All the carpets in your videos seem to come up bright. Do you ever get all the dirt out of a carpet only to find it has badly faded? Or perhaps the dirt protects it from sunlight and therefore filthy carpets don't fade?

How can a carpet get so filthy? Was it left in the sewers or urinals? I mean these carpets are very expensive to purchase, surely the owners would have better cared for the carpet.
I suppose to the people who own it it’s a utilitarian object and not an object of art or beauty, so as thing with a practical purpose it has a hard life. I also don’t know where these carpet cleaning fellows or their clients are, perhaps, the environment leads to many rugs being immersed in flood water or mud or sewage?

Nomadic peoples have rugs as the floor of their tents. I’d imagine those would get pretty filthy being on the ground
