    For me, whistles it's not a bad thing, so characteristic on this bike, I like it and I love exhausts which don't remove that. Nice video!

    My God you made a meal out of swapping a muffler! You undo three bolts and replace the friggin’ thing!

    • @motoken
      @motoken  3 роки тому

      looks like you didn't watch the video...because if you did, you would see that there's a luggage rack that does get in the way. but who cares about that, you clearly sound like an expert.
      Tell you what, get a Triumph Tiger, an aftermarket exhaust, a camera, then record it on youtube...5 mins only! since it's only 3 bolts...then I'll go ahead and comment on it and say that it should've been 3 mins ONLY!
      go ahead, I'll wait.

      @@motoken - ok, I actually have a Tiger 800xrt. Yes, there are the bolts on the luggage carrier (which I have on my bike), but I claim poetic licence! There are a number(small) of bolts that have to be undone, but it’s hardly a complete engine rebuild! You take the bloody luggage carrier off, undo the bolt that holds the silencer on and then undo the sodding exhaust clamp! There, are you happy?

      @motoken  3 роки тому

      @@bryanduncan1640 like I said, get yourself a camera and record it with the proper timeframe that is suitable for your standards. It's not about me being happy or not, you opened this up so follow through with it.
      Again, I'll wait.

      @@motoken - you miss my point; I do not question how long it took you or the quality of your camera work. I merely point out that if people need a video to show them how to do this - something that is less complicated than fitting panniers to the previously mentioned pannier frames, then it’s a sorry state of affairs that we are in.

    • @motoken
      @motoken  3 роки тому

      @@bryanduncan1640 Sure, that's a valid point. but I made the video in the manner that made sense to me at the time. I work on my motorcycles a certain way and if I didn't have the pannier's then it would be a shorter video.
      My goal in showing these is to show people the complete start to finish, not abbreviated. This is my style.

    I was able to break loose the tack welded 4mm bolts on each baffle.....thru the holes (covered with the rubber grommets) the back side of the can, but the baffles won't budge for me. Need your help Ken Moto.....pretty please??

      @@XxMadRiverxX I do recall the bolts being very stubborn, but I was able to break the tacks by brute force. I just now looked at the baffles and saw the tack welds on the bolt heads, but they popped loose when I cranked down on them. There was no tack weld on the back side of the bolt, just the head.

    How in the world do I remove the stupid baffles? I've had an Allen key slip and I'm afraid of stripping out the screws! Please, help me

      @Ken Moto I JUST got this exhaust today, it's in my hand right now but it looks like the back side of the muffler, there's a top and bottom weld on the screws. How did you remove the welds from such a tight area?

    • @XxMadRiverxX
      @XxMadRiverxX Рік тому

      Okay so not only is it tig welded on the backside, it's also tig welded on the front head of the bolt as well... What the hell...

      I liked the whirr/whistle of the triple with stock exhaust. But my wife always rides behind me, and she complained about the whirring whistle. It still whirrs and whistles with the Akrapovic (with baffles removed), but definitely has a deeper, throatier sound.

  • @waynelatham4281
    @waynelatham4281 3 роки тому

    OK, never mind. I used a home-made hammer-puller made from a piece of 1/4-20 threaded rod with a washer on the end to hook around the back edge of the baffle. Worked like a charm, with absolutely no damage to baffle. If anybody else needs help, let me know.

      @XxMadRiverxX Рік тому

      Do you have a way to contact some how? The baffle bolts on mine are tig welded on the head and on the back side and I have not a clue how to break the welds free to get these stupid bolts out.

      @@XxMadRiverxX Not a lot of room to work through those small holes on the outside of the Akrapovic can (covered by the rubber grommets). As I said earlier, the tacks broke loose when I hunkered down on them. Getting the baffles out was the hard part for me. It kinda sounds like yours are more welded than mine were.
