Getting to see them in regular clothes for a change, and just having fun, playing around and switching instruments. This was The 2nd single from the album, after the title track. You get focused on the bass intro, then Midori comes in and wakes you up with a dive bomb, lol. Played live at the Knockin' At Heaven's Gate 2023 comeback concerts, nice spotlight for Fami.

Thanks for your reaction. I don't know if Asami and Miyako were thinking about MOTöRHEAD when they wrote 'Stand and Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)', but this song came out as a tribute to Lemmy and MOTöRHEAD. At the beginning of their career, LOVEBITES performed MOTöRHEAD covers at their concerts.
13:51 - this little piece demonstrates how good Haruna's speed and coordination is when playing the cymbals and the drums.
Fans call Midori and Miyako - M&M. M&M are like two sisters.There is no struggle between Miyako and Midori for the right to be the lead guitarist of the band. They give each other the opportunity to showcase their capabilities as guitarists in every LOVEBITES song. Miyako and Midori help each other. Miyako said in an interview that during the forced break (the Covid-19 pandemic, the departure of bassist Miho from the band, the birth of Miyako’s baby and Asami’s baby), she took lessons from Midori. Midori helped Miyako improve her guitar playing speed.

【From an interview with Asami(Vo) and Fami(Ba) for a magazine project in Japan】
When Covid19 subsided and the audience was able to speak up, Asami thought it would be nice to have a song that everyone could sing, both on stage and in the audience.
Asami wanted to use the sound of "river" in the lyrics, but thought it would be strange to use "river" as the chorus.
Asami found "deliver" and thought it would be cool if everyone shouted it out instead of just telling what the word means.
For many Japanese, pronouncing and hearing the English "r" and "l" is difficult.
From there, Asami arrived at "stand and deliver.
"Stand and deliver" is a pirate term that apparently means "Leave all your money!"
Asami thought that if he wrote the lyrics as they were, it would be a song about a "pirate king.☠️
Asami wanted to avoid that.
Asami learned that "deliver" can also mean "to carry out" or "to be free" in addition to "to deliver.
Asami uses "Stand and deliver" with the following interpretation and meaning.
Stand up and be free!

Arise and be free!
Let's get up and be free!
From there, Asami put the following thoughts into the lyrics.

EXCELLENT! To me, it instantly made me think of a movie from 1988 with that same title. I didn't know it was associated with pirates (also thieves, highwaymen and other brigands). I think every band should have an 'anthemic' song that the audience could sing together and feel as one with fists in the air. this is THAT song! Thank you! 🤘🐺🤘

The song "Stand and Deliver" was written with the idea of inviting the audience to join in the song once the restrictions imposed by COVID were relaxed.

That was a really good reaction. LOVEBITES have a unique combination of skill, creativity, charm, humour, personality, stage presence, fan appreciation and beauty. It is for all those reasons that, for me, they are the best band of all time. No other single band can or could bring these 8 (and so many more) attributes to the table. I absolutely love this band and I am lucky to have found them and grateful they exist.

No, their inspiration was clearly drawn elsewhere. Lowbuts once again immersed themselves in the work of a legendary band like Mary's Blood, and apparently the song "R.I.P." was very much to their liking.
But Lowbuts can't even steal it properly. "Goddesses" as always just need to stretch the length of any song by at least 5 minutes. Asami's pathetic vocals are not suitable for such hooligan songs at all; "nails" - according to the old tradition, you should not expect. Typical, stunted buzzing in the style of the M&M duo.
In contrast to this garbage, a 3-minute, high-octane action song by the incomparable Mary's Blood leaves no chance of not falling in love with this song. Just type "Mary's Blood - R.I.P" into the search box, and you'll be left in no doubt as to who the unrivaled speed, timing and precision shredder really is. The lightning-fast Saki, whose solos are objectively considered to be among the most technical, melodic and distinctive, is out of the question for any M&M duo. In the future, I will also tell you which of Mary's Blood's solos were borrowed by the "goddesses" almost one-to-one.

Great reaction ! Towards the end of last year, there was a metal hammer fan poll for "The Best 50 Metal Songs of 2023" and this track came in at #15.
Which is pretty good considering how obscure LOVEBITES still are on a global scale.
Hello. I could be wrong, but 'Stand and Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)' ranked #15 in the 'Best Metal Songs of 2023'. The list is not limited to 50 songs, as two more LOVEBITES songs were in the finals of the 'Best Metal Songs of 2023' : #51 'The Spirit Lives On' and #58 'Dissonance'.
But under the terms of 2023, each artist can only have one song. In accordance with the new conditions, Metal Hammer counted as a result in the list of 'The Best Metal Songs of 2023' only the song that rose highest (out of the three LOVEBITES songs).
Album 'Judgement Day' ranked #15 in 'The 50 Best Metal Albums of 2023'.
