- ET’s Kevin Frazier sat down with Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman and his fiance Francie Frane to talk about the unique journey of their love story. Chapman and Frane reveal that ET’s interview with Duane in the wake of Beth Chapman’s death in 2019 played a pivotal role in how they came together. Frane opened up about the death of her husband, and how she and Duane ‘understood the pain that the other one was feeling.’ The ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ star shares whether he believes Beth would approve of their engagement.

It isn't a competition. Getting back to life after your spouse's death is a very hard thing. If you can find someone that knows what you've been through God bless you and your hearts. I watched my fiance pass away of a massive heart attack. As he took his final breath it felt like I did too... if you haven't please don't judge!
If you’ve never lost a spouse you wouldn’t understand, I lost my husband 16 years ago and when we realized he was dying we had a talk about my future and what he wanted for me. He was 43 and I was 40, the biggest thing for him was me not sitting at home and grieving but to find someone who would love and take care of me, so if you’ve never been through it you don’t know what you’d do. My husband and I just celebrated our 13th anniversary and there’s no doubt my first husband had a hand in us meeting! Be kind❤️
He could have. I definitely believe our deceased loved ones can have a hand in something here and there. And glad to hear you met someone else. Alot of people don't get to meet another love like that

He can say "beth passed" a lot easier now. I fully 100% believe that Beth sent Francie to Dog. She knew they could heal each other. Beth is still taking care of him from heaven. Dog will never let anyone else be Mrs. Dog, but it's ok to have a new Mrs. Chapman. God bless both of them.
I was feeling similar it seems like she would steer him to someone good for him. who would understand his grief and that no one is the same as Beth but that they both deserve to have love again and try to pick up the pieces after such loss.

You are so right! Both Beth and Bob are no longer here and Dogs loosing Beth was killing him literally and we can only imagine what Fran was going through! Beth was a very Christian Woman and had she known Dog would suffer Heart Attacks from grief then she’d never have asked that so she with GODS plan found a match and saved Dogs life, Spiritually, Emotionally, and Physically. Fran is a gift from God and non to soon. People DO need to allow these two to be HAPPY and BLESSED there isn’t a time stamp on when a person finds someone it just happens! I love the man and I’m glad he and Fran found each other when they did because GOD KNOWS what could have happened had they not. I believe she's at peace now. I also believe anyone who truly loves wouldn't ask or except someone they love to live a life of celibacy without them. Especially if it isn't what makes them happy and fulfilled. When I was 22 my first love, the man I thought I'd have kids, and grow old with died suddenly. I am now 40. Should I have spent all those years alone? It's selfish to say ”stay lonely for me”, isn't it?
Answer me this. When he dies who meets him in heaven is it the newly merried wife or is it Beth.

You know when my beloved a mother passed, within a year my father got together with another wonderful woman, she was his companion till he died of cancer within 3 yrs and she took such good care of him, and I thank God for her❤️

