I hav the exact same thing happen to my cdj800 mk2 broken cue but it still works ok just no click. I mite give it a try replacing. I was not confident about trying until I saw this video. Thanks.
This video should be specifically titled, "replaceing the button 'covers' on a CDJ" because this one of two problems that can happen with the button. The other being the button actuator underneath that is soldiered to the circuit board losing its click, eventually losing it's functionality. Replacing the actuator, or the whole circuit board all together are the options there.
If you're losing the click, then an actually button must be soldiered in or the circuit board completely be replaced. IF the buttons start moving around loosly, even turning sideways, then that means you only need the covers replaced. sometimes, the problem can be both.
Hey pal can you please help me? My play/pause button is not working properly, it seems to be fine, it even sounds fine, but some times when i press it, it doesnt work. It may be the connection but is there a way to fix it without having to spend that much money? :/
Do you know how to replace a bad button trigger underneath the buttons? I know the two options are either to soldier a new one, or replace the circuit bored.

awesome video mate this is exactly what ive been looking for quick question though,. at 4:27 where u lift up that bit of circuit board.. is it possible to remove that because i need to clean some spilled drink from that section
I did this exactly as you said but there is no click in my button. No noise like a normal functioning CDJ. Does this mean my I need a new switch? Thanks!
same thing was wrong with mine. the actual switch on the pcb board is bad. look up the play/pause board. look for the tiny black buttons on the pcb board. you need to unsolder the little buttons and replace them. its a really cheap fix but does require a little soldering skill. the buttons are like 5 dollars on ebay.
Looks funny having black mk1 buttons on an mk2 but as long as it works, right? Hmm... that probably means I can use the silver buttons on an mk1 model. Sweet, because I prefer the mk1 as it's more no-frills and cheaper.
That`s the correct way but the guy is completely ignorant about any kind of service or mechanics . 1:40 , He tries to unscrew to the wrong direction , clockwise . Then he figures it out and starts to really unscrew it . 3:17 starts to count the screws that has to be unscrewed , makes a total of 5 , BUT there are 6 !!! He forgot the bottom one that can be seen at 4:05 that is STILL ON . At 4:22 the screw that he forgot has magicly disappeared .
