C2 Raiden is just no joke
Mihoyo's logic:
Dps characters who only deal dmg have lower dps than a hybrid who doesnt only deal dmg but also buffs the team's ult dmg and recharges them. Game's balancing was broken before inazuma, but now its just inexistent.

Raiden don't deals more damage than itto as a DPS at C0 , her C2 is just insanely broken and unbalanced , at C0 she deals the same level damage as xiao if you manage to get huge stacks but she isn't itto ganyu hu tao xiangling ayaka or beidou levels of damage but her C2 is easily over 50% damage increase and her weapon is over 20% damage increase
@@kingdoom5022 at least its good that she is an archon so after a year of dominating she will get hard countered just like venti and now slowly zhongli. Raiden isnt as easy to counter as zhongli or venti though. Her c2 just seems like mihoyo's worst mistake at this point. At least units like ganyu or ayaka who are unbalanced only do one thing.
Problem is that she doesnt even need reactions or good timing. Just spam all ult buffs and she does the best dps. Rotations for energy recharge arent even needed because she recharges everyone's ults by dealing dmg. Kazuha and raiden seem like the hardest ones to not make worth using.

You use Eula's kit to her intended use and potential (stacking and backloading damage, if the enemies have a slow windup animation where they get up, it is SUPPOSED to favor Eula, and you can't discount that just so other characters can compete. Even if you started the timer during the invul phase of the primo vishap, it would just add 7+ seconds to everyone, eula will still nuke it the moment its resistance are down, so imo your metric is fine, eulas kit is just amazing at abusing some bosses. Shes weaker against multi phase bosses, but Raiden covers that perfectly in combination with Eula.
It's not fine lol, attacking random enemies then teleporting to the boss to blow them up is not how things work in real gameplay situations like Abyss.
Obviously Eula still wins, but she doesn't have 0.04s times, that's just ridiculous. Building the stacks on her Burst is part of the Burst, that's why fighting the same enemies with Eula can have totally different results because they dash and you miss stacks or you don't crit, etc.
This is the same as the Noelle showcase when he was timing the shield blowup to DRAMATICALLY decrease Noelle's clear times. That's not DPS, because in normal scenarios you can't time the shield blow up

@@Gennosuke1983 as for critting, I think it's Eula own strength that allows for perfect crit fishing (aka 1 big hit). Ayaka cant do that, it is Eula's kit, thus Eula's strength. I think it is fair to skew crit rate crit dmg to crit fish, just to optimize dmg

The 2.4 abyss run felt like itto was competing against 2 Raidens instead if xiao and eula XD.

@@emotionalavocado2336 Yeah, but that's how you use Eula. It's the same way I use my C0 Eula as well. Also the fact that she has Raiden's ult on command on her team is insane. I use Eula, Raiden, Rosaria and Bennett in the team and they absolutely destroy everything they go against.

In terms of relative clear times for Abyss, Anemo Xiao was pretty far off.
He was meta during 1.3+
Since 2.0 he's falling off
He doesn't have good artifact sets or dedicated supports
His constellations are meh too
C1 and C6 are ok but C2 and C4 👽

Mihoyo clearly wanted to nerf his ass so bad back then because he'd have easily stomped the hardest content at that time. Now it seems like Mihoyo doesn't give a fuck if a character is broken as long as it's selling well. So they put out a perfect artifact set along with a dedicated weapon as well as support for them.
I wish Xiao had gotten that same treatment. I hope he does in the future.
However, I think xiao is one of those characters that's gonna sell just fine despite his flaws. Because of his character. And how unique and fun his playstyle is.

