No Use for a Name (sometimes abbreviated NUFAN or No Use) was a punk rock band from San Jose, California, United States formed in 1987 by Chris Dodge, Steve Papoutsis, Rory Koff and John Meyer. The band's sound evolved considerably through its career, taking on a much lighter brand of melodic punk as the years passed and Tony Sly replaced Meyer on vocals in 1989. After frontman Sly's death on July 31, 2012, the remaining members chose to disband.

This song and "For Fiona" make me cry. The latter more so as I believe Tony wrote it for his daughter 😭
This is the very song that got me into this AMAZING band. I then went on to find making friends, leche con carne, more betterness, and don’t miss the train, and they quickly became an easily too 5 band on my list. Sadly I never got to see them live, and I’ll forever regret that. Hard rock bottom is one of the few albums I can listen to front to back, sing every word, and do it again and again, over and over, and never get tired of it. We lost an amazing songwriter, and an even more amazing band. Glad I can at least come and see these videos to see what I missed out on. This song in particular, to me at least, is the best of their best. This one and the answer is still no. I wish I could go back in time just to see them. Sucks I’ll never get that chance.
tony helped me tune my guitar a little sharper at the blasting room. he told me that recordings were never as good as live shows - i am paraphrasing - but that true fans see through the bullshit. Live in a Dive is as close as you will get, but it should be close enough.
How does this only have 770 views?! This is one probably the best quality live recording of this song I've seen!
The drums sound awful though. Well, at least the way they are mixed sucks. At first, I was thinking that the drummer was skipping every second beat with his bass drum'...but then I realized that it was just being drowned out by the super loud and 'trebly' hi hat. The drum levels are all over the place. Just turning up the kick would have made it bearable. The video footage is great though. Great band. It sucks that they are no more.

SoCal fans need to star subscribing to this channel. I love it, I realized after viewing the best live performances from punk bands I like on youtube, they were all in Sydney, then I noticed it was the same channel. Subscribe and just search bands/songs. Trust me, it's not every band I want to find, but there's enough bands of so many genres that are good. I grew up in LA listening to socal punk rock, then expanded on bands and styles, this channel is great to say the least, forever thumbs up on their videos.
