Just discovered this video while looking for some in-depth info about ceramics. Really informative - thanks. I agree with Craig's comment that it should be required viewing for all electronic engineers!
Tantalum is safe? The reason why smart meters are so bad is because they have tantalum in them!!! There where the radiation comes from!!!!!!! OH NOES!!!
This video should be required viewing by all EE students and circuit designers. I've been designing for 30+ years and learned so much. Thanks

Wow thanks a lot. A lot of information and very funny ! Great work!!!
Very entertaining (and informative) speaker
Very nice talk by the bald engineer!
Very educational. Great video!
Very good video, thank you James!
Excellent video. Thanks.
great, now double the fear when salvaging components from old PCBs
Great stuff (hey, marketing, if my product doesn't work, I'm not going back to you, so think twice about misleading me)
Film capacitors weren't discussed.
Super capacitors ftw!
It's one word... "Supercapacitors". ;)
What are capacitors and why would one want them?
And what are Volts?
However, I know what the solution to your problem is:
Non-edible dielectric.
Are you the xkcd beret guy?

Is this the bald engineer from element 14?
Yes. I used to make videos for element14. This was recorded a couple of years before that.