Eula’s damage is so frontloaded it *feels* unfair, but when you think about it it’s really reasonable. Eula can build stacks during invulnerable phases. It’s part of her kit and anyone with a eula can do it. It’d be more unfair to nerf Eula and not use her how intended just for a more “fair” time. Great work as always!!
yeah, a Eula player wouldn't stop swinging just because the boss is invincible if it meant they could still gain stacks, so its completely realistic

@@jb2k043 Her signature weapon sobp doesnt give crit as a substat or passive while xiaos and ittos do, hence the “low” crit damage (even tho that ratio is decent from just artifacts) but her talent multipliers make up for it cuz they are just ridiculous. at level 12 her burst base damage is 850% and every stack from her burst(which she gets from hitting NA’s and her skill) she gets +175% on every stack. she can get 30 stacks max and is basically only with c6 r5 sobp (it gives attack speed in the passive) so then her burst comes out to 6100% which is just an ungodly amount

I love how the top dps characters sre characters that dont require reactions. Yes they require good supports to make them great but Non Vape/Melt teams are really healthy actually
Out of these, only xiao and itto don’t use reactions. Eula, Raiden and other dps like Ayaka, Ganyu, Hu Tao all benefits greatly from reaction. Raiden uses overload-vaporized reaction to great effect, and Eula uses superconduct.
@@pnoodl3s775I mean in the National comp. Yea raiden uses those reactions,but as a hyper carry(which she is the best as at c0) she really doesn't need reactions.
@@pnoodl3s775 My only gripe about this showdown is that both Xiao and Itto are element infusing characters whereas Eula uses a nuke burst. It doesn't quite add up to me that Eula is included to this showdown where her playstyle is very devoid to how Xiao and Itto uses their burst. I know they are all DPS' but this showcase is just sideways for that factor.
And yes, despite Eula having no benefits from major reaction, but she does have superconduct available to her, which synergizes with her playstyle; she already have a factor that makes her more powerful than both Xiao and Itto, in which they have no match with.
@@H2Ocup In some variants of hypercarry she still uses reactions, like Sunfire Raiden or Kazuha Raiden. Jean and Kazuha can trigger huge overload damage with Raiden electro infusion and their Pyro swirl.
Of course most of her damage is not based on reactions, but I'd argue she can still gain much benefits out of it, unlike Itto and Xiao who both literally gain nothing from their reactions.

I think that raiden was used a lot in the abyss but I really enjoyed seeing eula dominate with her 0.7 second times

Just the fact that Eula is the only one here that actually can utilize Raiden due to her shorter burst window and insanely good synergy with literally EVERYTHING that Raiden has in her kit says a lot already. You can't be powercrept if your the best partner for an archon (which only gets better with constellations)
not even talking about DPS which is pretty obvious, just team building, Eula is the only one who does not need someone dedicated. She doesn't need a specific electro to apply superconduct, she doesn't need a specific battery, unlike Hu Tao who needs Xingqiu without a replacement or Itto who needs Gorou which no other geo can replace. She's also the most team flexible character as you don't need to worry about her as much to make her good (compared to Ayaka who only excels in freeze teams) I've seen people run Eula in a melt national variation even and dominate speedrun rankings. It's just insane
Edit: Also to point out some of the parts in the video which were unfair to Eula. First the builds, Eula had the worst crit ratio out of all three of them and this is a big issue because out of them 3, she scales the most with better artifacts. The gap would be wider in every category if the artifacts were better. In Overworld where Eula won every single fight, his Eula never used food (see the bathysmal vishap fight. If the other 2 didnt use food, they might not have been able to beat both enemies in 9 seconds and once one of them jumps away, speedrunning is pointless. this is the reason why shintenzu intentionally used food on Xiao which IWTL followed suit with Itto) Moreover, in the geovishap fight, if IWTL removed Zhongli's shield, Eula would still one shot it. This is an issue to the other two who can't shred resistance by themselves and would have lead to longer clear times for both of them (add to the fact that always putting zhongli shield negates the advantage of Eula's burst having super armor-- then again doesn't matter because of the timing methodology) In the abyss, the run by Mr. 89 for 2.3 rotation was a great speedrun and showed unparalleled synergy between the Eula+Ei in continuous runs where having dual hypercarry is the way to go (it's the only real dual hypercarry comp right now that's not for showcase and actually comfy to use regardless of constellations) Both Itto and Xiao are not made to be in a dual carry team with issues like long burst duration and low downtime. Specifically C6 Itto which has almost no downtime, with caveat that both his C2 and Gorou requires more geo in the team. Continuing in the 2.4 abyss run, it was obvious that the entire top half was unfair to Eula with everyone having massive physical resistance. Literally every chamber. Itto faced the same issue in the second chamber with primo geovishap, but being disadvantaged in one chamber is not the same as on all chambers (and the abyss blessing compensated heavily on damage) The last thing is that IWTL showed a "Cryo Eula" run for the final comparison which is fine but if he did a Eula focused team ( like instead of Sara+Kazuha, he put Bennett+Rosaria or even remove Raiden core for another Eula-centric team) then IWTL could have shown the capabilities of Eula even without Raiden instead of using an obvious meme team that is only viable with a C6 Shenhe.

