    Great breakdown! Thank you for doing these, it's always better to have all the cool stuff shown and properly explained as opposed to having them simply listed in the docs, one can easily miss some good features.

    Just a heads-up. Wait for the hotfix of Update 1. The first release has a few nasty bugs like textures not displaying properly in the viewport and a few others like random crashes when opening files.

      That's correct there have been a few issues, but much of those have been already adressed in the nightlies. Haven't had any crashes after running those.

      There are new official builds where the reported problems are fixed.

      Some issues with itoo forest pack edge clipping where shadows are rendered when geometry is clipped/ hidden. I hope this is fixed soon!

    Hey Jonas, why do you think people switch to Corona? I hear a lot about it but I never had problems with vray in order to switch. especially with these impactful updates. Also online libraries are much more vray friendly. What do you think ???

      Good question. When I used Corona liked the ease of use and I had the feeling it rendered nicer images out of the box. In my opinion mainly because tonemapping is on by default and it has some nice default look to it. For me I prefer VRay because it offers more features and seems more flexible and mature. But beginners may feel they get nicer results in Corona as it makes some of the choices for you. Hope that makes sense 😀

    For ai upscaling test you can't just take 50% size render and upscale it in Photoshop to fit for your comparison since photoshop has it own ai upscaling(preserve detail 2.0) depending on your default settings when you upscaled that image, best is to upscale it with "nearest" setting for comparison.

      Well yeah, you are right. However the Photoshop upscaling doesn't really impress in terms of quality, so I took that as a comparison :-)

    I haven't had time to experiment with the new procedural clouds feature. Can we have the option to make this not affect alpha in order to colour grade the Sky separately in post-production?

      Actually the procedural clouds don't affect the alpha. So as of now you can just do grading on the whole sky. I would like to have an option to generate a mask for the clouds but thats not possible at the moment.

    Can I ask a question; Concerning the VRay SUN something similar to night but with stars and nebulae will we have in a future version? Do you know? If you know of course.

    this is one of the biggest updates! never did i feel like getting so many useful things at once.
    areal perspective with an option to not affect alpha is big news. been way to long...
    and also changing the aspect ratio for different cameras is top!
    proportion guide in the view port...loving it.
    faster rendering of fog...yessss!
    not too fond of AI upscaling, but even this is nice to have and especially good for quick drafts. But i guess the masks are not rendered in default target resolution, but also upscaled? :/
    the advanced light control is nice from an artistic standpoint, eventhough i'm probably never going to use it.

      Hi, yes for the AI upscaling would need to do more testing. To me it seems promising so far but would need to test with higher resolutions. I think 1920 upscale to 3840 should work quite well as it wouldn't have to guess so many details and just focus on keeping the contour lines sharp.
      The Upscaler seems to only apply for the RGB and not on the render elements. So those are rendered in half resolution without AI upscaling and even though they are saved out in the target resolution they appear blurry. So if you rely on multi layer compositing this might not be the best solution as of now.

      @@JonasNoell Actually render elements which have the "denoise" option turned on will be denoised and upscaled properly (this option is off by default for most render elements).

    How did you that highly saturated sky with clouds whenever I put vray sun with sky I get burn out sky & when I low the exposure sky has that greyish shade which doesn't look realistic

      You can separately color correct the sky. By default it looks very blown out and grayish that is true.

    Unreal Engine 5 is/already going to obliterate V-Ray. Vray is boomer software in comparison

      @@JonasNoell Not for much longer. UE5.2 with Lumen and Path tracing. V-Ray is old hat, its legacy software. It can't handle the amount of objects UE5 can render, it crashes constantly and UE5 is FREE. Ditch Vray and get on UE5.
