That's a very good video!
Due to the 1:20 scale on American Truck Simulator's map, some sacrifices had to be made. On I-405, it starts on I-5 south of Seattle as it should, but we can't go further north than the junction with I-90. It's passage through Renton is where the in-game garage is located and some supermarket depots and a repair shop.
So to continue up north from Seattle, you have to take I-5 through downtown.
Of course in-game traffic is ridiculously low compared to irl, so it's even worth going through it in rush hour when speed limit is lowered to 40!
I've been there several times in ATS. It is strange how the game can simultaneously make you feel like you are really in the modelled city and like there is so much missing due to the scale. This effect is amplified when you have actually been to the places modelled in the game.
Nice work on the video. I’ve always thought that I-405 was cool through Bellevue.
I concur. The view heading north into Bellevue is really great, especially when it isn't raining.
Great footage, thanks for sharing. 4:55 tbh I didn't even know that permanent floating bridges existed, let alone they could carry an expressway...
It is really neat how people can build floating bridges like that. The bridge over Lake Washington from my I-90 Seattle video is also a floating bridge.
