He should run for mayor. He’s already done more for his community than Karen Bass

He probably never impressed you as someone who could or would disarm a gun toting murderer, but when he was called on, he did, to the shock of the killer.

He shows clearly that you do not have to be "Ten foot tall and bullet proof" to be a hero. The gray man theory of social interaction is embodied in the most dangerous person in the room not looking dangerous until the moment of need. I am certain the shooter did not see this man as a threat to his plan of murder, but the "invisible man" took him on. This man does not look like a "John Wick" or Audie Murphy type. He was just a simple man who said in his actions "Not today, not here" and saved lives without planning to be a hero. I would guess his day runner for that fateful day did not include a written plan to wrestle a gun away from a killer, but when he said "Not here and not now" he became the one who did what needed to be done. As son as it was over, he returned to being the mild mannered introvert he was before. Thank you for having the words "Not here, not now" written in your heart.

The kid saw the man struggle with his gun, then takes his one chance ,which I respect, but then tells the gunman to leave. Basically, go do this somewhere else. He didn't even know he saved those lives till people told him. Glad the guy didn't have time to kill others the next day.

People should give him more space though. Less publicity would help.
