Great video and thank you for the clear instructions. I too ordered the dbmoto tail tidy kit from eBay and am very pleased with the outcome and the integrated number plate light activation. I am in the USA and can confirm that the built in light can be activated on a 2023 KTM SMC R US Spec bike. The dbmoto tail tidy also fits the US Spec license plate size perfectly with no need of additional modification. It is very nice to have the factory tail light and I think that the dbmoto tail tidy is of good quality and easily the best looking available for the current generation 690 Endure/SMC R bikes. Similar to your thoughts, I too had concerns with the included scotch lock so I decided to use a splice/butt connector to run the green power wire from the body harness to the green and white wires (spliced together) on the tail light side, all wrapped with heat shrink for added peace of mind. The built in license plate light is plenty bright enough too. Thanks again for uploading the video!
Nice video and thanks for the heads up because I went to check my screws that hold the license plate bracket & they were both missing, I just replaced them & used blue lock tight & a lock washer. Thanks, everyone ride safe 🙏

Hi there CB I've been following the adventures of 'Wolfgang' pretty much from the get go and found the content really useful and enjoyable. The first thing to mention is that I think the Faithfully reproduced guitar sample is Intro to 'Smash it up' by The Damned. (Not prompted by the sticker appearing on your rally tower btw, ??? Any 690 prizes gratefully received. I also benefitted from the £1500.00 discount on 2020 models and as a returning rider find the 690 more than enough everything for my skills at almost 60 y/o. Is there any chance I missed an episode featuring the Rider 550 from TomTom and how you set it up ? Salut !

Bloody good though, my playing is not what it used to be. I didn’t actually show how I’d fitted the 550 to this bike, mainly because it uses the Rade Garage GPS bar, most people won’t have that. If the offer is still there I'd appreciate some wiring tips and I think will be ok using the Ram mounts although handlebar space is limited due to Cycra wraps. One piece of guitarmanship i dont recognise is the intro to your channel, I was thinking it may be one of your own comps with that tasty Epiphone Les Paul ? I found the seat height of my 690 a real challenge and even dropped the bike within the first 75 miles in local urban setting. The Hemel Hempstead (My nearest dealership) have just fitted the Rally Raid 40mm lowering link and its made all the difference. You really threw the A-list of mods to your bike and must have one of the rare Seat Concepts found in the UK. (out of my budget unfortunately.) I just watched the 'Wayfarer 2 vlog what a track ! Ive also got a short story about meeting 'The Cult' then called 'Southern Deathcult Tribe' but enough ramblings for now. Many thanks and Salut ! SV

how did you plug and unplug that little piece of plastic stick inside the plug? for the life of me i cant get it out... don't want to break it. cheers!
Hello. Not sure I understand. The plugs have a lever that secures it against coming apart. (Stick?) You either (depending on type) press the lever and pull, or (different type) lift the lever and pull. A small screwdriver helps.
Ah I understand. Usually they have a one-way barb of some kind. I did not remove it. Instead (if I understand) I simply bridged it, very carefully. Using a soldering iron to melt away a small amount of insulation. Then soldered bridge wire in and re-insulated both joints. No wires were broken. I can restore it to original just by removing the link.
That's pretty much all I did. I think the light is there for other models, it just needs the power supplying to it But don't cut supply to the tail light, or it will go out. 👍
I think I remember hearing in a video that the USA have some weird throwback law with an issue against LEDs on vehicles. Can't remember what it is, but it made sense to somebody at the time 🤷🏻♂️ That looks better 👍🏼
I think the law says the number plate has to have light to it , does not specify what colour , if the red light its bright enough and close to it its a pass

Hey mate when I did mine I just pulled the pin out of the plug and reinsterted it into the tail light plug that was blanked off. Hope this helps

Well as it's already fitted I thought it easy to enable while it was apart. Passed MOT fine. 👍
