Bahaha, had me in stitches, every 1:40 secs... DONT TOUCH! But each one holds so much beauty, gorgeous video Mina. Fabulous editing compliments to the hubby! This vid really captures the pourers journey, through experimenting, self perceived failure and ultimately, learning! Even though you say you got the bug out of your system, I still think this is possible, round canvas, a cut bucket top and a pair of handcuffs! Ay? Ay? com'on! We all wanna see that! Lol 🤣
Handcuffs??? 😂😂😂 I'm glad you liked it Dirty Artist! You're hilarious, I was laughing until I finally fell asleep.. Thank you for your lovely comment 🥰 Check out Dirty Artist you guys, shes amazing!! ua-cam.com/channels/r5eCfUY9tVpifR-ucof_Qg.html
Mina Villegas Art The top half of a bucket would work well for the canvases that need a forklift to carry for sure, but I’d love to see you try @PaulStarart’s top of a juice container, it holds a lot of paint which injects it under the surface paint like a dirty pour as it travels. You’d do something amazing, I’m sure.
I don’t know what I like best, your personality that makes me smile, or your beautiful work. I have been collecting paint and watching videos for 3years. I need some nerve to set up where my jealous dog won’t get into it and I feel totally competent. Guess you don’t feel that way unless you Do it! (Note to self) Thank you so much!
I so agree. Our job (that you do way better than almost anyone) is to help the paint and canvas to open up and be as amazing and beautiful as it can be. I love your art and love that you celebrate and enjoy each piece that you create. So there you go!
I believe tilting is what creates what's inside you. Anyone can put paint in a cup and see what comes up. Is the tilt that the artist creates the masterpiece! Beautiful
Mad scientist experiments !!!! Muuuaaahaaa!! Love it, love them all ! what if you push up from the underside, or put a half rounded wide ball under to force, gently, the paint to move. Not too high to warp, but just enough to move it enough not to crack. I love to watch you play !!! Your work is STELLAR
You so fun to watch! Great laugh, too. Thank you for solving an open cup pour problem...how to break up the solid blob of colour in the centre. I'm new to pouring...doing it for mental health more than anything. First open cup- [pour ended up with the huge stretched blob. I will swirl the next one to break it up. :-)
Great experiments Mina. I love open cup pours too and the hardest part for me is controlling how much paint I use. They are so beautiful to watch develop but hard to keep all the cool stuff.
You are an amazing teacher and artist. I tried the open cup, strainer and tube without tilting. One got scraped, one was tilted and the last one I ended up blowing out. I was light headed but ended with a ok sunflower. It's fun to play with but.... Thank you for sharing 😁
By the way, they all turned out beautiful. If the process is fun, that’s the most important part. Just don’t stop, the last one where your patience held the longest is my favorite. You didn’t fail, they’re all fabulous and so fun to watch.
I love this video so much...I tried this today...I put little cups as I went and medium too turned out okay but im trying again!!! Love you Mina! and the music was perfect!!
This is the first of your pours I've watched; it was a suggested video. The first 2 pours were amazing b4 you tilted. If it were possible to capture a photo from the video instead of taking one on your phone, I would then enlarge it bc it was incredible art. The finished canvases were great, too, and I understand the necessity of tilting. I'm watching more of your videos now.
Just came up on my UA-cam...does it somehow KNOW I've been experimenting with open cup again lately?? I loved seeing you from a year ago working in series and self directed projects!! I'm with Gail...you call it a failure? LOL, you are ever adorable!!
Girl you are really great to watch. I start my day with morning and you. You create such beauty. Also with a lovely smile. It is a real good way to start the day. Thankyou for sharing. I have to try your method. Beautiful!
This video was such a treat, definitely NOT a fail in the slightest! I love that u pour outside.I dont know if my eyesight is bad but I've watched at least 1000 acrylic pouring videos &that's the first time I've really been able to see the surface of the paint in the cup when showing the consistency. THANKYOU! Ur 1st painting reminds me of "Starry Night".They r all so beautiful. 💜
Dot from UK Hi Mina. You say in your video this number5 painting I believe, is not your favourite. Well I think it is beautiful, I like everything about it. I would love to try this technique but really don't have the space at the moment. Love as always from Dot UK. I think you are the most talented, informative, amusing and entertaining artist on you tube in acrylic pouring art and I have watched a lot of different ones. You should be very proud of yourself. Dot xxx
They are all beautiful. I love your art. Maybe try folding a towel under the center of the canvas to make just a very small mound to help the paint run?
Thanks PawsnFins! For the last pour (the Garnet) my husband suggested the same thing, we used paper towels to make a cushion to go under the middle. It didn't really seem to make much difference, honestly. They need to be tilted and stretched out so you can see all the cool stuff. Thanks for watching and commenting, I hope you have a great day! You have a very intriguing name lol 🥰
Interesting and helpful experiments indeed, Mina. I especially liked the dried result of Test 1-it reminds me of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”-the colors for one. But prettier in more ways than one as to how it made me feel just looking at it. Thank you once again. I just love watching your videos, they’re so inspiring. Your pleasant and friendly manner, your laughter, your skill-all of that makes it such a pleasure. I also love that you film outdoors, and how you talk to the wind sometimes. The lightheartedness makes me keep coming back for more whenever I get that notification. Love it!
The middle is by far the best part of this piece. The colors of rest are beautiful the way they blend and lace. I bet even one coat of varnish will make those colors and contrasts Pop. ^5 WTG!
This was a great experiment, thank you for the video. I’m going to do one of these but I don’t have the patience not to tilt, I’ll see if I can refrain!! I do love this technique and as always you inspire me. Sharon 👍🎨❤️
They looked like fun for sure, what would happen if you used a lazy susan to help keep the circular look? I just might try it tomorrow and let you know, I will have a small tilt one just one side
Watching your videos help me so much I love your work and it def inspires me im a new artist well I'm not new just new at showing and selling my artwork I've actually sold a few paintings that were inspired from your videos I've learned so much from watching
Thank you Brooke! That's awesome, I'm so glad to hear the videos are helping you!! Congratulations on selling, that's even more awesome!! You go girl!! 🥳🥳🥳
I had to try this the moment I saw you have so much fun! Thank you for showing us this technique. My canvas has the most gorgeous cells I have ever done!
I love your work. I love making art in many forms. I know what you mean about patients! I really love the fantasy one and one you called twilight. I’m glad to get to know you and your work! Janna🧚♀️
I love this, I love your personality, I’m just like you, I have no patience. One of my best paintings is one that I spent hours squirting water on from a tiny water bottle because my paint is always too thick, I think maybe that’s the key.
Mina, as always I love watching you you are full of so much energy and fun , never a dull video and also love when your outside it’s just inspirational when you are outside with the sounds of nature and beautiful background!! Why don’t you do a pour of what you are feeling when you are outside.I would love to see the out comes of that . And as always they all are beautiful just as beautiful as you are inside and out !! Thanks for sharing!!! Lisa
Hi Lisa! I love being outside 😁 I work as a succulent landscape designer, I'm always puttering with something in the garden lol my husband jokes that I live outside, I just sleep in the house 😂 a pour based on what I'm feeling in the garden is a very interesting idea.. I do often take inspiration from Mother Nature.. my video 'Apricots on Mars' was inspired by the ripe peaches I had been eating all week 🍑 🥰 thanks for watching! 🥰
Mina Villegas Art hi Mina,as always this is why I love watching you you are full of fun ,I can taste those peaches while you talk about them ? L were are you located st ?? Mina I do love your videos you just full of life , keep up with your fun in art and Iwill always be on your journey watching you !! Good luck on all your new inspirations thanks Mina Lisa
Thank you for experimenting and sharing so much detail and personal feedback on your work! Yup, you've totally inspired me and I'm sharing my new obsession with friends as they visit my mountain home on retreat. It's a new offering of something fun to inspire play and creativity in my friends' lives. You're terrific for sharing the technical details/supply info, really helps us cut down on our own trial and error (and wasted paint & canvases). Can't tell you how much I appreciate shared creativity Mina - your videos got my creative juices flowing after years spent healing my body, and I'm so excited to explore this new avenue that's adding energy to my life when I haven't had much for awhile. Plus your laughter is contagious! :)
That's the best comment! I love that you're feeling better and your creative juices are flowing! Im very happy you are finding the videos helpful! I frequently get inspired by other artists, and need to go play with my colors lol! My philosophy has always been that the light of a candle is never diminished by sharing the flame, it just makes the whole world a brighter place. Much love and light to you ❤❤❤
Wow! Love it. You cannot imagine how happy I was to see you had a video out. Absolutely love it. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing. Now I am motivated to keep trying.

