Hello Guenther 's , I am a Guenther too!
Besides the old Mennonite strict ways, I think that the life you live is the way GOD intended for us to live. You folks are a Blessing to watch.
My 19 yr old Grandson is a go getter. He worked two jobs all summer to save for his car payments while in college. Plumbers helper and his little Kroger high school job. He' in school on scholarship and his jobs are paying for his brand new car he bought himself. So proud of him. His gf too. She's in Embry-Riddle in Daytona with a set career path. They both have goals. Unlike so many teens these days.
What a Wonderful Family you are! I bought a jug of your Sorgrum & it is wonderful. I bought it because I knew that a company named Muddy Pond Had to be a good, conservative company. Then I discovered your UA-cam channel & I am So glad that I did! This video is awesome & I am looking forward to watching all of your videos, past & future! I also subscribe to Homesteading With the Zimmerman's. They are also wonderful people. Like you, they left the Mennonite Community years ago but still live & teach their children the Mennonite ways of raising children, teaching their children, gardening, making cheese, butter, bread, canning, etc. They still see their parents & siblings. I also watch Hershberger Miracle Homestead. Martha & her Sister Dorthy are mennonite. They have never been married, not because they didn't want families, but because they have always taken care of their Bamily Members when they were ill. Martha's twin brother, Buddy was oxygen deprived during birth which left him mentally handicapped. They take wonderful care of him too. If you want to please check both of these channels. Thank You, Brenda Wichita Kansas
❤my folks don't understand when God gives me the desires of my ❤but I am thankful 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's great to know you're finding your joy and purpose!
We made the huge mistake of moving to south Florida, and after four years, we are back in our beloved Tennessee! We lived just outside of Knoxville for 30 years and had been to Muddy Pond many times. We now live on Mowbray Mountain just outside of Soddy Daisy! You can take the boy out of the mountains, but not the mountains out of the boy!
I truly believe that you can live a modern life style & still have solid moral values, this family is living proof of it.
Thanks for the video John.

@@theappalachianchannel Thanks again John, it is truly a breath of fresh air watching your videos.
I totally agree
Good people….faith and family. Pillars of the community. This is how we should all live.
Land worth more than Gold!!!
Wise family.
❤I thank God for you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I feel so privileged to have grown my family on a family farm with aunts, uncles and grandparents living all around. Today we cherish the memories and my daughter and i are all left on the farm. Jus waiting on the return of Christ.
Sir, you are truly blessed !! I love how the mules cross-walk sideways.
Thank you, John. I love watching your videos on the Guenthers, what a wonderful family. Makes me reminisce when I was a young girl how my family would get together like this on Sundays at my grandparents’ house before they passed away. Like Mark’s brother was saying, many families just kind of fall apart once the older generation passes away which is what happened with mine, but I’m grateful to God to have had the good years that I did, and hope to start traditions like these with a family of my own someday. I love their work ethic and hospitality, truly inspirational. Thanks again and God Bless you all ❤
Where did you grow up, Caitlin?
Amen. God bless.
@@theappalachianchannel I grew up in northern Virginia. My great grandparents owned quite a bit of land just across the occaquan river in Fairfax county when it was still pretty rural, which would be hard to believe seeing it now. But those good hard working and family values got passed down to my grandparents who did their best to pass them onto later generations. The world and that area began to change and “modernize” pretty quickly though. The world has its pull on our souls but I think it’s these family values and hard work ethic that are so necessary to keep us grounded in who God created us to be in His image. Prayer before family supper was my only exposure to God growing up, but He called to me in the last few years and now Jesus is my Savior and best friend and His Word is my favorite thing to read. Hallelujah 🙌 this video had me wondering what heaven will be like because in many ways, this would be it to me 🤩😂🥰 thanks John, you do great work
My family was the same way. So many great memories of days gone by. Once my mother passed away it seems the family just fell apart. I really love and respect the Guenthers's values and way of living.
@@caitlin5194 beautiful words, love to you and your family