I'd say itto did really goddam well in 2.3 abyss against eula considering the geovishaps resist geo and the rifthounds resisting any element, though eula didn't have this problem cuz raiden.

Eula's stack building before the enemy is vulnerable is an inherent advantage of her backloaded burst. I think its only fair to consider that

C6 Xiao is such a delight to watch he has the most satisfying play style of any character. Kinda sad he is held back by not having a perfect fit support and a dedicated artifact set.

Aside from what you mentioned, I also think his burst is really bad. Look at itto, it's literally the same concept but just so much better. Both deals aoe damage but Itto does it faster, hence he deals way more damage overall, his ult also doesn't have a negative effect such as life consuming like Xiao's and the energy restrictions while in burst mode. What xiao needs is a rework on his ult. Make plunging and jumping faster, increase it's damage at least a little, remove the debuffs of the ult. Also make a better weapon for that boi Xiao cus goddamn that pjs' effect is garbage. It's like his signature weapon but only aesthetically.

When Xiao eventually gets an artifact set, it will probably include recharging a pretty big chunk of his burst on activation
There was leaked set it has 2p 18% ATK and a 4p of 8% ATK on burst activation. Along with a 10% ATK buff every time the character's HP goes down with a max of 4 stacks so you might be able to run an ER sands with it's total of 66% ATK at max stacks

I really just want to thank you for these quality dps showdowns! As well as for your other videos too! You and your videos really help a lot of players to pick which character they would pull for and how to maximize their characters’ potential.
What learned from this video: I need to save up for Raiden c2 lol. The abyss Eula+Raiden run for me is like Eula providing off field support damage to a hyper carry Raiden, and I love it. XD
It's a 2 way carry team with 70/30 split damage with eula doing the most as she's taking the 60% of rotation.

If no raiden, Eula Beidou Fishcl Diona also can be used. With Diona Noblese, and Fishcl Tenacity.
Irs hard to say Eula is winning when raiden’s the strongest character in the game shes more just complimenting raiden rather than being supported by her
Beidou is nowhere near as strong as C6 Raiden like in this video. The reason why the runs were so fast was because Raiden could nearly one shot everything while eula literally one shot everything, so it was just one tap then one tap again.

as a xiao main i would've rather seen xiao main dps having slower runs than itto or eula than seeing xiao used as a viridescent support for raiden and you calling it a "xiao run". i have never, ever seen anyone intentionally play xiao like that so it looked really unfair. yeah, xiao may not be as good as the other two, but that abyss run was just raiden vs itto vs eula and didn't seem to prove any point whatsoever. I guess i'm a little mad, but I genuinely love your content mate so all I can say is I'm disappointed in that abyss run and hope you could've addressed it better, maybe even used someone else like shintenzu's runs for 2.4 instead of doing it yourself because you not being used to playing xiao gets even more evident in that specific run. again, no hate, i tune into your videos within minutes of their release but just my thoughts

The whole point was "the fastest time possible with their optimal teams." This is a speedrun video after all. Maybe he didn't play Xiao the way you think he should, but the truth is that Xiao MDPS just isn't anywhere near as broken as these other characters and his optimal team isn't a team where he's the main damage dealer. He shows you later what time pure Anemo MDPS Xiao got, just not the gameplay.

