NO.
gooooooood morning being gay!
You should *ask* not demand and you might get more subs.
No tf I won’t
A really cool fact is that Adrian Cronauer is my great uncle and we have the same last name
My grandpa said hed quietly say "mornin' paul" and it still cracks me up lmao
That's actually adorable
Why lie to strangers on the internet? Is it an attention thing ?
@@ppstorm_ Tell me why you think this is a lie

I served from Jan/Dec 1967-we yelled "f you Viet Nam!"
Thankyou for your service from Australia 🇦🇺 what an experience it would be to hear this play again, especially if the last time you might of heard it was in the jungles of Vietnam… crazy…
Thanks for serving.
Glad.you made it back.
Me: USAF 1974-1977
😂 for real ?
@@brianhusted3909Your service and sacrifices are noted and appreciated, thank you.. I have some decorated service members in my family and in my bloodline(my grandfather was R.A.F. pilot during ww2, and a few more family members too).. although I don't know your sacrifices I know it's called a sacrifice for a good reason and I hope you had the best times possible in the worst situations any man can usually find himself in.. when you are deployed to stop a threat that is terroristic or dictatorial then you're never fighting just for your nation amd your paychecks.. you are one hundred percent stopping that threat from effecting the rest of the world from some really horrible things and that's something that needs to be respected more.. God bless you and your loved ones man and any members who served their duties well..👍❤️👍
Thank you for serving and welcome home, sir.❤
I remember hearing good morning Vietnam so many mornings while in Vietnam. I love it when he held the word good. It was always interesting to hear the comments the guys would reply.
Thank you for your service sir.
welcome home
Thanks for losing.
@@Bretaxyyou can be an asshole without being an asshole to the kids that were forced to go over there dawg
@@Bretaxydickbag
I remember the greeting, but don't recall any response to from anyone. All in all, the radio, the music, was a link to home for me. If I could hear that, home didn't seem so far away and possible to return to.
Thankyou for your service good sir, all the way from Australia. Goodmorning Vietnam🇻🇳
Thank you for your service
Thank you for nothing.
@@Bretaxy And thank you for your kind words
@@Bretaxy says the guy who lives in his moms basement and will never do anything good for the world.
I want to hear the original broadcasts. Somebody somewhere has to have them archived.
ua-cam.com/video/VoyYqOquv_k/v-deo.htmlsi=2sss_XCRnod4l0ou
Search it up on the bar "AFVN", plenty of recorded sessions
ua-cam.com/video/VoyYqOquv_k/v-deo.htmlsi=uXTIqi22GFIywy_b
That might be asking for a lot. Idk if they did record it but if they weren’t recording at the time we’re talking old radio equipment in a foreign country in pre-smartphone era. Only way I see to get it would be finding some kind of tapes with it buried in a military base filing cabinet somewhere. Or in someone’s personal data horde
@@OfficialDeathScythe I'm thinking reel to reel tapes, stacks of them, sitting in some military warehouse somewhere. You know how pedantic the Army could be over keeping records of everything, in triplicate. I wonder if a FOIA request could help to locate and release them.
Apparently my uncle would go " Mornin'... " quietly because most of the GIs around the radio would get agitated by it - despite literally being sat there waiting for the program.
The radio appreciated the attention. All hail the Omnissiah.
he has an amazing radio voice even now.
Wow! Cronauer really has some pipes!
What you hear in this clip is Robin Williams
ORLY? When Adrian Cronauer is being interviewed on-screen, Robin Williams' voice is being dubbed in? Why would he try to sound like Cronauer then, but talk like himself in the movie?
@@wralfordyes you're right, they did put the clip over it, it's called editing and it's not to hard to tell it's Robin
@@wralford and the movie is literally about him playing the interviewees role on the radio lol
The devil, you say!
Honestly, even if they found it annoying, the consistency and chance to let out some of that frustration every morning with a good ol' "get fucked" was probably a huge morale booster.
Id really love him to do more with that voice of his, its so iconic lool. His voice is also in a Vietnam DLC for Arma 3, you can hear him and his radio transmissions word for word.
:O
Unfortunately, he's dead.
Wait can I select his voice for my character? I don’t play much vanilla arma more of a filthy star sim casual so that’s the only reason I’d buy the dlc
Is that part of Prairie Fire? Haven't touched that one
@@widdly-scuds yeee it's exactly his transmissions from his radio station in Vietnam
Our motor pool sgt. always, EVERY DAMN MORNING!!!, would say "Good Morning Radio"...actually we liked it.
Great movie about a great man
please tell me you don't think it's just a bit from forest Gump
@@EdibleFuture where in that sentence did he even mention forrest gump lmao
I heard you many times. 67-69 11th. Cavalry Regiment under George S Patton Jr.
Thank you sir.
