In the question 2:45:31, Couldn't D) 8/5, 29/5 be also the answer. My approach to this problem is as follows:-) By Intercept form -> X/3 + Y/1 = 1 We get equation of line to be X+3Y=3. Now let (h,k) be the mirror image of the point (-1,-4) w.r.t to the the given line. Since, (h,k) is mirror image, both (h,k) and (-1,-4) will be equidistant from the given line, so the one of the point on X+3Y=3 will be ( (h-1)/2 , (k-4)/4). Put this in equation (h-1)/2 + 3(k-4)/2 = 3 From here, h+3k = 19. Now by putting values from option Both (1) 11/5, 28/5 and (4) 8/5, 29/5 are satisfying.