You could be right about that Chris! Hmm, I might have to do another open cup and try pouring it in slower.. I was thinking I should pour from up high to get gravity to push the paint under to create cells. Oh boy, I'm all excited now lol 😂
Have you tried placing something under the canvas to make it mound up slightly so that gravity aids the spreading paint? Your work is beautiful and fascinating.
Hi Jeanne! For the last experiment my hubby suggested something under the middle too, so we wadded up some paper towels and I smushed them so it was barely elevating the surface, it was just flat. Unfortunately it didn't seem to make much difference. Great idea tho! Thanks for watching and commenting 🥰 happy Saturday!
Hi Rinske! Welcome! Im so glad you enjoyed it! This was a really interesting experience, I was very excited and frustrated at the same time lol but I enjoyed the journey very much ❤ I love watching the paint move, and when the cells appear its always magical to me. My conclusion for this experiment is that they need to be tilted and stretched so that you can see all the hidden treasures in there. Thank you so much for watching ❤
I really liked the”fail” painting because you let the paint flow the way it wants . Colours are beautiful together .What shout using several small cups together ?
You make me laugh so hard. Patience is hard...I know I tend to grab stuff from my kids (who are adults) when they are struggling and I need to let them do it. So I totally understand not having the time or the patience to let your paint spread itself out...plus like you said you don’t want your paint to crack. Your results are beautiful as usual though ☺️💖
Bahaha, had me in stitches, every 1:40 secs... DONT TOUCH! But each one holds so much beauty, gorgeous video Mina. Fabulous editing compliments to the hubby! Dirty Artist round Canvas, Yes!