Wow he had a son and she was in the military I learned something new
Good on ya mate for keeping us aussies safe in nam
Welcome home sir, thank you!
To everyone who served in vietnam in the comments if you see this, my grandfather was a 1st infantry SGM in vietnam and the gulf and i remember how much it affected him that he wasnt supported by our country, welcome home and thank you for all you did, volunteers and voluntold alike
This, for the people that like the remark how different WW2 vets are when compared to Vietnam vets.
WW2 vets were welcomed back home as heroes.
Vietnam vets were spat on, debased and insulted...assuming anyone even bothered to be there when they got back.
The mental image of some GI sitting in the dirt and in the background there's, "GOOOD MORNIN' VIETN-" ***BANG*** is great
Edit: Thank you everyone for the 1k, I wish you all happy days and nights!
SHUT UP CRONAUER
Tough crowd...
I knew Adrian Crownoer . It's sad that he's passed away 😢 a few years ago. He was a very nice guy 👦
Really? How did you happen to know him?
I worked with his wife /Co-worker initially and she knew I was a fan of the movie 🎬. I didn't know who she was until 1 day we were having lunch and he walked up to us and introduced himself. I had no idea at the time. That was many years ago.
My grandfather stated that even though no day was a good day. Him hearing that voice over the radio was good until someone in the unit shot the damned radio. No but seriously this radio broadcast is the only thing he will talk about he really liked it.
Wow! To hear the real Cronauer's voice... He has a classic radio voice!
I was one of those who heard this greeting , some of my buds shouted back curse words , me , it was a funny touch of home . But then I have a sic sense of humor . Thanks for the memory
"Goooooooooood mornin' Vietnam!"
Is such an America staple of a phrase that despite never once watching the movie I always knew the phrase and the scream even as a kid
I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Mr. Cronauer and speaking to him at a dinner given in his honor. While I may not have agreed with all his political views we did share an open-eyed love of the USA and its service members.
"Good morning, Vietnam!" one of robin Williams best films.
I shouted -
"GOOOOOOODDDD MOOORRRNNIINNG SHADALOOOOO!!!!"
My Ho Chi Minh guide was laughing at me cos she did watch Street Fighter movie starring JCVD. It was one of her favourite movie.
❤❤❤❤❤
Damn allot of references make sense now
So many Vietnam veterans in here! WELCOME HOME!!!
Incredible voice. Sounds a lot like Paul Harvey.
What a great radio voice,
Rip my guy he was a good actor
It's still iconic, I'm still hearing it to this day with helldivers 2 and malevolon creek lol
That's one of my favorite movies of all time growing up as a kid.
The older generation and younger ones dont socialize much so allow me to talk to some of the vets that found this. From a generation Z guy, some of us young people are thankful for you Vietnam vets. Thank you guys for your hard work and sacrafice. Welcome home.
Quit kissing ass, it won't get your government pawn contract bumped up any higher
it really is sad how little we socialize. there are several different reasons for it though, so you have to consider just how different the generations are, and how little the older generations understand about the newer generations
@@thefourthdymensionmusicThe issue is that aside from life experience there is very little difference between generations, but certain people want you to think otherwise. There is no mass generalization you can make about generations, and there is no real divide.
@@thefourthdymensionmusiclittle incorrect
@@everydaychemistry6231I agree with you very much
Lmfao someone really blasted his radio coz he was sick of the morning greeting that's great
Bro went from normal mic volume to volume when your parents are asleep
Excellent film. The truth makes the best stories.
We never started that war ! We were just thrown into that war ! We at 18 years old never had a voice about going too war ! We were DRAFTED ! So when we ended up thier ! Yea U can understand why that good morning VIETNAM ! We were not at Our Happy Place , like home ! NOW OLDER I MISS IT ! GOOD MORNING VIETNAM ! 🎉
The draft lie is still alive...
Wast majority of us grunts in south vietnam were volunteers
You were in ?
Sir are you having a stroke
@@Yeet-mp6ci Maybe youre the one having a stroke?? I could read it just fine.
@@alfredo42o I can read it but it’s confusing
Awesome hearing the backstory ❤❤❤
Fun fact the DJ in the movie Street Fighter is Adrian Cronauer.
Holy crap it actually is. His only acting credit on IMDB. :)
Great movie
He’s got a great “radio” voice.
I keep thinking of the Vietnam song or whatever it’s called
I love this movie
that movie was absolute perfection
My Old Man says he only remembers ever hearing that once.
I never would have known that if it wasn't for this. Great information
Its morning, in Vietnam. So good morning Vietnam.
Took that long to disect the phrase.
Awesome movie! Robin Williams was great!
