Judge Holder is a man of conviction. He makes every effort to give others a second chance. This is absolutely ridiculous. America needs more judges like him.
I'm unfamiliar with the circumstances that preceded this reprimand, but from everything that was read by Judge Labarga sounded like Judge Holder was trying to make sure the defendant didn't have his life ruined because of the ruling. Did I miss something?
He did break the rules, but I think a private reprimand would be more appropriate. His heart was in the right place and he didn’t do this for his own personal benefit.
This is bull spew! He was trying to do a good thing, the horror of it all. I don't know this judge, never heard of him before. I have a hunch he will gladly accept this silly reprimand in order to do his job well. It makes sense to set the defendant in the right path, he was trying to help him get a quality education. What is wrong with this panel? What idiots! Would they prefer the defendant opt for a life of crime or college? GAWD! Such idiocy! Judge Holder, if by any chance you see this, thank you for your time and efforts doing the right thing! I am sincerely sorry you were subjected to this utter waste of time and tax dollars. If I ever decide to opt for a life of crime, I hope I get you for a judge so you will care enough to set me straight!
@@Asidebar Perhaps the rules are wrong, sometimes. Or, perhaps there are times it is in the best interest of everyone if a rule is broken. Haven't you ever broken any rule for good reason?
This judge did the wrong thing for the right reason. He allowed his compassion to override his responsibility as a neutral party and judge.

God bless this judge.

It is not a silly reprimand! Regardless of the excuse, He violated the rules and needs to be held accountable.

Proverbs 27:5
Open rebuke is better Than secret love.
This one seems kinda ridiculous but ok.
