- I have been doing this exercise for over a year now, but it was sporadic brisk walking. In prior years, I took it for granted since I was feeling fine and time was still on my side. But after days of thinking years ago, I realized that I should appreciate brisk walking as I recognized the importance of our health as we age. So, this is what I am doing now, and as much as possible, I will be out at least thrice a week. For how long I will be doing this, only time will tell.
Brisk walking is a fantastic way to improve overall health and well-being. It helps to strengthen the heart, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Regular brisk walking can also aid in weight management by burning calories and boosting metabolism. Additionally, it enhances lung capacity and improves respiratory function. Walking briskly can help to lower blood pressure and improve blood circulation. It also promotes better mental health by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Brisk walking can improve muscle tone and strength, particularly in the legs and core. It helps to maintain healthy bones and joints, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and arthritis. Furthermore, it boosts energy levels and enhances overall stamina. Lastly, brisk walking can improve sleep quality, helping you to feel more rested and rejuvenated.