I think Beth would be happy knowing he's happy. If I die before my husband, I hope he finds another person to live life with. I never want him to experience being lonely and unhappy if he can fix it. I’m very happy Franc and dog.. She’s very good for your health, happiness, less smoking. I smoked 3 packs a day and ended up in the hospital ER. That was in 1995. I couldn’t breathe. I was scared. I also have another health problem and that’s severe panic attacks. I feel them coming on always. Two times I remember the most, once at a friend’s house, I ran out of her home because I couldn’t breathe or so I thought. My heart was going fast, I thought I couldn’t breathe. I got light headed among other things. My friend thought I was on drugs. It wasn’t because I didn’t do them. I won’t allow them in my house because they made everyone’s life worse. The second really bad one was while driving. I got dizzy and really scared more then normal because I was driving,scared of course because I couldn’t pull over. Panic attacks are real although family and friends think different. I’m taking medication for it, thankfully someone believes it’s a real thing. I’ve tried mind over matter, reverting my thoughts to something else but doesn’t work. I worked in retail, I had one coming one, got dizzy and sweaty so I went into the cooler , it slowly went away, no meds then. And the time I went into Sears. The further i went in the worse I felt. I literally thought I was going to pass out so I turned around to leave. It took all I had left in me not run out. I have no doubt they would have chased me thinking I had stolen something. Panic attacks are a real thing. Some people think it’s all in my head but it’s a REAL thing. I have tried Zoloft, Lexapro, and Paxil which all started with a small red patches looking like a rash that spread quickly. looked like the measles and my temperature peaked. They made me wait ! Someone gave me a wet cloth with ice . I used it and left after the feeling of passing out was gone. Nobody takes it seriously. I finally found a doctor who helps me and believes me after 30 years. I know I’m not the only one who experiences these attacks,. I do hope you quit smoking as I did. The oxygen they had me on when I went because I couldn’t breath helped me a great deal. I wanted to take it home. They gave me prednisone , that opened my lungs. Smoke today stinks and I can smell it on who does smoke. It’s nasty. I didn’t realize just how bad until i quit. I have high hopes you can quit too. You have something I didn’t have, that’s support. Everyone needs someone’s support. Having that from someone who loves you...good luck... I’m happy you both found each other. I found my true love again. I had him in 95, issues came up. The issues left in 2014, we found each other again without looking for it and married for 6 yeas ago... life couldn’t be any better...god called it..I believe god has chosen a pathway for everyone so don’t fight it or push it to be yours because if it doesn’t belong to you it won’t last. My husband and I don’t have fights , we go with the flow and it works! God bless everyone!

She's beautiful and has a lovely energy. I know people say they moved too fast, but in reality, I think since they're grieving together about the death of the spouse, they can truly understand and respect each other's grief and love for the previous loves. They won't be jealous or angry that they still have love. I wish them both the best.
She doesn’t seem like she has a beautiful heart and did you hear her say that she does not want dogs daughter to attend your wedding because dogs daughter was telling the truth about things that happened. This lady is evil in my opinion to marry dog right after his wife dies. Dogs daughter said that dog was fooling around with this lady when Beth was in the hospital or shortly after Best died.

I love this guy. I remember watching his show on A&E with my dad ALL the time back in 2007 when I was in high school. Then in 2012, and 2013, I would get up at 5 a.m every week day, to watch re-runs until 9 or 10 a.m. My dad, and I bonded over that show. Those are memories I still carry with me, especially because my dad has wanted nothing to do with me for the past 10 years or so. I miss him a lot.

I felt extreme sadness when Beth passed and I didn't even know her. They seemed like they had a unique and strong love. Something some people search a lifetime for and never find. I too was upset finding out he was engaged but I believe that Dog wouldn't last long without a partner. A part of his soul died with Beth. He needs Francie to survive. For his family. She will never replace Beth but she'll keep him alive for his family until the time comes when he's reunited with his Beth in the end. They are both still grieving and most likely will never stop but at least they can put smiles on eachothers faces during the process

I think they complement each other and go together well. His wife is gone, her husband is gone, both spoke sweet things about their spouses that have passed on and deserve happiness again. She seems like a class act, not like Beth's best friend who moved in and tried to take Beth's place within weeks of her passing. I wish them both well because they seem happy.

I don't think Beth would've wanted him to be as unbelievably heartbroken as he was. Maybe she sent her to him. None of us know, but I really hope he's happier now. Mans was so broken after Beths death.
I agree, however, him and Beth agreed whoever died first, the other would never remarry. It's his life and I'm glad he's happy, same with Francie because she's a great women, but that stings a bit that he's remarried.
I am sooo happy for you both...i almost lost my husband to a fall and brain bleed, pinch and bruised spine, collapsed lung and then he tested negative at the ER but ended up in ICU and 2 weeks later and after a cervical fusion, he got COVID 19 and almost died...Thank GOD he is still here. My heart thought for 44 days I might become a widow, but I fought and fought and warred and warred for my husband's healing along with hundreds of other people and today after 3 months he is walking and doing great. He needs the blood clots in his body to discepate back into where they belong, but he is back preaching the gospel on the same stage he fell off of...Love yoy both Dog and Francie...Hugs

Since Ive lost a spouse I can speak from experience. My heart was broken and I did not know how or if I would/could ever love the same way again. The loneliness was almost paralyzing, mixed with depression that started to consume me. If I hadn’t started dating I would have fallen into an abyss.
We are all so different, no one has the right to judge another’s way to deal with their spouses passing. He’s happy again and she seems happy . That’s all that’s important!

