Its interesting someone made a knockoff of a relatively unknown brand. That bass is based on a Musicvox 12 string. They stopped selling them, but they were pretty resonable. I think around a $1k?
This is exactly the info I was after when I first went to record this video! I knew it wasn't an original design. Thanks for the assist there, and the comment! Keep rockin!
@@tannersfavoritethings24 I have a Digitech Whammy 5 (Guitar version). That'll do an octave up and an octave down. But getting it straight out the bass no doubt sounds cleaner and more authentic.
The pickups look like Bartolini Mk1 knockoffs (usually called "soapbar pickups") and they def aren't real Bartolini's as a set of them is anywhere from $350-500. Their most common models are also active, and I don't see a battery compartment. And I'd bet a good sum of money that's not mahogany otherwise it'd weight 12lb+
That rings true, i thought these might be knockoff Bartolinis. You're probably right about the mahogany, it would be a boat anchor, who knows what they use!
Subbed. Honestly a w channel
Thanks! Glad to hear it and let me know if there's any specific gear you'd like me to investigate on this channel!

Very cool, my friend.
Thanks, @johndaugherty4127! Appreciate the comment!
That things isn't ugly, it just needs some love. I bet you turned the trust rod on it too and it plays better.
It takes a proud papa to see beauty in this beast, but i'm glad you do! I'm still trying to get some good sounds out of it!
Thats a very interesting bass. I think I'm happy using a pedal to achieve similar sound though!
That's a good point, I think you could use an Octavizer and achieve a similar sound. This is definitely a novelty instrument.
