Did you use the supplied "electrostatic" clear film squares (deckled edges) on the windows prior to sticking the camera with the supplied 3m adhesive square? Some other videos show the poster using those and some don't. My kit jus t arrived from Amazon today and I plan to install into my 2013 Honda Civic (four door sedan) on the weekend. I'm fairly confident about doing the install but just trying to see if those things were necessary. Hoping I might get away without using them. I do plan to power the camera and look at the view (via the JarvisCam App) before I mount in it's final position. Thank you for any suggestions you may have. Regards from Winnipeg! P.S. I recognized 401 and Yonge St. before you even named them. :)
No I didn't use the films that came with it. They seem to stick fine. Everytime I'm in Winnipeg I go to the pancake house and try to eat the giant apple pancake.
I used the clear film squares, however after a couple of days it unpeeled and left the camera dangling on the wire, still attached to the clear film. I was dubious about it working in the first place. I'm going to use one of the spare stickers and attach it direct to the windscreen. Disappointed
@@peterc55555 They are supposed to be sending me a new camera to try so I removed this one from my windshield. It was really stuck onto the windshield, I think using the straight sticker will work better.
The d700 retains 4k video with the rear installed. It costs more, but I think I'd go one model up. 4k seems to make a big difference for dash cams. This one does well though
Awesome. Thank you, just bought it
Thanks for watching best of luck getting it up and working

I can’t access the rear camera on the app? Wire is plugged in and have swap the quality from 4k to 2.5K and still not showing, any idea?
When you are recording does the rear camera record onto the SD card?
Nice video and well documented
Thanks for watching
Awesome! That’s a nice setup!

@@DIYNorth well done! Thank you for sharing!
So cool! I love it.
Thanks for checking out the video
Hello the cam dash doesn’t have a lcd screen , how can u view it live? Do you have to use your phone to view live as you drive?
If you want a live view....yes.
You need your phone
I wonder if you can get a separate rear cam that will record in 4K also?
I'm yet to see one but that would be a big upgrade
After not even a year mine is not recording any more
That is not a great service life.
