Congrats on being brave and adventurous by driving out of the parking garage and around a big city!!!!! You reminded me of Melissa McCarthy when you were talking to yourself in the garage 🤣 At the end of the day, don't forget to congratulate yourself, soak up all that self-praise and tomorrow will be easier 📈
Years ago, I attended a conference at a really big hotel. One day, I opted to go sit outside in a kind of courtyard area to thaw out. As I was sitting there, minding my own business, I happened to look up and about six floors up, I see a man in his tighty-whiteys standing in his window, just checking things out. The awkward part is when we made eye contact. Instead of looking away, I just smiled and waved. Poor guy nearly snatched the curtains down trying to close them!! HEHEHEHEHEHE!!!
I love how you say “We’ll figure it out”. Thats something I say all the time, especially since my 86 year old parents have recently decided to move. They can’t find anything and have no idea where they want everything to go. Yup we’ll figure it out.
Going through that parking garage reminded me of IU Methodist downtown Indy. Kudos to you for your exploration! Some fun things to bring home. I see you bought the red shelf...yay!!! Have fun, stay safe
I agree with you about parking garages I use to freak out in them Since my husband had cancer treatments I had to get over my fear and learn to navigate the one by the cancer center still nervous but I can do it Proud of you girl You are brave
Misty, I lived in Chicago for a few years and seriously know that parking garage, I am so proud of you 👏👏😆😆, you did Great! The funny thing about Downtown Chicago, there is always a traffic jam any time of the day. Considering your First Time dealing with a GPS and new highways, where most people drive 85 mph I give you the Chicago Land Crown, 🎉😎🎉😎. Just know, there is nothing you can’t accomplish 👏🎉❤️👏🎉❤️👏🎉❤️👏🎉❤️
What a brave girl you are driving in the city, I am a scaredy cat. You found some great things at the antique malls. Enjoy your jack and coke and have a great evening.
Wow you’re so brave! I would be scared to death to drive in a big city like that by myself! Good job to Amie for the recommendation. I see you got the red shelf…love it! Relax and have a great time!
Look at YOU!! You did it… doesn’t it feel gratifying when you do something that maybe a challenge. 😊 I always holler out in my car… You did it Tracy Lynn. 😅 You did it Misty!!! Such amazing places you went to. 💛
You’re close to my hometown, Rockford! It’s 90 miles northwest of Chicago. I used to go with my hubby to his conferences and we got to go to some fantastic places. D.C., Boston, New Orleans, Orlando, Maui, Albuquerque, etc. they were always so much fun! xoxo Joan
You did great getting out of the parking garage! I'm like you...parking garages can be a struggle. I couldn't get over how many traffic lights you had to get thru before leaving the city. I loved the malls you shopped...thanks so much for sharing! Stay safe. 💟
Selling Dead People's Things is a riot! And the author owns an antique mall there in Chicagoland (or did at the time he wrote the book). There is also a sequel, but I forget the name.
I went to Chicago one time to do some shopping with a friend... and we wind up going down a one way street the wrong way... we were lucky that we really didn't get beat over the coals by other drivers ...we didn't have to go to far before we were able to turn on another street ...going the correct way...
You had a great haul today. Nice antique places there. Glad you made it back safe. You’re braver than I am girl. Gotta be proud of yourself. Have a good rest your trip.
Wow, you are so brave driving around Chicago! I don't think I would be that Brave ! That is Awsome. Winfield looked really great, definitely am going to have to take a road trip there ! America's antique mall definitely looked huge ! You really found some great treasures at both places ! I hope you get some me time tomorrow!
You did a great job driving in Chicago 😮! I got a flashback as you were navigating the parking garage, I parked in a garage just like that one, in the Texas Medical Center for several years. I drove a 2500 Dodge quad cab truck. The first few times I held my breath, the truck cleared the posts by mere inches on the side and I felt like ducking as I drove under the low beams 😳 but the truck and I survived LOL.❤ Great shops, too bad they are in Chicago 😂 , I did the city thing and I’m over it already 😊. Have fun and see you soon!
We play Uno Flip with our friends, it gets a little wild, but we love it. I had to drive through the middle of Chicago twice during rush hour (in a snow storm) and said never again. Looking forward to planning a trip with the hubby to go to that huge antique place. Thanks for showing it.
Thanks for the fun adventure, Misty!! I always think I'm brave when I drive in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St. Paul, Mn), but you're much braver driving in Chicago!!! 💚 💛 💚
Misty, I got nervous watching you drive. My daughter lives in Milwaukee so we have to go thru Chicago going and coming. Makes me crazy. No matter what time it is there’s tons of traffic. The antique mall with the red cabinet was a great place. So many fun things with pretty amazing prices. Saw the cabinet in your car, you would of kicked yourself if you wouldn’t of bought it. You would of had to back and get it. Lol. Be safe😊
Living vicariously @ times thru resellers & going shopping w/you all. Ill h 4:51 ave to say the antique store you took us to had some of the best treasures I've seen in a long time. Great things in each & every booth
Man, those antique stores were chocked full o goodies. I was drooling. You are so brave to navigate getting out of the city. I was born without a sense of direction (hard even with GPS-turn east? out of the parking garage?) Huh? so that would have been scary for me.
