountain.
You forgot to mention that young lady who played Veruca Salt.
She's the 1st one
@erikspidylohmuller2671 that's AnnaSophia Robb
No she wasn't. That was Annasophia Robb. Julia Winter wasn't mentioned at all.
@@erikspidylohmuller2671
Violet was the first one and I was wondering if I missed one. That's why I reminded the video
@@erikspidylohmuller2671 Violet was the first one not verruca
I love it when the same actors follow each other across multiple movies, Depp and Helena Carter in C.i.t.C.F. and Sweeny Todd as well as Alice in Wonderland, I never made the connection till you pointed it out here, fantastic. It is even better when I didn't realize it at first, awesome.
Not to mention that Helena Carter also played in the ever famous movies, HARRY POTTER.
David Kelly was in The Italian Job, but its not the one everyone think of it was the 1969 The Italian Job movie, Johnny Depp's Acting Career started off with Cry Baby and Edward Scissorhands, 2 of his bigger earlier roles
Great film. Thaught they all did a wonderful job. Still watch when I can, and the original too. Wouldn't mind seeing the darker version that's been teased but never made. Depp could do dark for sure.
That's one hell of a thumbnail that didn't disappoint.
I might of missed it but what about Veruca Salt - Julia Winter?
I remember watching Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix for the first time and I saw Bellatrix I was like. Wait isn't that Charlies mom?
That was Anna Sophia Robb in Soul Surfer? Wow. I always thought she was adorable.
SOURMAN?! ITS SAURON!!! PRONOUNCED SOW-RON! All jokes aside pretty cool to see the whole cast and their beyond the film lives side by side
I dunno...
I kind'a like Sourman =)
Yeah, who was that actress who played Veruca Salt, hmm, I wonder!? I'm not talking about the old one from the older movie, I'm talking about the new one.
I watched a documentary on Christopher Lee’s life. It was like Forrest Gump meets James Bond. Oh and considering that he was cousin created James Bond his wartime antics may have influenced the creation of the character
Actually, Ian Fleming's brother was a wartime spy, not as glamorous as Bond, but that's where artistic license comes in. Fleming also wrote the book Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which was more serious than the film adaptation.
The one, who gave the most promising performance amongst the child actors, Julia Winter (=Veruca Salt) was left out of this video. What a shame.
Finding Neverland came before Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp wanted Highmore to play Charlie after working with him in Neverland.
Deep Roy was not in The Imaginarium of doctor Parnassus it was Vern Troyer
Julia Winter as an adult always looks wonderful in Veruca Salt dresses no matter what color she chooses, even in dark blue or pink sparkle.
Missy Pyle was good in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"... but she was freakin' awesome in "Galaxy Quest" =)
There should be a sequel to the film. =D
they have one. its called snow piercer
It's called Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, not Underground.
Bro really just said “Sour man” like that’s how it’s pronounced 😂
Nothing cant beat the original
And after doing Bridge to Terabuthia with Josh Hutcherson AnnaSophia has arrived as an Actress, having a Death Scene. Oh Wow She Portrayed one of The Best Racers, of The Amazing Race, Bethany Hamilton, The woman who lost her arm in a Shark Attack. Lets Remember Jack Albertson as Well, Born on June 16, 1907, We Lost The Original Grandpa Joe 10 Years after his Trip to The Chocolate Factory on November 25, 1981. And Now To remember Original 1971 Actors Who have Left us Diana Sowle, Original Mrs Bucket 1930 - 2018, Gunter Meisner, Slugworth 1926 - 1994, Werner Heyking, Mr. Jopeck 1913 - 1974, Peter Capell, The Tinker 1912 -1986, David Battley, Mr. Turkentine 1935 - 2003, Aubrey Woods, Bill 1928 - 2013, Gene Wilder, Original Wonka 1933 - 2016. robb is a stunner for sure.
"Weird and wonderful..." Weird, yes. Wonderful? That's debatable.
The only thing that's weird is how you spell
@@aaronjames3228 fixed. Thanks.
The Neverending Story came out way before this movie.
He was in what’s eating Walter Grape and CryBaby
You forgot that Helena Bonham Carter played Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter.
Original the best
You forgot that Helena Bonham Carter was in the Harry Potter franchise
10:45 I'm 100% certain that Italy is a European country. lol
You forgot Liz smith
You forgot to mention Harry Potter!
Dodgeball came out before this movie
I would be far more impressed with a "What do they look like now" of the first movie. You know, the good one.
This one was good too
this one is more accurate
Underdog not underground
Is it just me or does anyone sense a copy paste script. The structure of each segment seems practically identical.
Don't watch bad movies and this was one of them imo
I really liked this movie and actually thought it better than the original...with a huge exception of the Wonka character. Gene Wilder will forever be Wonka. Depp's portrayal was just too creepy....never mystical and magical as Wilder...just creepy. That said, I thought the production values, kid actors, and music were better in this version.
As for Depp, I really didn't care for his Wonka, but I think he's an amazing actor. Great in the Pirate movies and IMO a far superior Grindelwald than Mickelson.
He was an amazing wonka imo
@@aaronjames3228 Wilder? Absolutely.
Nice job leaving out julia winter. She's only the most compelling character in the movie. Are you trying to be edgy by pretending you don't own a tv while critiquing something you obviously need one to see. Hey what's up with the cast of terminator 2 these days? I hope that chubby black police office on the verge of retiring that got Sarah Connor a cup of coffee is doing well. Jesus Christ!
"Jesus? Don't know him. I knew 12 guys that did tho."
:You Probably
This was not an amazing movie as the narrator let's on. This was a poor performance from johnny depp as well
Yeah, Depp was actually the worst part of this movie. The movie is honestly more faithful to the source material than the 1971 version (excepting the flashbacks to Wonka’s childhood), but Depp was honestly outdone acting-wise by the child actors and their on-screen parents. Even considering Tim Burton creepiness, Depp simply gave a bad performance. Of course, we’re comparing him against Gene Wilder, one of the all-time greats here, and it would have been a tough act to follow regardless, but Depp was definitely the wrong actor for the role. Amazing, huh…. Gene Wilder’s performance in the 1971 version made a movie that was average otherwise into a classic, while Depp’s performance in the 2003 version made a movie that was otherwise above average (and dare I say, good) into one most people would rather forget.
I couldn't get past the Mr. Ed teeth and the Mary Tyler Moore hairdo. The Johnny Depp version was closer to the book though. I grew up with Gene Wilder.
Tim Burton willy Wonka is horrible
