I'm a California native, moving from ORANGE COUNTY to Nevada about a month and a half ago.Thank you for airing this. I'm home sick. I hate seeing car chases, but I love them too! Especially when the police do a great job at catching them! I love OC's Police!!!

This is a 'No Brainer' ! The 'Suspect' is merely one of our California drivers, in they're Own Little World, Never Looking behind them, Never using their turn signal, and has ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD FOR THE OTHER MOTORISTS ! Simple !
Given today’s technology, can’t police simply point of laser at a car and disable it??
I ask the same question.
There are lasers that could disable a car but the police are not in possession of any of them. There are other options like "The Grappler" (search UA-cam to see it in operation). And some car companies can remotely slow cars way down if the owner is a subscriber and provides authorization, but you aren't likely to get that if the owner is at the wheel. The police can generally correlate a plate with a VIN (if the correct plate is on the vehicle). I don't know what happens if police call OnStar (for example) without the owner reporting it stolen.
Honestly, your Ford EcoSport 4 cylinder makin' MAYBE 150bhp isn't going anywhere. Just pull over.

I lived in Tustin, CA, outside of LA in 1970 and there was an orange grove right next door to my apartment. Tustin is in Orange County. The area is all built up now. I went back about 5 years ago and the orange orchard is gone.

I saw this cop in south Africa come up along side of the car during a high speed chase and while exiting the ramp, he pulls along side the car and shoots the car with a shot gun and the car pulls off the road and stops. It was gnarly and somebody hire that dude

So many of these are for nothing; failure to yeild means the cops will endanger hundreds of people to chase some average bad LA driver. I think the cops do it for fun and profit.