@@johnnydiep2122 I mean still feels pretty dumb cause 2/3 teams were just Raiden. Even in the "Eula" teams you had 2 characters built to support Raiden and Eula's just there to occasionally ult. It's hard to quantify but it's about the intention of who the team is built around. Like when he did his Amber vs Diona vs Aloy video he basically tried to maximize those characters. Not just run like elegy amber for Hutao and say "hey guys amber won". I'd prefer that, even if Raiden is allowed as a support, than just "Raiden wins".

I’ve recently got Itto and I had Eula
And it made me realize how flexible physical dmg is. Yeah there isn’t too much geo invulnerable opponents but I still noticed how annoying it is to deal with them😭😭
i have a mostly mono geo team with: Itto, Gorou, Zhongli and Bennet. Idrc about Spyrall Abyss. But man its so hard to deal with shields if Itto's Ult is not charged and being F2P its really hard to funnel energy to itto because zhongli isnt a great battery and gorou isnt enough.
Yep, physical might not be the best answer for all situation, but it IS always an answer for every situation. Superconduct + Eula's hold E shreds 65% physical resistance already, which is more than enough for most cases. The only thing that's immune to physical damage is a random debuff on weekly bounty. That basically never affects your regular daily gameplay.
@@bandito4515 yeah I run into the same problem. The real reason that he wasn’t having energy issues here was ittos constellation 2, which I think he honestly forgot about. It makes the cost so much lower and gives so much free recharge it’s crazy
@@VG_Yugi Very true, you need to constantly rotate back to itto after using an elemental skill to funnel all the particles possible to itto. His C2 makes it hella easier and makes his energy demands go away on their own but it's just not possible for a F2P player. My solution the problem was getting the free Yun Jin from the lantern rite event and replacing Zhongli with her. Itto is a tank himself with around 2500 Def so he doesn't really need shields. Zhongli can also generate particles off field with pillar, I honestly recommend putting him back in your party unless you need it for melt ganyu in abyss or something. Yun Jun is an overall worse character, especially since her burst doesn’t work on ittos charged attacks

So my thoughts on this that I didn't fully explain in the video.
Eula has this back loaded damage advantage where she can use the bosses invulnerability against them. It's why she's not in my DPS showdowns regularly because there's always a creative way to blow things up with her.
The fairest alternative, after thinking about it more, is IMO to start timing when the boss's health bar appear. This lowers the percentage difference in time but it keeps the difference in time roughly the same to make it Look more competitive.
There's just no getting around Eula's kit working the way it does against these specific mobs.

If people start pressuring you to not use it then they don't really understand Eula's playstyle then. It's like asking any pyro dps to not vape or melt just because characters like Itto or Xiao can't do it.

This is how eula works, nothing more, nothing less. Watching 13s vs 0.20s doesn't mean itto/xiao are 60 times worse than eula. They have completely different methods of delivering damage or batterying up, along with their respective weaknesses

These videos from IWTL are for fun, even explains it in his disclaimers for every video, and should never be used as examples when you're trying to form an opinion on a character's strength level for the average account. Man I love Raiden Shogun!!!! I can't wait for you to test Ayaka + Shenhe next. I feel Ayaka Shenhe at whale levels are 1 of the top 2 teams in the game now along with raiden teams. I mean now ayaka doesn't need energy to do massive damage. She can even do 100k autos like it's nothing now.
if you look at speedruns, currently whale level Shenhe Ayaka is by far the best team and the rest aren't even close, not even Raiden teams, its just broken