@@Hawwkins I used to but it's a nightmare out there in the dating scene. I met my husband when we were in College and we were together 16 years. He was a true gentlemen in every way he treated me. Men today want sex if they buy you dinner, they want naked pics sent to them or they send them to you. It's crazy. Somewhere the rules changed and I didn't get the memo. So no I don't date. I'm happy without the bs and drama.

I'm amazed and happy for both of them. They really needed each other, respect each other, and no one is out for anything but love, faith, and companionship! I am really pleased with this. I find it hard to believe when couples don’t have that talk, how to spend the rest of your life, when the other dies. Remember it is till death do us part. stop being sexist, there are tons of women who do the same....and there is nothing wrong with it. You know. You're not the one to decide if someone is ready to move on. Some people move on quicker than others. I wish people would stop judging other people because it's not something they would or could do, doesn't mean it's like that for everyone.

I dont want my husband alone heart broken if i die. I love him enough to want him to be happy! We have no kids i dont want him alone. When you are used to having someone it can go 2 ways. U never remarry or you marry fast to fill that void.
It seems they dig women up from their past. My cousin did that. His long time wife died and not even a year later he was with some woman he knew from childhood. I think people think out of desperation and just because they knew someone since childhood doesn’t mean that person is meant for them.
It is the most difficult thing to lose your mate and if you can find another to bring some peace and happiness in your life you should. It doesn’t take away from the love you had for the previous partner. They are never forgotten but life goes on and our loved ones would want them to be happy for their remaining days.

Its sad how many condemn dog right now. This woman also has lost her spouse. She understands the grief and the pain he will go through some days. I used to watch Dog all the time back in the day. I had no idea Beth passed away. I watched their wedding on the show. That's so sad. I'm glad that Duane was able to find some happiness after such a tragedy. I think Beth would like this lady. God Bless you Dog and your family.

I think it was wrong and more worse for Beth to do it to Dog in the first place because it is selfishness to make that type of demand to love one to do after you are gone from their lives and they are suffering in life afterwards. How could any husband or wife not want their surviving spouse to find new love again and to move on in life with love , happiness and joy? Beth had definitely put Dog in no win situation with her making him promise to not remarry when she dies if he did find new love again. I would not want my husband to stay miserable and lonely for rest of his life after I had passed away. I am confident in my husband’s love for me to know him finding new love will not diminished our love in his heart if I died first. Our hearts are big enough to love another in life without overshadowing their deceased wife or husband. People are able to love multiple times that is different but equally deeply connected in life. Life is meant to be shared in love , joy , companionship and happiness not in misery and loneliness.

I lost my Denise in May of '19, I thought how can I survive, how can I live, and my Lord sent me another Angel, Beverly is a second Angel, she's helping me to heal and to live. She tells me, "we are taking Denise's memory into the future with us." I praise and give glory to God in Heaven everyday.

I just saw this and since February this year this is the 2nd major thing that keeps coming out to me thru social media. 12 years ago September 7, 2011 I held my husbands hand as he slipped away. I have been broken ever since and unable to pick up the pieces. There have been days, weeks, and months, and I could not get out of bed. I wish these 2 all the love in the world and I thank you for sharing your story. Recently another youtube touched my heart and I was amazed by another very extraordinary person who also like me lost his spouse and his story of bravery to make music again after 2 decades and how he has shared his grief with the world and both of these journeys have through a very ironic way touched my heart and for the first time in 12 years opened my heart. She told him she would haunt him if he didnt find someone. Hearts take time to mend, and no one can tell you how long to grieve. I lost my son 4 years ago and still grieving horribly for my son.

Huh, no I don't think everyone does.
I remember seeing Dog and Beth at a conference in my city in Canada back in 2008 or 09 when I was 15 and now I am 27, I was wanna be criminal but now I am a great person who doesn’t break the law... After almost 20 years + after all that pain he still hasn’t lost his cool and he taught me well.