You went to my usual haunts. I love both of the Winfield stores you explored and I never leave empty handed. I've been to Americas Antique Mall only once since it opened and only got through half of it. That mall has a lot of crafty stuff, not just antiques. You went pretty far from downtown-kudos to you! If you have time to go to another place. Check out the biggest thrift store in the western suburbs of Chicago, Thrift and Dollar in Aurora IL. It's packed to the brim! There are a few other Antique stores in Aurora as well you could visit. Enjoyed your video of places I know!
I admire your bravery and sense of adventure going out in an unfamiliar city. The shops were pretty nice. Different sorts of things. Thanks for letting us tag along. Here in CO. Bracing for biggest snow of the season.
Love your courage. You did well. I am happy to see the paper eggs.! I. Grew up and lived in the area you showed. Things change so fast that I would never find my way. There used to be To be shops downtown. It's to late now but next time maybe? Thanks for all you do Misty.
You did a good job at the parking garage, Misty. I dont drive, and a parking garage is not my favourite place. 😶 That big antique mall is the mother ship off all antique malls.😁🛒❣️
We have parking garages like that here in Boston. They go round & round.... I'm afraid of heights and always end up at the top ! Yah did great getting around town ❤
I refuse to go into parking garages. They are the devil. I will get lost. I will just not go places if there's not adequate (non parking ramp) parking. Props to you, Misty. You are braver than me!!
Oh what a fun trip! Will have to see where it is located in relation to a friend who lives an hour away from Chicago! You go girl! I get stressed in garages I am not familiar with.
It reminds me of me when I go to Seattle. Those ceilings are so low and I’m always afraid I’ll go the wrong way. In the parking garages. Good job! Love looking in other peoples hotel rooms
Hi Misty, I live near Antiques of Winfield! It is one of my favorite antique malls in the area. I am glad you found some good things. I love the red shelf you got! You did ALOT of driving around that day. There is never a good time to drive to the city where you don't hit traffic.
The beginning cracked me up 😂 You are braver than me Misty!! I am the type of person that will do everything possible to avoid parking garages, parallel parking, I won’t go through car washes, and I will take three right hand turns before trying to take a left at a tough intersection. 🤷🏻♀️
Misty, I am a bit claustrophobic and when you were in that parking garage, my heart was beating so fast and my hands were almost sweating! I hate closed in places like that. The shops you went to in this video were fun to see, Oh, congratulations for making it out of the garage and around town and back all by your self. Lol
I once went the wrong way out of a parking garage, the whole way I guess lol. I got to the enterence and the arm wouldn't go up cuz i was going the wrong way. I had to call security and they had to open the gate!
I am working near Pittsburgh this week and there is a Goodwill within walking distance from my hotel. I’ve gone twice and found a couple things but in general it’s mostly old stuff (not good old stuff, just old stuff that no one wants 😊). I’m looking forward to stopping at some antique stores on my drive home though.
That was a cool day..finding some nice treasures. I think you did extremely well driving around.👍🏼👌🏻 I love these videos so much.Have a wonderful weekend,Misty.🙏🏻🥰
The parking garage is exactly like the ones we have in the UK, sometimes pretty tight corners to take up and down the ramps😮 I luuurve your glasses case! I need this in my blind as a bat life 😂
The America’s Antique Mall you went to was in Algonquin, ill. The one I mentioned in my last post yesterday is two exits into Indiana on Indianapolis Blvd. in Highland, IN. It is the same chain and every bit as large as this one. Plus, there are a couple of decent thrift stores in Highway Ave. also in Highland.
Thank you for taking us along Misty. All the parkings in our big cities are like that, mazes. You can do it! That cabinet would make a grate jewlery cabinet. Loved the shop Amie recomended you. Have a nice quiet day tomorrow XXX
Wow Misty! I lived in the Chicago Area all my life and I do not drive in the City because it is crazy! You are amazing doing that. Also You shopped at my favorite place-Antique of Winfield, so when I go there this sat I will be thinking that you and Amy shopped there(3rd Sat 15% off 20.00 + unless firm)! Another place I shop is Oakton Street Antiques in Arlington Heights, Il If you have time is a great place to go to. Hope you had fun yesterday night at the convention!
You got this girl!!! So proud of you for venturing out in the big city all by your lonesome. I bet it felt great!!! Who would have thought there would be such good deals to be found in the big city (and burbs!)?!? Isn't it amazing how different the vintage landscape is in each part of the country?!? So fascinating! Glad you had a fun and productive adventure!!!
I’m so impressed with you for driving in Chicago! I live in the far western suburbs and haven’t been to The city since 2004! My husband and I love Antiques of Winfield, and we went to America’s Antique Mall for the first time during the Spring Shop Hop March 1-2.
You really should do the river architecture tour. I did it when I was there travelling and it really is fantastic. The art institute of Chicago was another highlight as well as a blues club at night. I love Chicago.
So glad you enjoyed Antiques of Winfield! Id never been to the place down the street, they dont seem to be open when I have been in that area. Not ever having been to Americas Antique Mall in Algonquin because they just opened last fall, wasnt sure if it would be any good, glad you found a few treasures from there too! 😊 We will have to go to a couple places in May if we have time that you didnt get to!
Eek! I hate parking garages. That was a crazy drive through the city on fast forward. I may have tried to hit the brakes. Hahaha You’re so brave. I’d be terrified to venture around Chicago on my own. I have zero sense of direction. I get lost in my own town. Haha