I have these characters at whale levels myself and im in a whale chat in discord also. I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see the shenhe ayaka combo take over the leaderboards. Especially since ayaka doesn't have to worry about energy anymore.
@@DRealLove I think the best part of Shenhe is that her C6 turns C6 Ayaka into a monster with her C6 heavy hits, so she literally has no downtime at all. for 2.3 abyss Shenhe Ayaka combo cleared the whole first half of floor 12 in 26 seconds, that's the fastest clearing time I found, for 2.4, the fastest Shenhe Ayaka run is 53 seconds, I think that's the fastest run I've seen so far, I've seen melt Ganyu and Raiden teams clearing in a bit over 60 seconds

in the end, it turned to Raiden showdown and not a xiao and Eula showdown, which while i adore Raiden, I'm not a big fan of this. This exist to show the pluses and minuses of the characters as the focus of their team. for example, the xiao dps showcase turned to a xiao support showcase, which it shouldn't of. and Eula's dps showcase was fully shared with raiden, who is the other mega burst damage character in the game.
While what you said is true if all you want is a straight comparison between the characters. I feel like it's far more relevant to get the full picture on how they perform in their competitive teams.
On top of that the multiple runs/explanations paint a pretty clear picture on their individual performance.

@@shaheeranwarkhan I think it just annoys people that, unlike xingqiu, raiden contributes to the dps very directly. Ofc Xingqiu is very important for characters like hu tao because of vaporize, but he doesnt deal nearly as much as hu tao, he just enabels her, meanwhile raiden and eula complement each other in such a way that both deal huge damage, so they are both a dps in that sense. Honestly its just hard to compare Eula's best comp to others, not because i think her being in a comp with raiden is unfair, but because raiden is just so busted.

C4 xinyan gives 15% physical damage + and 15% physical resistance shred, she can also use r5 gravestone for 80% attack buff to eula. Which allows eula to hit 3m open world and 7+ in abyss. Which is also why they capped the damage to 9.9

if anything i think this should highlight the need for mihoyo to add some sort of support character for Xiao. Possibly a character that is a particle generator or a character that allows anemo characters the ability to infuse an element during their attacks but not it being swirl. However, these additions will be unlikely to happen.
Why unlikely? They’ve been doing tons of niche supports lately (Sara, Shenhe, Yunjin, Gorou, etc.)

Itto gains crit rate from his ascension and his claymore gives a whopping 88.2% crit dmg
When you have 92 crit rate and a 88% CDmg weapon but still you are on a 220% CDMG, it's really the worst build ever. I have seen casual streamers having a much better ratio like 70/280 or atleast 75/250.

That would be unfair for a dps that relies on reaction since non reaction dps usually have higher scaling but a reaction reliant dps have higher dmg ceiling.So its better to test them with their best teamcomp
I told in previous comment section that more than half the community are clueless and have no idea how things works in speedrunning world and dont use eula raiden otherwise it will be unfair to not just this run but all run you did previously. But you still decided to go with this scuffed comparison and also even changing overworld format for eula specifically. A disadvantage is when others start off with more than you. Xiao isnt on equal grounds with ganyu or itto in terms of support because they have more advantages to them in the forms of artifact sets and support units that are perfect for them.
Regardless of the damage they do, xiao has less buffs and less things that can improve his performance than other five stars dps units do.
As eula and raiden main, I'm very happy watching this vid and when eula just standing there waiting for xiao and itto finish their run is just hilarious. Nice vid dudee...

remember when our genius tactician kokomi sent kazuha and gorou (two support characters ) with some npc to fight a raiden with full resolve and a engulfing lightning. for some reason the end of this showdown reminded me of that cutscene
maybe start the timer from the moment the character you're using starts doing their stuff, like from the moment eula uses her burst instead of when the boss is vulnerable. but also without counting stacks, like primordial spear or itto's artifacts, otherwise it'd be unfair
But eulas windup is always 7 secs so judging from burst onwards can be disadvantageous

I run a Eula C0/R1 - Raiden C2/The Catch. It’s a double carry team. Eula deals around 800/900K during her burst rotation, every 2 Raiden rotation for 450K each.
They are the most (and probably the only) couple of DPS that can fight together summing up instead of stealing time each other.
The only other couple that comes to my mind is Ayaka-Ganyu. That works, just not so damn smoothly as Eula and Raiden.
My team is Eula - Raiden - Bennett core, then C6 Rosaria if I want to focus on Eula, C6 Sara for Raiden, C6 Fischl for both.
