She was injured significantly prior to olympics, and couldn't even put weight on her ankle. It was terrific rehab and her strength and will that brought her back to this level.
Damm we can only imagine.. had Allyson not been injured Trust Me she would have doubled gold 200m and 400m. 2012 and 2016 was her years. Lets pray she makes 2020.
I am a big fan of Allyson. This USATF 200m final result news in the morning IST made my entire day so bad that my thought was stopped as I am not going to see her in 200m Rio. 400m Gold was sure shot for her if she would have not been injured but 200 was kind of 50-50 since Elaine 21.78 was commendable. But one thing could be predicted well that Dafne would have got Bronze in this imaginary situation. I feel Allyson was never been lucky as being beaten by Veronica twice in Olympics, then injured and fell down on track 2013 Moscow and gave Shally-Ann an easy pass for Gold, 2016 Injured right before Olympic when her 60m timing was pretty good as 7.15 sec. Hoping to see her double Gold in 2021.
She already know it was going to be a tuff run but she is a competitor. I am her fan for life and she will come back the next olympic and beat everyone.
My girl gave it her all and I enjoy that she fought to the very end. Let's focus on getting that 400m. I think if she get some speed work in she can get it one of those records. She is a true champ, she fought to the end.
@@molonlabe9602 She will be doing amazing in the 400. She didn’t even look like she was full on trying to make the team. && on top of that she would’ve had to pick between the 400 & 200 because of conflicting times, so it worked out either way
Allyson showed great heart, and she's just a class act! I know everyone wanted to see her run the 200m. but I actually enjoy watching her more in the 400m. To me it just shows how skillful and powerful of a runner she is. If she's healthy, she'll be in at least one relay. She will still be very busy in Rio! If we think about it, she's one of the few veteran Olympians who are returning to the games. No Sanya, Dee-Dee Trotter, Francena McCrory, Dawn Harper, and Carmelita Jeter wasn't even at the meet. Unfortunately it's a changing of the guard with a lot the newer runners coming up!
It's a changing off the guards around the world. VCB didn't make the 100m team either. These veterans are run out by the new comers who won't make the finals at the Olympics. Sad!
+Kye- Paveman ...Yes the changing of the guard is inevitable, and we will have to embrace the newcomers and endure the growing pains they will go through. The London Games was really a great Olympics, in which I loved every minute of watching. It will definitely be different in Rio, but I just look forward to everyone competing at their best. With VCB since she's mainly been a 200m specialist the fact that she came in 4th in the 100m was still powerful. She's in her 30s and still putting it down. At least she'll be in the 200m and I'm sure the 4 x 100m relay. When I think of her she's like the energizer bunny. She may not always win, but she's always in the mix....she keeps going, and going, and going!
I think people forget that VCB is a 200m specialist who just happens to be really good at the 100m. She didn't make the 100m team in Beijing either but the newcomers who beat her in the trials did a clean sweep in the Olympic final, she then went on to get her gold medal in the 200. IMO that worked out perfectly. She then made the 100m team in 2012 and got her bronze against a really tough lineup. I almost feel as if VCB uses her losses as motivation for the future. I'm never too worried when she has an off year. She's a tremendous athlete and she knows how to rebound from misfortune.
OMG THAT WAS MY REACTION TOO HAHA..But seriously still shocked!! All the best to Allyson in the 400m and 4x4, and hoping she gets speed work done to run in the 4x1
Why isn't anyone criticising the US selection system ? Any other country in the world would recognise that a great athlete was gradually getting back to her best and give her a place in the team. Good luck to Jenna Prandini, but we saw what happened to her last year. 22.20 at the US Trials, then 22.87 when it mattered at the World Championships.

You won't find a bigger Felix fan than me. But I give the nod to Irina Prevalova of Russia (name spelling may be off a bit.) She was world class from 50m all the way up to 400. She's best known as a 100m and 200m sprinter, but unfortunately for her, she ran against likes of Ottey, Deavers, Ashford, Torrance, and Áaron. Like Felix, she was a mainstay on both the 4x1 and 4x4 relay teams. She finally got her individual gold medal in Sydney, running the 400m hurdles.
She wasn't third. The only part of the body that counts when crossing the line is the torso. Whoever gets their chest across first, wins. Doesn't matter if someone else has their hand, leg, head, neck, arm, shoulder across the line. If that chest doesn't make it to the line before the other person, none of that matters, which is why you see athletes deliberately do a nosedive for the line when they're losing. Between the momentum from running and acceleration when falling, usually gets their chest across the line faster than the person who runs for it. Like what happened here.
Allyson Felix is such a class act. She will be remembered so after her glorious career comes to an end. She congratulates Prandini and later Miller Uibo after their classless acts to dive for the finish line. Allyson too classy to do that. Foot race starts on the feet should end that way.

I live a lone, all of a sudden I hear this voice sound like it's coming from behind me. I started looking around trying to find out who the hell is in my apartment and how did they get in here.
❤
exciting race --- of course the qualifiers for the olympics are going to face Schippers and Elaine Thompson.
Best best best Felix
She'll be alright
3:40. I had the volume up high when this came. I'm sure the neighbors thought somebody was getting killed in my house when this happened.
3:42 LoLLLLLLLL I didn't expect to hear a UA-cam commentary... :-D
Well, Allyson will still be on the 4x200 meter relay and she won 400 meters (Which I think was her focus in these last few years from I read)
Slow the film down and Alysons foot crosses the line first . Check it out .
the torso, not the feet that has to cross first.
Alyson felix 💖💖💖👍👍👍👍👍
très belle
They can only dive to run down Allyson
Did she win
Yeah she looked like she was in pain, bow legged runners don't last long anyway. Normal 10-15 yrs top.
She still fine and great in my book tho.
Two races that by falling her opponet has beaten Felix,( this race and final in Rio),that shouldn't have to be accepted when doing on purpose!
Wins??
still smasN tho bruh Allyson Felix brastly I was competing at the CCS meet when she broke Marin jones record straight dippers been a fan since
doesn't Tori Bowie look like she could be Cleavon Little's daughter, u know the sheriff in Blazing Saddles?
Best racing
lol. Who else got scared and wasnt expecting anyone but the announcer to talk?
Well considering tamoh gave her spot to Felix in 2012 I don't get the big deal that Felix lost on a tie
Was Allyson recovering from an injury? She was so slow out of the blocks.
Yes severe ankle injury months before the trials
NOOOOO!!!!
Nice
so this is about someone who didnt qualify?
The USA is in a good position with its women sprinters. We have a good mix of veterans and newbies who look to be dominate in the not too distant future.
Allyson felix must destroy world record 400m(47.60s) or Olympic record (48.25s)
1 job only (400m)
I cheer allyson felix forever.😃😃😃