Either way great video! Kudos on driving through that maze of a parkade…. Boy, I was sketched for you with how low those ceilings were 🙈 Anyhow, enjoy your holiday!! ❤
Heeey😂. Good job getting out of that parking garage. I’ve spent some unhappy moments in one 😳. We are in the Americas Antique Mall in Highland. Spent today restocking and rearranging.
I was at America’s antique mall not long ago, don’t live far from there. It really is big and they keep it so clean and nice, I still like the littler places better the homier feeling. Too bad I wasn’t there to run into you, I think I’d be too bashful to say hi. Lol probably would just creepily stare lol sounds better I wasn’t there! I’m glad you enjoyed yourself and got back to Chicago and yah traffic either way at that time is horrible! I always sound so creepy but swear I’m just weird. Lol
Thanks for showing the book Selling Dead People’s Things, I’ve added it to my Amazon cart. Is this shop in Algonquin? 4:19? Did you hit a lot of traffic? You had quite the adventure, so I’d say you’re entitled to stay inside tomorrow.

The red metal rack is a good find at $25. Anything red always attracts my eye too.
I love how you say “We’ll figure it out”. Thats something I say all the time, especially since my 86 year old parents have recently decided to move. They can’t find anything and have no idea where they want everything to go. Yup we’ll figure it out.
My Mom who is 92 has recently decided to move into a senior apartment cmplex and is trying to decide what she wants to take
Is it super weird that I recognized Scott Brick as the reader of your audiobook that quickly? He’s really good.
Going through that parking garage reminded me of IU Methodist downtown Indy. Kudos to you for your exploration! Some fun things to bring home. I see you bought the red shelf...yay!!! Have fun, stay safe
Omg, THAT is the parking garage where I kept driving around in circles thinking I was getting out.....NOPE! 🤣
@@ThrifterJunkerVintageHunter lol understandably so

You did great driving in Chicago alone! But you are certainly a confident & brave young lady!
What a brave girl you are driving in the city, I am a scaredy cat. You found some great things at the antique malls. Enjoy your jack and coke and have a great evening.

