So we never knew who held that money and it's an intelligent guess, that it was probably in the hands of top 1-2% but that was never accounted for in calculation of World Inequality Lab since it combine different data sources: national accounts, survey data, fiscal data, and wealth rankings (this doesn't include corruption money).
My point has never been to create a link between demonetisation and More Tax Collection but it has been to state the point that Wealth has always been concentrated in india in hands of 1% even before BJP Government came to power which was thought not to be the issue in 2014 because most people thought wealth was distributed to the poor via welfare but in reality it never reached the people it was intended for despite best efforts by previous Congress Government.
Now, I would borrow your information that the wealth and money was generated after devastating demonetisation which consequently lead to more tax collection from the sources that you mentioned. Henceforth leading to more money pumped to welfare programmes seem to be a better situation. And I agree with your point that he is not the best leader for India there has never been throughout history whether it was Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi or Narendra Modi. India need more, people need better governance, atleast that is something we can agree on. It's truly the future which can tell us what happened right and what was wrong.

First of all, Palki is a journalist. I don’t know why did she or even Akash took part in this debate. They should be there to question what are the issues; not to take sides with a government, be it BJP or Congress.
While Palki’s points were OK and good; I found her commentary quite basic for oxford standard.. She ignored all the wars India has fought in the past; including entering and going to Lahore’s outskirts in 1965; so how was India weak before the surgical strikes?
