OMG I have to get myself a cooling vest, They have definitely evolved over the years,
I have been a traffic controller working on the roads for the past 11years in Melbourne Australia,
And Wheeeew does it get hot
I bought my 1st cooling vest in 2009 it cost me over $100 all other vest consisted of was two side of material Back & front tied together at the sides with two strips of material And there were little pockets inside the material front & back that you put in those blue plastic cool blocks that you put in the freezer overnight, Once frozen you placed the cool blockes inside the vest pockets
Talk about Damm heavy too cold, & naturally they thawed out so you'd have water dripping down your back, Arms & legs
    It wasn't a great idea.
Second vest I bought at least was a proper vest with a zipper, But inside the vest was this mushy gel like substance that when submerged under water for up to the 1w cm 7mins would swell up and

    Saturday 9:00 45°c 85% humidity, no clouds.
Client requests urgent on site welding repairs, medium scale. Outdoors. Gave you a call because "they know you're the only madman they can count on for this".
After negotiating hefty surcharges, getting a deposit and pouring 750ml of cold tea down the throat of your passed out guy who can weld with both hands while rappeling head down, you rent large industrial spray fans, prop a tent, tarp your gear, distribute a crate of cutlet sandwiches and make sure there's enough ice to make an eskimo feel at home.
    14:50 47°c 99% humidity
Everyone got ice cooling their necks. Walking electric hazards, don't care.
You notice some white stains in the (now dry) soaked tee you changed a while ago, and yep that's enough salt for a large stew.
Realize the guys won't make it unless you take extra measures so you go to the drugstore and buy a pack of powdered orange flavor hypotonic drink to make sure the guys don't get sick.
    18:37 45°c 99% humidity
Somehow the job is done, not perfect but it'll probably pass inspection. People can smell the crew from half a block away, upwind. A cooler broke because the new guy tried to take an ice bath on it. Too tired to laugh at him.
    Customer is happy.
Everyone gets paid, with very juicy bonuses.
Take a nap on the truck with a pack of ice on your nuts, you earned it.

I live in a fairly dry climate in Southern California. I often wet my t-shirt in hot days when I go on a hike or bike. The temperature of my shirt drops to 70F and feels like I have AC, while the ambient temperature is in the 90s. The problem is my shirt only stays wet for 15 minutes while I bike and 30 minutes while I hike. Do you make these vest with reversible colors? Optic yellow for biking and a "natural" color for hiking.

    FALSE ADVERTISING!
Your video says that the vest "WILL REACH AN OPTIMAL 59degF WITHIN 5 MINUTES" She DOES NOT mention that this is the max achievable temperature DROP!
So UNLESS you read the small print, she is actually stating that regardless of ambient conditions, it will go down to 59F.
Very naughty and conniving of you!

    • @InsideMLM
      @InsideMLM 6 років тому +12

I'm confused. If you are actually saying the most the temperature of the vest will drop is 𝘣𝘺 59 degrees, which is pretty clearly what you said in your first sentence, then if the vest started at 100 degrees it would drop 𝘵𝘰 as low as 41 degrees. Which means that can't be what you actually meant. But if you meant that the temperature of the vest will drop to (not 𝘣𝘺, but 𝘵𝘰) as low as 59 degrees, which is even more clearly what you said in your last sentence, then you are saying 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰. The temperature of the vest will "reach an optimal 59 degrees". I'm seriously considering buying one of these. Please tell me what am I missing?