Worked in Chicago for 30 yrs and i still get anxious driving there and the parking garages ceilings are al so low it freaks me out. You did good!
You did it! That traffic isn't enjoyable to attempt whatsoever. You deserve a gold star! Amie sent you to some good places.
You’re close to my hometown, Rockford! It’s 90 miles northwest of Chicago. I used to go with my hubby to his conferences and we got to go to some fantastic places. D.C., Boston, New Orleans, Orlando, Maui, Albuquerque, etc. they were always so much fun! xoxo Joan
Love, love the two telephone girls! ❤❤
Great finds today. I'm glad you had fun and made it back safely.
That parking garage was crazy! You did amazing navigating. I loved that hummingbird vase you saw in the antique store. I never saw one like that.
You did great getting out of the parking garage! I'm like you...parking garages can be a struggle. I couldn't get over how many traffic lights you had to get thru before leaving the city. I loved the malls you shopped...thanks so much for sharing! Stay safe. 💟

I grew up outside of Chicago, from age 3 to 9. I make back every couple years or so and I will have to stop by those places!!
You had a great haul today. Nice antique places there. Glad you made it back safe. You’re braver than I am girl. Gotta be proud of yourself. Have a good rest your trip.

You go girl!!!! Great job!!!!
Thanks for the fun adventure, Misty!! I always think I'm brave when I drive in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St. Paul, Mn), but you're much braver driving in Chicago!!! 💚 💛 💚
Can you hear me waving Misty and Mark!? I’m over here about 50 miles west of Chicago!! Welcome!😊
I'm waving back!!!
I have had to park and exit many parking garages and the scariest was when I had a HUGE Chevy Silverado Pickup Extended Cab. Talk about scary 🫣
Misty, I got nervous watching you drive. My daughter lives in Milwaukee so we have to go thru Chicago going and coming. Makes me crazy. No matter what time it is there’s tons of traffic. Reminds me of riding in my friend's conversion van in a parking garage...always looked like the ceiling would cut off the top of the van. 😊
Hi Misty, I live near Antiques of Winfield! It is one of my favorite antique malls in the area. I am glad you found some good things. I love the red shelf you got! You did ALOT of driving around that day. There is never a good time to drive to the city where you don't hit traffic.
Yep, driving around for antiques is a true adventure! Sometimes the traffic is just part of the journey.
The beginning cracked me up 😂 You are braver than me Misty!! I am the type of person that will do everything possible to avoid parking garages, parallel parking, I won’t go through car washes, and I will take three right hand turns before trying to take a left at a tough intersection. 🤷🏻♀️

The parking garage is exactly like the ones we have in the UK, sometimes pretty tight corners to take up and down the ramps😮
I luuurve your glasses case! I need this in my blind as a bat life 😂
I am enjoying you traveling around IL. I love Winfield. You are brave. I will not drive downtown Chicago.
The America’s Antique Mall you went to was in Algonquin, ill. The one I mentioned in my last post yesterday is two exits into Indiana on Indianapolis Blvd. in Highland, IN. I’m so impressed with you for driving in Chicago! I live in the far western suburbs and haven’t been to The city since 2004! My husband and I love Antiques of Winfield, and we went to America’s Antique Mall for the first time during the Spring Shop Hop March 1-2.
Hey Misty just thought I'd let you know that Traderbakers in Washington Indiana has freeze dried candy! And you're right, it is pricey! Great video!
You did a great job today, you must feel very good about that! You found some neat stuff as well! Love the vlogs!
Nice video. My first time watching. Safe travels💜
Thank you!! ❤️
You really should do the river architecture tour. I did it when I was there travelling and it really is fantastic. The art institute of Chicago was another highlight as well as a blues club at night. I love Chicago.

Haha, I totally get the parking garage struggle. Thanks for watching, friend!
How fitting! I was thinking that saxophone music while you were driving sounded like Roseanne intro, and then to hear you’re in Illinois, I dunno if that was planned or a “happy accident” LOL.
Loved your adventures, so many cute things❤
Thank you! 🤗
I was at America’s antique mall not long ago, don’t live far from there. It really is big and they keep it so clean and nice, I still like the littler places better the homier feeling. PLEASE always come and say hi! I love meeting new people! ❤️
Thanks for showing the book Selling Dead People’s Things, I’ve added it to my Amazon cart. Is this shop in Algonquin? 4:19? Did you hit a lot of traffic? You had quite the adventure, so I’d say you’re entitled to stay inside tomorrow.
The book is a hoot! And the guy that wrote it has his own antique mall somewhere in Chicagoland.
Geeze, how many levels does that parking garage have!!???😮
I'm not even sure!! Lol!