So cool to see all these comments from Vietnam veterans
My dad did 3 tours in Vietnam after my mother died. He was trying to get himself killed but came back from each tour fine. When this movie came out, he wouldn't even watch it. I guess it brought back too many memories
When me and some classmates went on a canoe trip to a super remote location one of the guys with us screamed that and without context i found it the funniest thing ever.
I think he was on k92 radio?
My god he has the 60’s TV voice, it’s not just audio compression, they literally sound like that
All I remember from Malevelon Creek was the incessant playing of fortunate son.
Now, now it’s iconic
Man I still remember those days even 30 years before I was born. Crazy times! 😂
I remember listening to him in VN
Love the performance of Cronauer's direct superior, he was unbearable 😂
Gold!!
When I was working overnights I used that as my alarm since it was morning in Nam when I'd get up 😂
Great movie. I didn't know he was a real guy.
My grandpa has really bad Alzheimer’s and can’t remember the Vietnam war, but he remembered hearing that and anything Johnny Cash.
I did hear Cronauer saying a few years ago that while the movie was fair in general if he'd done 10% of the stuff Robin Williams did in the movie he'd have been shipped out on the next ferry flight stateside.
I can remember the day this aired i laughted so hard so sad a man can make the whole world love him and be so sad humanity is so strange i love robin williams 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤
Wow.. . I never knew that.... That's f****** awesome...
GOOOOOOOD MORNIN VIETNAM 🔥🗣️🗣️🔥🚨
All I know is my pops old buddy who served in Nam did not want to think about it in the slightest and most of their classmates died there.
When i think of a radio talkshow host type voice this is what i hear
I really wanted to meet Robin Williams one day😢
Miss you Robin. 😢
he's got the crispy old radio voice!!!
We miss you Robbi 😢
He sounds like he'd make a good narrator for Thomas the Tank Engine.
His voice is Paul Harvey twin.
Need to do a review of the book hidden war
This Vietnam vet appreciated hom and who ELSE coulda played him like Robin. Gone too soon my very funny friend 🧡. 😢
As an independent critic of mostly music videos, i am particularily happy as an USA citizen that my reading glasses, my books, my monitors ( tv etc,) my vehicle (i ditched that a while ago for public transportation.) But, of course, i really cherish my freedom of peach. My livelihood depends on it.
Personally I'm more of a freedom of mango kind of guy.
Btw, mangos are Mother Nature's answer to candy. Say, "I really love your peaches and want to shake your tree.. (Steve Miller Band.)" to a hot chick and you may end up with a slap in the mouth or a law suit.. S
Dear DMNO, the mango is Mother Nature's version of candy.. BTW, if you told a hot chick that you," ..loved her peaches and wanted to shake her tree.." (Steve Miller Band.) She would (A) Slap you hard in the mouth.. or (B) Sue the jesus out of you.. (C) Or do both.. bye for now.. i am glad someone has a sense of humor, "These Days" (Joy Division.) Lolrf, SFP
Micheal Scott said it the best
Hearing that "Good morning Vietnam" is like listening to Wu-Tang lol
I was waiting for fortunate son to star playing
Good morning Americans
RIP Adrian Cronanuer
At least someone cares enough to tell you good morning when your fighting in a hell whole.
What a voice. 🍷🗿
The movie is one of his best. Sorry he is no more.
It's funny really, i was watching Supernatural and in of the episode of season 7, Lucifer in Sam's head yelled "GOOOOOOD MORNING, VIETNAM!!!", made me laugh and now i know where it's from.
All the old heads in BSA would copy this in some way, and now as a 20 year whos never even see the movie its very nostalgic
This explains a little bit of why my dad didn't like the movie. It reminded him of Vietnam. Our men should never have been there. 😢
He caught a lot of crap from the silent majority type. This is a pretty significant American attitude that was prevalent in the American military. There's a little sociology experiment in there.
I can imagine that even them yelling "F*** you Vietnam" in response still had a somewhat therapeutic effect, giving the day at least a semblance of normalcy in an otherwise hellish world...
I'm surprised there wasn't any noticeable battle between Ha Noi Hannah and this guy.
Im so thankful i didnt have my headphones on
And pat sajak replaced him when he was took off the air
I wonder if it was even considered to replace Pat with either one. Yes I know that they both have passed. Was he really replaced by Pat. (Time Slot) or just sent to AFVN?
I forgot Bruno Kirby was in the movie. He was sooo good, and such a conflicted character. He just didn't get it.😂
Great performance! Genuinely dislikable
My goodness, this guy sounds like Paul Harvey!
I think it means, good morning Vietnam.
I always wondered what this was supposed to mean.
AFRTS.... our connection to the world...
In my heart, I know I’m funny.
Something tells me the G.Is wouldn't say "stuffed", I'd imagine it was a more colourful word 😂
For a second I thought the actor got really old,
Then I realized that he was dead. Rest in peace
