Gene - once again I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for putting this up
I highly recommend this funnel. Buy one for kerosene and one for gasoline saves you time and money. I have even seen people use these funnels at race tracks when fueling gasoline racing engines.
Hi Gene, what is the funnel called and where can I buy one?
thank you for the video it was excellent keep up the good work
Very informative Thank You.
Thanks for the good info.
Thanks for sharing. IT's better than an additive that removes water as you can reuse it over and over to clean your fuel.
will that filter work on a gas oil mix for a 2 stroke?
Have you tested it with motor oil? I use waste oil on my diesel generators. I sometimes get a batch with coolant mixed in. My fuel water separator gets most of it, but it would be nice to run 5 gallons at a time using this slick product if possible.
What would be the best way to store the filters after using them if you filtered gas?
I just received one of these filters from another seller. Maybe it was Mike Stairs?
Like yourself, I'm a big fan of Kerosene for emergencies. It''s a very BTU dense fuel, that
stores very well. For small quantities, I use 20 liter NATO cans. These cans are air tight, and this helps keep condensation from forming in your fuel. It is SOP at our house, that no kerosene goes into an appliance unless it goes through one of these filters first. I've had to replace wicks before, due to water contamination. It seems this always happens at the most inconvenient times.
Microwave ovens use a similar principle. The fine wire mesh that is in the glass door of your microwave oven allows the much shorter light waves to exit, but will block the much taller microwaves. That's why we can watch our food being heated, and not get nuked at the same time, lol.
Thank you for the video.
rsqhobbs Hello rsqhobbs and thanks for the comment. Looking forward to hearing more from you. Gene
rsqhobbs. I agree with you 100%. I have one of these funnels they are amazing. safe for kerosene, gasoline, diesel, and mixed gasoline for chain saws. I use one only for kerosene and another one for the other fuels. They save money with my kerosene appliances. They are great for questionable water contaminated gasoline. I have seen people use them at race tracks. I learned about the funnel from Miles Stair.
Great video and channel we are subbing
Would you recommend this filter for home heating fuel (kerosene) that was sitting for 10 years in a plastic storage tank(out doors). Will that age of fuel be ok to use in oil burner.
Doas it work to separate water that is in ordinary red alcol 90°!? Thanks
Does this method eliminate the need for the use of alcohol or stabilizer treatments?
seems like you should be able to reuse the funnel?
Is there any thing u can put in oil tank out side to get water out
HEET.....WORKS LIKE MAGIC.....GETS ALL THE WATER OUT OF YOUR GAS TANK....A WONDERFUL PRODUCT...
Could I use that on motor oil
vinegar mixed in petrol tank, is that any problem?
Thank you for the best video on UA-cam ever! If only you'd have mentioned the name of the funnel though!
How to nuterlization of kerosein?
Would it work on petrol?
What about removing ethanol?
Where can u get the funnels at
These work im pretty sure. I just poured diesel that was like 3 years old through one of these into a tractor that hadn't ran in like 10+ years and it fired right up
How do I remove or wash gas from sand
Hello, is there a way to remove larger amounts of water from fuel? About ~5,000 gallons.
I appreciate any help!
Can I put the filtered gasoline into my car or van? Great Info By the way!
+Conor Kline Yes, definitely. You do not want water in your gas. Auto supply stores sell larger filters for autos. Gene
So now I'm curious if this would remove ethanol from gasoline if I added a cup uf water to attract the ethanol
The water is so much worse for most applications than the ethanol. I’ll actually use methanol/ethanol to pull water from my fuel tank in the winter.
Does this work for 70% Isopropyl Alcohol?
so what happened if u put 70% rubbing alcohol from CVS ,the whole bottle, will u have 30% fluid that did not pass through! show me that and i will buy your products!
Checking for Bob Ross comments....
cool technique but i know of something much faster to remove water from the fuel. Look for a product called Iso (yellow bottle, 4 CYCLE ENGINES ONLY) or Iso Heet (red bottle, 2 and 4 cycle engines), poor the bottle in the fuel tank, disolves the water instantly and freshens up the fuel. I am a tool technician for the big orange box store and I have used this product several times and sucessfully everytime, even with significant amounts of water in the gas tank. Each bottle is less than $2.50 usually
+Jeremie Bricout (FireFrenchy) Hi Jeremie. Thanks for the comment. Gene
There are products out there that talk about making the water disappear, making it ‘burn,’What they do is they dissolve the water into the fuel to force it to be carried through your engine. With these new high-pressure, high-performance injectors, that’s a bad idea.
compaq2441 you're right about that. read the back label and make sure it says that it is safe for the injectors. I know that the iso heet product I use is
ISO does not dissolve Water or make it disappear It attaches to the water molecules to make it burn through the combustion of a engine
Does the isopropyl Heet contain anything else like a lubricant or detergent ? Because if it does it could produce some poisonous fumes when burning in a kerosene heater, stove, lantern, or any kerosene appliance. added detergents or oils will ruin quality wicks. I do the alcohol trick in my kerosene appliances it has benefits I use only 99 or 100% pure isopropyl alcohol from a paint supply or medical supply. I am not sure I would look into the contents of Heet and make sure. Also never use the yellow bottle it is methanol and not something that you want to breathe. Heet is made for internal combustion engines it is not for heaters or kerosene appliances with a wick or mantle.
Thanks man, I am wondering the best way to remove water from my boat fuel tank. Like and idiot I added gas after using it and left the gas cap off and my boat cover blew off during the storm. I have about 22 gallons of gas.
Darris Banks Hello Darris that is exactly what I would do. If you look at there web site they actually use a boat as an example. Gene
@@GeneLonergan wait. What web site... what is the name of the filter? No links???? Weird!
i wish you had dumped the water out and poured the kerosene in the jar to show that there was no water at all left in the bottom of the glass
Not working... I've tried to remove water from my boat tank... He should make a video with half water half gas mixed up just like it would be in the tank...
You explained me the mystery of water inside gas tank of a car which caused me problems.
You can "light your homes" with it? Light on fire??? Huh??
Too slow though
Hello Gene, and thank you for sharing this information. I also like how you are so calm & relaxed while you explain about these filters etc. I see people on YT who are kind of loud & hyper like "headless chickens" sometimes. It is a pleasure to watch and learn from you.
Thank you, Martin Dennis from Rotherham South Yorkshire, England.
