+iKaGe01 You cant drive long times that fast. The motor and the battery will get hot and it will limit the power output. This high speeds are for overtaking or something similar. If you drive far, you will drive around 130km/h with autopilot enabled. It is much easier than speeding ;)
I drove a Tesla Model S for 1300km in less than 20 hours. Without the autopilot i woudn't have been able to do this trip in a relaxed way.
I have had multiple charging stops. They eat up some time. It's not pure driving time.
That was me, lol. Takes time to realize charging just enough to reach the next Supercharger is the way to go, tendency is to recharge as much as possible which slows down dramatically after 80%.

Many things are impressing in that Tesla supercar. Its acceleration is awesome, plus the no-shift gives an acceleration with no interuption, which is very different from the usual engines and contributing to this impressive side.
The quiet engine is unusual, because it removes auditive information about acceleration and such things, leaving it only to visual and feeling senses.

It cant make any revs .. since it doesnt have gears there is no neutral ... there is no pistons to moove
@@mkg2002 that's not how it works, for the "drive gear" it just makes the electric motor go one way, for the reverse "gear" it does the opposite. I dont know for neutral. All electric cars have are the motor and single speed transmission. That's why EVs require soo little maintenance, they have piss all moving and complicates parts

It's an interesting car and I would love to just feel that sort of acceleration once in my life, but I would much rather have something where I can go through the gears and hear a beautiful loud roaring sound from a polluting internal combustion engine.

Here is the future for those who can afford it.
+Rich P Tesla Model 3 coming in 2018 which will be starting at 35.000 dollar/euro and will also do 0-60 mph in under 6 seconds with basemodel.. Much more affordable then the Model S.. In some countries it will be as cheap as running a VW Golf in lease because of all tax-benefits for full electric cars.. Then we'll really see Tesla explode in sales and waiting-lists increase as production will probably not be able to keep up with demand.. Better get that Gigafactory up&running ASAP, they're gonna need it..
Yep, not to mention the used car market Tesla models should appear sooner or later, even now, where I live, there are some model S for sale for about ~40k EUR/USD in a couple of years the prices will drop more just like with the rest of the cars.
These cars are the new market - their prices and quality will stay higher, while the internal combustion engine cars are doomed to go away even now the market of these cars is shrinking, not so fast, but in some countries the Tesla sales increased dramatically in Norway many people have bought Teslas over the past years instead of any other gasoline/diesel car. These cars are really appealing and thats not only because of the performance or massive media advertising, they have fever problems with maintance compared to the combustion engine cars, no smells, no pollution especially in the city at the peek hours with many engines running its not so nice to open the window, while with Teslas that wouldnt be a problem. The electric motors are far less complex and they are fixed faster and probably cheaper compared to the internal combustion engine witch needs loots of parts and the engines are getting more complex with each year because of the emissions foreclosure, need of fuel economy and the power at the same time - one turbo, two turbos on the same block, filters, some features even AD-blue fuel component to reduce emissions and so on... Actually it gets annoying to own a car and to maintain it before every longer travel. While with Tesla you can charge it at the charger or leave it charging over night, you dont need to heat the engine in winter time, you dont need to change oil or to check it each time, no antifreeze or engine cooling systems, these little things gets on your nerve quite often and the older your car is the worse it gets. you need to fix many things, that needs time and money, and if the cars starts to perish, it goes with each part, so basically on the longer run you are rebuilding the whole systems one by one and investing quite a lot of money.
In the past I buy a new car a minimum of every 5 years. Other than change the oil I do no service on modern combustion engines. I just do not keep them that long. I like electric vehicles and I am sure they will expand. Problem is the "real" footprint is as bad as a combustion engine. They tear apart mountains to get the needed rare earth minerals needed. The process to make the batteries is incredibly polluting and they come from only China at this point. CNG cars are greener than battery operated cars at this time even with the fracking to get the gas. Still if I could afford the high end Tesla I would get a thrill out of accelerating that fast if I needed to. I do get your point though. I live rural and have a lot of machines to maintain from riding lawn mowers, diesel tractor, chain saw, etc etc. I do not post my name but I am also of Lithuanian heritage. Father = Vytautus, brother Kazimieras. I responded because I so rarely see a Lithuanian surname. Take care.

very fast from 0 to 100 Km/h. but from 100 to 200 in 11 second is nice! but not very fast for 762 hp. my normal car have only 295hp and from 100 to 200 in 10,5-11,5 ( MT manual Transmition ) .

the tesla might be a good car, but if you drive it like a good strong diesel engine with over 100mp/h the hole time, its a shame how soon you have to recharge.
and over 60mp/h the acceleration is very weak for a 700hp car.