I just received my muddy Pond sorghum and it is the best tasting Sorghum ever! I’m 77 years of age and I’ve tasted quite a few sorghum over the years. There’s is the best thank you.just an amazing family. May God bless them.
My husband and I were able to see Mr. Guenther at Dollywood. I loved this video and getting to know his family. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so very much for sharing your family life from back then to today’s time.
I am a native from Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, now living in Las Vegas, Nevada, never knew much of Mennonite history. I am truly blessed and enjoyed your family history sharing video very much. Very precious! God’s blessings on your entire family! Aloha!
Absolutely love this family. I can't get enough of the Muddy Pond videos. Thank you to all Gunthers & John for introducing this wonderful family to us
John, God has used you to spread love around our nation. Knowing about the Guentherie's have brought happiness in my life. IDK why, but, Tennessee has alway's been in my life. God willing, I will visit East Tennessee. ❤
I enjoyed 5his family discussion so much. My father was one of eight and the best times were when the siblings, their spouse's and all the cousins would get together and share stories and laugh. Such warm, happy times and we would learn a lot about the family, great grandparents included, past and present. We don't seem to do that much anymore and it is such a shame. And please tell Pete to join in. We would love to hear some of the stories he is keeping. My father lost his left arm, below the elbow in 1947 at dupont. He had such a personality and could tell some of the best stories in any crowd. Come on Pete, we would love to meet you! Have a blessed day everyone.
Watching that squeezing mill brings back memories of an era that won me a ffa ribbon. Our squeezer was belted up to a jd 2 cylinder tractor with a side pto. A little more modern 😊

Love this edit John! Thank you so much for all your time and effort in making these videos. We really appreciate it!
It’s a honor getting to document your family, Charlotte. I will be back on the 10th, see you then ….
I second that!
That hymn Priase God From Whom all Blessings Flow is prevalent in many denominations. I'm familar with it in the Episcopal church, which I am no longer affiliated with.
I am a Guenther too! My Grandma was a Guenther.
Very good interview John, enjoyed it.
I love your videos because I’m a Mennonite in Saskatchewan Canada. 🇨🇦 I love the stories.
Fascinating. Thank you.
Glad to hear from you John! I was praying you were okay!
John I was wondering if the Madison Dry goods store and Briggs Restaurant got damaged in the flooding
I've never claimed any religion, but I speak in a special prayer language sometimes, and it seems to me the more I speak it Jesus blesses me further. Jesus is the way to Heaven.
Love the channel
Go Vols!
We’re butchering a beef this year,new experiences.
Hello, is Michelle married or single? Shes very pretty!:) God bless you and this family!🙏
she is married
Ok thanks! Take care and thanks for what you do! God bless!
Was this area in the path of Helene?
I've watched most of all of your video's. I was holding this question for another episode, for obvious reasons. It's regarding the Gunther's. Not the sorghum syrup but cracklings. I'm in north ga and I can't find cracklings anywhere at my local grocers. I can't just get out and drive the countryside looking for them. I've checked local processors including Amish. Nada. I was wondering about the Gunther's. If I type in search bar of my grocers "cracklings" I get fried pork skins. You know, the snack stuff in a bag. I want real cracklings, Skinless. The kind I've seen the Gunthers cook with. Thats what I want. I'm willing to pay top dollar to have them shipped. It's about a 9 hr drive for me from here to go pick them up, if they're even avail.. Can you help or hook me up with someone in authority that is willing to say, yes we'll ship you.?
So glad that this family found the liberality that Christ died to acquire for us!!! All things are lawful, but all things do not edify! Tradition is nice, but not necessary. (The tradition of men makes the word of God of no effect) Mark 7:13. They have found a nice balance, it seems, between their old traditions and the convenience of modernization.
Modernization cannot undo what Christ did on the cross. Our heart posture is what matters; being submitted to the authority and love of God! It is by grace we are saved through faith, it is not of ourselves, but a gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast!
Grace turns our eyes from our own goodness to acknowledge God and His goodness. Grace is the most powerful expression of love in all of creation! That is why Jesus is the only way! He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords!!!
Good job John let them know still looking for my adoption papers thy must have the wrong address or something?

The Guenthers didn't get any damage but had a delay of cutting cane a few days because fields were still wet.