I believe tilting is what creates what's inside you. Anyone can put paint in a cup and see what comes up. Is the tilt that the artist creates the masterpiece! Beautiful
I really like the flame look of the outer edges of the one with the one you didn't tilt.
Have you tried putting a cloth underneath the canvas to help it flow? Or a balloon? You won’t need to tilt then.
You’re so much fun xxx
Wow, thanks for all the beautiful experiments. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🕊️✌️😁😃🤗

Hey Mina, you rock.
Try spinning it out on a lazy susan after the pour.
Turns out fabulous.
Love that garnet! I kept wanting to scream, tilt it, tilt it and you did. You seem like such a happy person, paint fumes. Thank you
Красивый рисунок получился! Спасибо!

You are hilarious, as an artist go with your own flow, no rules and your tilts are so gorgeous!
Such an informative and helpful video Mina, thank you so very much for all you do for us✌️♥️
I love the way the last one turned out.. looks like a fiery planet.. maybe mercury or mars??
I like all of them...
I love the “Dragon’s Eye” 👍🏼❤️. Open cup pours are a blast to do! Thank you for sharing your experiments so we can learn as well.

I like what you do the best.
All your failed paintings are beautiful. Maybe you should try a round canvas and see how that turns out without tilting
I love your experiments, there are so many things that can happen depending on the pouring techniques and tilting. Beautiful work!

Your work is STUNNING 😍
Wow! Love it. You cannot imagine how happy I was to see you had a video out. Absolutely love it. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing. Now I am motivated to keep trying.
Loved the small canvas, but the large on seemed to prove that the dynamic that works is FLOW, and if that isn't present the result is not as interesting because it is so much more static. To make this flow happen without tilting I think you would have to rig the potential for flow to occur. Canvas is quite flexible and susceptible to any weight on it, so that would naturally decrease flow even with a slight dip under the weight of the paint. Counteract that with something marginally higher than the edge and placed under the centre would change the dynamic altogether and increase to potential for flow. Different shapes and heights would produce different. effects. Though I tend to think it would not be anywhere near as artistically satisfying as creating results by tilting to choice! The fun and fascination must be in the process and the choices you make, and those can be seen in the results which are so much more interesting than just leaving it up to mechanics. Your choices rock, Mina, you just proved your own artistry works!
These are so pretty! inspired to try this technique myself!
It's so much fun!! Try it! Paint on the thinner side, tilt it slowly 😉
